When I taught at a Police Academy, I used two different Crimes as examples of how NOT to handle evidence or secure a Crime Scene. One was the Jeffery MacDonald Case from the 1970's. The other was the O. J. Simpson Case..

It was made all about race during the trial by the media. The prosecution made some mistakes, but the whole defense was based on "that cop was a racist, who planted all the evidence because OJ is black", even though it was not possible for one person to plant that much evidence that fit OJ that perfectly. At the time of the chase, OJs Bronco was in the Police Crime Lab being searched for forensic evidence. They were in Al Cowlings Bronco during the chase.

Kinda...He did call 911 but not about his whereabouts. A couple did tip the police off but OJ was gone by the time they responded so they had to trace his 911 calls.

It came out that Nicole tried to leave OJ several times but her family discouraged her as he bought them all sorts of gifts and paid for her sister's college. Doesn't excuse what he did but they already knew about his history and might have avoided her murder had they not convinced her to stay.

Eye witness says they saw OJ at LAX airport the night of the murders with a suspicious bag that he threw away at the airport trashcan. Police didn’t follow up on it in time, but realistically they only had about 2-3 days to recover it before it went to a land fill and the eye witness took a little long

The blood on the sock had EDTA in the blood drops, and the blood went through one side of the socks and transferred to the other side of the sock. This could not happen if a foot and ankle were in the sock. The droplets were more likely dropped on the socks from a dropper.

It was never explained by either side who’s car was parked in OJ driveway when the Limo picked him up. His daughter returned later that night and parked there. The only thing the jury asked to be read back was testimony about that car. So someone else was at least at the house that night and it has never been explained who it was or what they did that night.

Jill Shively testified that she saw OJ at 10:50. Prosecution need OJ home by 10:40 to be heard by Kato. That's why they didn't have her testify. The lack of honesty about this case is mind boggling.

Neither of these “witnesses” would have helped the prosecution, and would have given the defense more ammunition by pointing out how some people just want that 15 minutes of fame. In addition, the theory that OJ had stripped out of his bloody clothes to prevent getting the interior of the bronco soaked with blood would mean that he definitely would not be trying to draw attention to himself by doing road rage. Miss Shively also claimed she has made a phone call to the non emergency police number that night to report it, but police records show she did not.
No that's not the reason she didn't testify. The reason was that she was lying. Listen to her testimony in the grand jury, she only called police on Tuesday not Monday morning like she says, and LA police only talked to her on Wednesday, this is all on file with the LA POLICE 😊

I'm certain the first thing the LAPD did was review airport surveillance, which would have every angle of every square inch of LAX covered. It wouldn't take long, either, as they only need to look at the time between 11;15pm and 11:45pm, and a limo and OJ himself would not be difficult to identify in the video. What gets lost in all of this is that 2 people were murdered.
There is one more fumble that the prosecution made that could have been important. OJ Simpson’s tenant, Kato Kaelin, was asked by OJ Simpson to run out to a drug store and a supermarket to pick up a couple of items that are available in any supermarket or drug store. Simpson had a limo coming and was in hurry because he didn’t want to miss his plane. The closest supermarket to the Simpson house (Vicente Foods) and the closest drug store (Longs - now CVS) are both ½ mile away in the same direction. Yet Kaelin went to a drug store and supermarket in Venice about 3 miles away. The area of Venice that he went to was known at the time for drug dealing on the street. (There was a joke going around at the time that the biggest real estate deals in Venice were between gangs over who had the right to sell drugs on what street corners.) Anyhow, the point is Kaelin went over 5 miles out of his way to purchase what was available down the street. If the prosecution did their homework, they could have questioned Kaelin why he didn’t go to the stores down the street when Simpson had a plane to catch.

The media really hyped this up and made him look really bad but there’s things that don’t make sense. Still can't believe the state did the glove thing after thinking and debating on it for days. There was no upside. If it fits perfectly it's not particularly damning, but if it doesn't, you're screwed. Then again, I've always been mystified how everyone seems to think the gloves didn't fit when they were clearly fully on his hands. "Struggling" to pull them on doesn't mean anything. But of course none of this really matters because that jury was never going to convict.

He knew he was going to kill her when eating McDonald's, right? Kato was messing his plan up by riding along... He'd been working on the plan a while before that night... All the mistakes happen when he makes it home... Perhaps he should have just driven the Bronco to the airport and skipped the limo... This is hardest to wrap my head around.

Looking back on this after almost 30 years , it’s clear that the judge should have reigned in the defense. He let them get away with stuff that was not even closely tied to the case. Hence the length of trial. A true low point in our criminal justice system

The shoes sole prints in Nicole's blood were a definite source of guilt, very few pairs of that Bruno Mali shoe were sold here in the US,(something like 35 pairs) but we have OJ (who swore he hated those shoes and never wore them) out at a football game with them on camera. There was no doubt in my humble opinion, even climbing over the fence by Kato's room, which was also where the glove was dropped. Well he's back at the source where there is no lying.

4:59 IMMEDIATE DOWNVOTE. The detective didn’t say those things himself, he was reading lines written by a writer for a role. It was an audition tape. It was also recorded like eight years earlier and Mark Furman had a long and celebrated career as an inner city cop before the trial. Not to mention that at the time of the murders, OJ was regarded as one of the most beloved celebrities in LA by the police because he attended police fundraiser parties. OJ brought in thousands for the LAPD. If the police was going to frame, they would frame Mark Furman before they ever thought about losing the star power and money OJ brought them. You can even see it in the first interrogation tape with detectives, OJ was given super soft ball questions despite being covered in cuts and bruises. They loved The Juice! They couldn’t believe he did it until they found overwhelming amounts of his DNA on the scene.
Mark Furman requested early retirement from the LAPD because he stated his hatred for black people made it impossible for him to do his job. This was way before the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. The prosecutors knew about this and yet they still chose to put him on the witness stand when it wasn't necessary to do so.
Umm....No! She was interviewing him about his real experiences with LAPD for a screenplay she was planning on writing. Also, OJ wasn't covered in cuts & bruises. He had one cut. Great analysis here, especially the part about the 11 month trial. The jury, which was wanting a reason to acquit, was fed up after an 11 month trial. That and the fact Fuhrman was a bigot.

Mark Fuhrman pleaded the fifth at the trial for planting evidence. He not only 'found" a glove that was two sizes too small for OJ, he also "found" the "blood evidence" that amounted to specks and contained EDTA....after OJ's blood sample went missing. He knew OJ was already gone for his flight to Chicago.
OJwas found not guilty because Mark Fuhrman was proven to be racist and plead the fifth when asked if he planted evidence. He was either covering for his son Jason or the mov did it. But OJ did not kill two people and then get only a few specks on blood on himself.

Folks totally forget that aside from OJ being an athlete, he was also an actor, so by having OJ try on the gloves, it wouldn’t have been far fetched the theory that OJ could easily have pretended that the glove didn’t fit.
and one of OJ's last projects was for a TV movie/ potential series called Frog man in which he played a Navy Seal I believe who was an expert in use of knives as weapons. He practiced with the knives

In spite of all the time that OJ dedicated himself to finding the real killers, I'm beginning to believe that he might have had something to do with the murders. Something about this doesn't feel right. It just smells a little fishy to me.

The phones records were sealed by the judge and wasn't allowed in court as evidence. The phone records show that Nicole was talking to her mother at 11 pm. OJ was seen by the limo driver in his yard at 10:55 pm.

I believe it was most likely drug hitmen. A lot of people still don't know that Ron Goldman's boss the previous year, a man named Brett Cantor, was murdered the exact same way where somebody went to his place, stabbed him repeated in the upper body, then slit his throat from ear to ear, then pulled his tongue out through the slit in his throat, just like what happened to Ron and Nicole. The man's autopsy even showed the same kind of knife was used against him. How could his case be completely unrelated? As far as the book goes, keep in mind that the only involvement OJ actually had with the book was the selling of his name. He was offered money for the book deal after he got sued, and took it against legal advice. The publisher just wanted his name and not for him to interfere. The person who actually wrote the book was a man named Pablo Fenjves. What's so crazy was this man was actually testified in OJ's trial against OJ because he was on the side of the prosecution. Obviously, he was definitely not friend or ally of OJ, and he wrote a bunch of nonsense in the book accordingly.

It was made all about race during the trial by the media. The prosecution made some mistakes, but the whole defense was based on "that cop was a racist, who planted all the evidence because OJ is black", even though it was not possible for one person to plant that much evidence that fit OJ that perfectly. Police didn’t follow up on it in time, but realistically they only had about 2-3 days to recover it before it went to a land fill and the eye witness took a little long

The blood on the sock had EDTA in the blood drops, and the blood went through one side of the socks and transferred to the other side of the sock. This could not happen if a foot and ankle were in the sock. The droplets were more likely dropped on the socks from a dropper.

It was never explained by either side who’s car was parked in OJ driveway when the Limo picked him up. His daughter returned later that night and parked there. The only thing the jury asked to be read back was testimony about that car. So someone else was at least at the house that night and it has never been explained who it was or what they did that night.

Jill Shively testified that she saw OJ at 10:50. Prosecution need OJ home by 10:40 to be heard by Kato. That's why they didn't have her testify. The lack of honesty about this case is mind boggling.

Neither of these “witnesses” would have helped the prosecution, and would have given the defense more ammunition by pointing out how some people just want that 15 minutes of fame. In addition, the theory that OJ had stripped out of his bloody clothes to prevent getting the interior of the bronco soaked with blood would mean that he definitely would not be trying to draw attention to himself by doing road rage. Miss Shively also claimed she has made a phone call to the non emergency police number that night to report it, but police records show she did not.
No that's not the reason she didn't testify. The reason was that she was lying. Listen to her testimony in the grand jury, she only called police on Tuesday not Monday morning like she says, and LA police only talked to her on Wednesday, this is all on file with the LA POLICE 😊

I'm certain the first thing the LAPD did was review airport surveillance, which would have every angle of every square inch of LAX covered. It wouldn't take long, either, as they only need to look at the time between 11;15pm and 11:45pm, and a limo and OJ himself would not be difficult to identify in the video. What gets lost in all of this is that 2 people were murdered.
There is one more fumble that the prosecution made that could have been important.
OJ Simpson’s tenant, Kato Kaelin, was asked by OJ Simpson to run out to a drug store and a supermarket to pick up a couple of items that are available in any supermarket or drug store. Simpson had a limo coming and was in hurry because he didn’t want to miss his plane. The closest supermarket to the Simpson house (Vicente Foods) and the closest drug store (Longs - now CVS) are both ½ mile away in the same direction.
Yet Kaelin went to a drug store and supermarket in Venice about 3 miles away. The area of Venice that he went to was known at the time for drug dealing on the street. (There was a joke going around at the time that the biggest real estate deals in Venice were between gangs over who had the right to sell drugs on what street corners.)
Anyhow, the point is Kaelin went over 5 miles out of his way to purchase what was available down the street. If the prosecution did their homework, they could have questioned Kaelin why he didn’t go to the stores down the street when Simpson had a plane to catch.

The shoes sole prints in Nicole's blood were a definite source of guilt, very few pairs of that Bruno Mali shoe were sold here in the US,(something like 35 pairs) but we have OJ (who swore he hated those shoes and never wore them) out at a football game with them on camera. 4:59 IMMEDIATE DOWNVOTE. The detective didn’t say those things himself, he was reading lines written by a writer for a role. It was an audition tape. It was also recorded like eight years earlier and Mark Furman had a long and celebrated career as an inner city cop before the trial.
Not to mention that at the time of the murders, OJ was regarded as one of the most beloved celebrities in LA by the police because he attended police fundraiser parties. OJ brought in thousands for the LAPD.
If the police was going to frame, they would frame Mark Furman before they ever thought about losing the star power and money OJ brought them. You can even see it in the first interrogation tape with detectives, OJ was given super soft ball questions despite being covered in cuts and bruises. They loved The Juice! They couldn’t believe he did it until they found overwhelming amounts of his DNA on the scene.
Mark Furman requested early retirement from the LAPD because he stated his hatred for black people made it impossible for him to do his job. This was way before the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. The prosecutors knew about this and yet they still chose to put him on the witness stand when it wasn't necessary to do so.

For those who continue to think oj did it here's a couple things to ponder on one that was a brutal crime scene alot of blood, according to the police and medical examiner who examined ron goldman they all came to the conclusion that ron put up a hell of a fight for his life i believe he was an martial arts guy also but when oj was examined he had no bruises on his body only one small cut to one of his fingers, my question would be who was ron goldman fighting back against that night? It wasn't oj, the next thing is Fuhrman pleading the 5th on almost every question his second time on the stand including did he manufacture any evidence in that case, he could have easily answered No to that question and plead the 5th on everything else, once he plead the 5th to that specific question now you have to throw everything out besides the initial crime scene evidence, that mean the blood on and in the bronco, the blood found at oj's house and the bloody glove found at his house, none of that means nothing now because Fuhrman the 5th so it's a chance all on that was planted evidence.....And the gloves didn't fit on top of all of that, and the blood on them did not make them shrink that's nonsense, I always believed it was multiple ppl who committed the murders but the prosecution based their case on the domestic violence issues oj and nicole had.....

I believe it was most likely drug hitmen. A lot of people still don't know that Ron Goldman's boss the previous year, a man named Brett Cantor, was murdered the exact same way where somebody went to his place, stabbed him repeated in the upper body, then slit his throat from ear to ear, then pulled his tongue out through the slit in his throat, just like what happened to Ron and Nicole. The man's autopsy even showed the same kind of knife was used against him.
How could his case be completely unrelated?
As far as the book goes, keep in mind that the only involvement OJ actually had with the book was the selling of his name. He was offered money for the book deal after he got sued, and took it against legal advice. The publisher just wanted his name and not for him to interfere.
The person who actually wrote the book was a man named Pablo Fenjves. What's so crazy was this man was actually testified in OJ's trial against OJ because he was on the side of the prosecution.
Obviously, he was definitely not friend or ally of OJ, and he wrote a bunch of nonsense in the book accordingly.
