i don’t know why this doesn’t have more views and likes. as an intermediate snowboarder who is also female, i wish that there was so much more of this content online. thank you REI and thank you Amy!
So happy you made an intermediate version. I wish it was a little longer with more little tips on each point like the first one. But great teaching/explanation style
Thank you for sharing. Living in the Southern Hemisphere, I generally only go on one snow trip a year and have been struggling to progress beyond that stage after you have mastered all the beginner skills and all the non-beginner videos are far too advanced! Can’t wait to try this out on my next trip
Nice video Additional bumps tip: to start off go intentionally over the top of a bump and turn when you're at the top. Makes it much easier then trying to go round every single one
I tend to fall when I lean on my heels, so I've developed a tendency to turn on my toes, face up the hill, and then rotate so I'm now riding switch, so I can now turn in the right direction. Is this a bad habit?
@@luhblurr Keep your weight on your front foot and when toe side go on your tippy toes when heel side go on your heels, simple but it really help when I learned to snowboard.
Turning back up the hill on steep retains the grip and kills speed. If you initiate the next turn while pointing up the hill or at least level you can turn tight and keep grip on the next traverse as you won't pick so much speed as you come through the fall line. Sliding anywhere near bumps or on the steep while traversing will put you on the floor. If it is really steep you'll be sledging on your ass for the next mile lol. Sliding isn't gripping. Ideally the trail you leave in the snow should be no wider than a single ski width.
I feel like this is more like a beginner part 2 video because I can already do all this and I consider myself an intermediate, but maybe I'm more of an expert I mean I can already do double black diamonds pretty easily and haven't even been snowboarding for a year yet. PS: I still enjoyed this video and think it will help a lot of people improve at snowboarding

This exactly how I was taught 21years ago in UK and France. Excellent 👍👍
