  • In 1986 the Poynter Institute interviewed Ben Bradlee for its Newsleaders videotape series.
    Newsleaders was a series of videotape interviews with outstanding journalism leaders. The series was produced by Marion Poynter and Don Baldwin.

    I was in the 6th grade in Alexandria, VA, across the Potomac from Washington, D.C.. I vividly remember watching the Watergate hearings live while in class at Groveton Elementary. I don't know why I am just seeing this video for the first time, but I am glad to have seen it now. I don't know what curriculum my teachers choose to jettison in order to watch the hearings all day, but few events in history, and I am a historian now (BA), are as impactful as the Nixon/Agnew and Nixon/Ford Presidencies. There is NOTHING like watching history in the making when you know it for what it is, particularly as a 6th grader.

      Current events, the same way when I was in the 6th grade watching the moment President Reagan was shot.

    A entrevista é no idioma inglês e eu não sei este idioma. Não pude aproveitar o suficiente, mas as imagens são esclarecedoras quanto ao que devemos entender, principalmente a paixão do entrevistado pelo jornalismo. Que pena! Acho que uma dublagem tornaria esta entrevista encantadora.
