    Sooo glad I recommended you go to Dos Punts and that you found some yarn you liked. I love their displays so much!!! Your yarn from Ireland and Scotland is also lovely. Great haul!

    I feel the same way about woollen and worsted spinning! My worsted spinning is so much more consistent and my woollen makes me feel like a beginner again! It's definitely frustrating but we'll get there!!!!

    my personal fave ways to style a cardigan is either with a longer flowy skirt with a tank or tee, for a more cutesy look, and I think the light blue would work well with a patterned skirt, maybe some floral motifs? I also love wearing oversized cardigans with a graphic tee and baggy pants for a more street style and comfortable look. but I think the outfit your wearing works wonderful as well

    My mum once sent me a photo of a book which mentioned milk fibre fabric/yarn. It says: "Research into casein, a type of milk protein fibre production, dates back to the 1930s. During the early postwar years, milk fibre was often used as a wool substitute. There are several branded milk fibres available, including Milkofil and Lenpur. QMilch fibres are produced from waste milk, producing exceptionally smooth fibres more akin to silk than wool. Milk production is an eco-friendly process." (I'm not sure to what extent the final statement can be believed, given the emissions we know come from dairy farming). It also mentions that milk fibres are antibacterial and antifungal. The book is "Fabric for Fashion: The Swatch Book" and has lots of samples of different fabrics in it.

    Also, as someone who doesn’t spin-I am curious about it and like hearing more in bits and bobs from people who I’ve already subscribed to for knitting content! Makes it less intimidating to potentially get into it in the future, and in the meantime it removes the pressure of a whole video/podcast that assumes background knowledge and technical expertise I don’t yet have.
    Also, it’s nice to hear other people be excited about learning something new and be proud of their continued efforts to improve rather than judging themselves by output exclusively! We need more of that positivity in the world.

    Bought my Flock tickets. I am hoping to run into all the knitting youtubers I watch religiously 😃
    I think your light blue cardigan would look fantastic with a crisp white t-shirt (any neckline) or button up. Also the colour of denim you are wearing looks very good. Too light is probably not good but a bit darker looks great. For a more summery look linen pants or a linen skirt would be nice.

    If you are still in AR, I hope you can stop by Arkansas Yarn Co. Its in Malvern, not far outside Hot Springs. Definitely worth the trip to see the store and meet Lorri!

    Arkansas Yarn Co is between Hot Springs and Little Rock. Yarn Candy is in Little Rock. I'm not sure if there is a shop in Eureka Springs but there IS a haunted hotel

    I think the blue cardigan would look really nice with black pants (jeans or leggings) and a white tee or a white and black striped tee would look adorable.

    I think the cardigan looks perfect with the jeans you have on. Colourwise I would probably put it with a dark grey or bright blue tee 🤔

    The studio donegal tweed is either Aran tweed, if it looks more like an aran weight single ply, which has 80m per 50g, or Darnie if it's 4ply, which has 410m per 100g.
    To me, from what i can see on the screen, it looks more like Aran tweed

    • @emweecurt
      @emweecurt  26 днів тому

      I agree I think it's the aran tweed! Thank you!

    Your cardigan looks gorgeous, and I think it looks lovely as you've styled it, but I also disagree with you (a little) and think it would look lovely with white, particularly if you added a stronger cool blue to the outfit. I also think it went beautifully with the periwinkle yarn you're unsure of. I think it's a really pretty yarn, though I was dubious seeing the unspun fibres together. Spun up I think it looks like it would make a beautiful shawl.
    Do you happen to know what amount of ease you have in the cardigan? I'm looking for something with a similar level of ease but a lot of the projects for that particular cardigan seem to have a lot less ease than yours.
