Ghost Immobilisers - what are they? Ghost Immobilisers render a vehicle immovable due to its hidden tiny & untraceable control unit connected directly to the CAN bus (data wires of a vehicle) and its user PIN start sequence.
When compared, make it a 4 run dragrace, switching the sides of the road every run. Perhaps more honest. Btw, I'm not that into dragrace to begin with. You can only compare when you leave the human element out of the comparison. So you can run each car separate, using instruments to measure how quick a car is.
I’ve owned both, the JCW is much quicker. Both on accelerating from start and roll on acceleration. Had a F56 cooper s from new for 2 years, then changed it for a JCW which I’ve had for nearly 3 years. The JCW has gone in for the odd fault and servicing in that time (the last was a parking sensor issue which took 3 visits to the dealer to sort out!). Each time I had a Cooper s as a courtesy car, and each time I noticed it was definitely slower. As soon as I picked up my JCW each time, you can feel straight away the extra power and faster acceleration. This video is misleading.

We also thought that the difference was going to be bigger given the horsepower difference...
You are right! Thanks for your feedback! We will keep these things in mind for our next videos 😊
Great road! Where is this?
Secret location 🤐
I have the exact 3 door S and she's quick but more is more.
Damn, I’ll go save £5,000 and and pick the CooperS
👍
Cool story bro
Ok 🗿
John Cooper Works !
I would've liked to see some dash cam footage as well, but this is not a critique of the video.
My gf has a F56 Cooper S and it's insanely fun to drive and feels super quick for only 190 HP, even more fun than my M240 😂😂😂
The Works should have out run the S easily ! Given the BHP difference.... I have a Works and wife has an S and the works is considerably quicker
Feels quicker but feelings can be deceptive.
Im so sorry to say that our Mini Cooper S 2015 did 260 km/h stock....but now when its tuned it goes 290 km/h with the 250 HP
Yes
I have a mini one d it might not be as quick as this but it's quick enough for me
Jcw is pricey because there now bmw engines and can do a lot more mods with it , I have the 2.0 jcw and it’s unbelievably quick
SET IN STONE FIFE LTD stonemasons and builders The JCW is indeed verrrry quick when we compare it with other hothatches!
So is the S model. It's a full BMW as well.
*0:06* music? 😄😎
why tyres are so thin?
I used to have a supercharged John works 😭
Kai Yznaga-Smart Which car do you currently own?
CSR TV i still own a Mini Cooper but it’s a newer four door model. Just the basic Cooper. But I used to have a 2007 two door supercharged JW. It was yellow and beautiful. I’m still grieving 😂
Bgm..... which music.?
close, but the horsepower is one thing, the upgraded suspension and brakes is another
Debating on buying my 2017 S when the lease is up or leasing just one more and then buying. I want a car I can keep for 10 years or more.
The Mini Cooper S 2017 is indeed a good choice but I don't know if you can/will keep this car for 10 years.
i dont think so. for 10 yrs, Mini cooper? Japanese cars may be
My wife finally parted with her 2006 Cooper S. 140,000 miles. Only sold because her bad left knee can’t handle the clutch ( lots of stop and go commuting). Awaiting delivery of her new 2020 Cooper S. So yeah it can last for 10 years. BTW she got over 100,000 miles on original clutch.
Whats the song called ???
Dynoro - Hangover (Original Mix).
Same engine just programmed different
You're right!
JCW has a larger turbo, and the race is a little unfair considering the Cooper S is a non facelift and the JCW is the newer more emission conscious ECU.

You've got a point there! Thanks for your feedback, we will keep these things in mind for our next videos 😊
ECU map is different, turbo is bigger, different pistons thus different compression ratio (10 vs 11:1) but essentially the same
Got mine SD 170 fuking awesome sadly not that loud But Maybe in the future upgrade.
Love My JCW 2012
Not really much need for the jcw considering the price hike 👍🏻
now do a r53 JCW vs the new ones :p
Many of you are asking about this! We will try to arrange that, but we can't promise anything 😉
Nice video !
OCF Productions Thanks man! 😊
❤❤ 120 Km (Autoroute) 60Km (La ville ) ❤❤
Where do you get those dark taillights and spoiler from the cooper s?!
Great sound
*puts glasses on* Hmm, Glad I just got the S
Sound of mini jcw 211hp of 2007
Almost no difference between the 2 in terms of straight line speed? Until the 3rd go at least… wow
So who won wtf
Haha. Totally
The real race is which one has the timing chain tensioner fail the fastest.
F56's arent really known for timing chain issues like the previous Gen.
@@buffaloman9671 I hope not.
These are B48, not N14/N18.
Do an R53 Cooper s vs a new Cooper S
Many of you on this channel are asking for a race against the R53. It is hard to find someone with this type of car who wants to join for a video... But we keep looking!
I have one ! yellow white top 2003 supercharged
selling it for $3500 clean title
even has a SPARE runflat
Astoria, Oregon
Sounds like a good deal!
Bumpers jcw is better
1/4?
Emilio Bravo What do you mean?
CSR TV quarter mile numbers, i guess
cookiemonstahmetal Thanks for helping me out 😉 1/4 Mile Mini Cooper S: 14,7 seconds and Mini Cooper JCW: 14,2 seconds.
CSR TV i mean if the race was 1/4 mile. Because it looks 200 mts. I have run against mini cooper s in 1/4 mile and the jcw its a lot faster than the video

Best review ever !!!!
my cooper s with lightweight flywheel, FMIC, CAI, and turbo muffler delete will fuck that JCW up at a fraction of the cost and it ain't even tuned yet, just saying ^___^
What about when it gets to a corner, will lose
its not that huge difference, maybe he did not use the launch control system in the JCW !!
the S also has Launch Control....
legit lit
Jordy Vandenbussche Thanks mate! 🤙🏼
J ai la même mais la gp 2020
they were basically the same!
The cooper s isnt bad at all the jcw is just a lil quicker(not much)
Are these cars automatic?why not manual?sounds auto.
Yes, both Mini's have automatic gearboxes.
diddydavid67 because if it was manual the win could come down to user error/expertise not just the car itself
No manual offered in the USA this year. Dealer said may have been due to Brexit issue. Dont know for sure.
well the different is there but also not the best comparison. That S is the older version with 200hp where the new S same year of that JCW on the video has only 189 hp. Do it fair.
Basically the old version is closer to the new jcw.
*cries in r50*
why? r50 is an amazing car
vs Perodua Kelisa (Malaysia)
😂😂
