The arches and I didn't get along. They kept turning. So I ditched them and went looking for another circular shawl pattern. I saw one using double treble stitches. So I practiced making some. I didn't like her crochet style. So I came back to this video because I liked how you did the increases. I substituted the row that connects the arches with half double stitches. I like how it came out. I didn't put the last group of what would have been arches because I was running out of yarn and didn't have a 4th cake. I am going to make a yellow one next. I thank you for doing this video. I learned a lot.
I just finished this beautiful shawl😅 this was my first ever big project, and it turned out gorgeous😍. i really appreciate the way you explain. Thank you, Ma'am❤
Hello dear Ursula ... I have watched it the whole way through ... Once my yarn has arrived I will then watch it again as I go & I will read the pattern too ... I've got to do more of pattern reading so I feel more confident with it, so thank you for all the time you spent make such a fantastic video tutorial ❤
Good morning beautiful Ursula. I guess it is more around noon your time, I am just getting up and around, it is 5:49am my time this Wednesday Jan. 24th, 2024. We are still having morning rain but I am so so happy it is warmer outside. I actually woke up feeling much better with it being warmer outside. Sending much love your way, was running your playlist all night. Love / Hugs!
Hi beautiful Ursula. I am here watching and supporting! Hope you are having a beautiful Sunday today is Oct. 15th, 2023. Granny Dee is coming on in about 2 minutes if not already on, but I will leave this video playing as well, since I have 2 monitors.. Wow, What you are forming and making with your Crescent Lace Shawl is very beautiful and I simply love the GREEN Colorway! Much love always~~Sindy Lou Lou.
Thank you for this, can't wait to make this if I ever finish the skull Granny Square cardigan. One more row of skulls to go LOL I did finish the sleeves today! Sending well wishes xo

Hi there Thankyou so much for this great crochet along .. it is beautifully clear… I’m so pleased with my progress so far and have just purchased the pattern as I’d love to make another and experiment with the beads Thankyou once again
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have a condition that causes repeated traumatic brain injury, which makes learning anything and completing anything extremely difficult for me. I have watched so many shawl tutorials in hopes of making my oldest granddaughter one for her College graduation in December. I have failed at every attempt, no matter how easy they say the pattern is! This one is perfect and I'm so glad that I did not give up looking! You are the Best!
Hi, Ursula, I got your pattern through Dana's Wanderlust Crochet a few months ago (thank you!). I made an abbreviated version of it (capelet length) with some sport weight Darn Good Yarn sport weight silk, and gave it to a friend in my crochet group, and she LOVES it! I'll have to do it again, full-size AND with the beadwork! Thanks again for this gorgeous and EASY pattern. Have a great day. 🐞
From Ivory Coast in africa....I have already realised one of your shawl for a gift and it was so beautiful that i made an other one for me. Thanks a lot for all your wonderful and easy tutorial and all the advices. Merci pour tout vos conseils et votre patience.
I love this shawl. First time trying the crescent. I did have to modify it a tad. I just couldn't get my tension right to make the arches and dcs in the next row to be neat. I ended up decreasing the chains. It still turned out nice. Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you SO much for the crescent shaped shawls and wrap tutorials. I don't like the triangle shaped shawls and have been searching for well done crescent projects. I found them here!! I purchased the written pattern for the count my blessings shawl and am currently working on it.
what a lovely pattern!! i think this one would be perfect for my rainbow glitter cake!! i have one question. would making the arches a little shorter, say ch5 instead of chain 7, still work? or would it change too much?
Dearest Ursula I’ve just started my second shawl in this design and plan to add beads what size of bead might you use with a soft almost fingering weight cotton? … I adore my first shawl in this pattern 🧡
Hi Carol. I can better answer if you can tell me, did you buy the yarn in South Africa or in another country? For a fingering weight cotton I've used the recommended beads in this shawl which was 4mm glass beads (which is number 6 beads). If the recommended hook size (on the ball band) is 4mm or smaller, then the 4mm/#6 glass bead is correct. Anything thicker would be a 6mm glass bead. That is what you would google if you live in South Africa. Let me know how it goes.

Fantastic. The amount of chains was equal to the height of a row. I'm very happy that it worked out for you.
This is so gorgeous. Thank you for the tutorial
