  • BEST and EASIEST way to remove All pest snails! 100% GUARANTEED!
This is a very easy method or removing any pest snails in your aquariums which can especially be a problem in planted or aquascaped aquariums.
The snails in this example I believe are bladder snails although pond snails do look very similar.
Yo-yo loaches are also known as Pakistani loaches. They should be cared for as much as any other fish but they love munching on snails!
Let me know if you have had any success ridding your tanks of a snail infestation and how you went about it please.

I had a snail problem and watched your video and went looking for Loaches particularly the Yoyo, however, not easily located in Fish Stores in America, so, I decided to go with 3 Skunk Loaches, they are about an inch + and they went to town on the snail population and it has been a full on GENOCIDE! Thank you for putting me onto Loaches mine will only be about 4 inches when full grown. AWESOME! this changed everything!

I got 4 clown loaches a couple years back and they've done the same thing. I tried assassin snails, chemicals, manually removing them and every other method I could think of, but the loaches were the answer. I honestly love them. They're beautiful, and they've become so used to my presence that they have learned how to beg for food. I know that sounds insane, but I don't know how else to characterize synchronized dancing at the glass whenever it's been a bit long between feedings. Of all the fish I've had, these guys have been the best surprise.

i like the bladder snails for their ability to clean the tank better than anything else i had. even nerite snails and otocinculus. But they multiply like no tomorrow. 1 becomes 100 in 30 days. i didn't use loaches but i got an assassin snail and they dealt with them very effectively for population control. they don't hunt as much as loaches meaning the bladder snails stuck around to keep cleaning, but they never got out of control. and Assassin snails don't multiply quickly so they never became a problem. they're non hermaphroditic so if you just get 1, it'll never breed and mulitply making them, for me anyway, the perfect bladder snail control.

I have bladder snails in a tank with white clouds, cherry barbs and African dwarf frogs. I'm letting them go for a bit because I'd like them to clear up my algae before getting assassin snails. My question is whether a yoyo loach will bother my small frogs and whether a loach needs warmer than room temp if I want to remove him from the problem 29 gallon tank of small fish and put him in a 55 (soon upgraded to 75 gallon tank) with 7 5-8" goldfish.

Your white cloud fry wont survive with yoyo's in there. And yes they eat shrimp. If they run out of snails they are next to be targeted. So, no you have not found the best or easiest solution for snails. You will have to house the yoyo's and they get big!

  • @troublingleaf

Loaches are great snail hunters, dwarf chain loach are great at it and a nano fish so great for smaller tanks, unfortunately you do need a few and they are expensive. but there is an other approach that works well, algae wafers or veggies ie cucumber in a jam jar, loads of them will go for it at a time, after that work out your feeding regimen because if you have a snail problem you are definitley overfeeding.

Perhaps o should have mentioned that in the video. Cheers 👍🏻

      Dear Jamie:
I’m trying to come up with a way to eradicate snails, but I realize that the only true solution is to start over. I know that assassin snails (Clea helena) and yoyo loaches (Botia almorhae) eat snails, but I don’t care to have an overpopulation of assassin snails. I have a couple of larger tanks, but I’m waiting for some, long-lived fish to expire, so I can break them down. I don’t want to prolong that with yoyo loaches. I’m doing a series of experiments to rid small thanks of snails:

Well, I have done that with nerite snails. I bought a pair and was disappointed that at least one was a female. She (or they) left eggs all over my aquascape (which don’t hatch, but simply rot in fresh water). I traded them both for one, Amano shrimp. The pet store always comes out ahead, but it’s good of them to deal with me. I’ve also sold them Columbian tetra, but I hate to part with my pets. They get much better care with me than they can hope for, elsewhere.
