- In 1986 the Poynter Institute interviewed Ben Bradlee for its Newsleaders videotape series.
Newsleaders was a series of videotape interviews with outstanding journalism leaders. The series was produced by Marion Poynter and Don Baldwin.
It takes courage to be a leader and do the right thing. Ah.....but the satisfaction of being proved right is supreme. Thank you. Washington post and their staff

I was in the 6th grade in Alexandria, VA, across the Potomac from Washington, D.C.. I vividly remember watching the Watergate hearings live while in class at Groveton Elementary. I don't know why I am just seeing this video for the first time, but I am glad to have seen it now. I don't know what curriculum my teachers choose to jettison in order to watch the hearings all day, but few events in history, and I am a historian now (BA), are as impactful as the Nixon/Agnew and Nixon/Ford Presidencies. There is NOTHING like watching history in the making when you know it for what it is, particularly as a 6th grader.
Current events, the same way when I was in the 6th grade watching the moment President Reagan was shot.
