As you all know, mental health is as important as an athlete’s physical health. Hearing Shilese Jones say that she believes in herself and is confident that she has more to offer feels heartwarming.
However, it appears that there is a slight hitch in the attainment of her Olympic dreams at this time; at least according to recent news.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time that the 21-year-old American artistic gymnast’s Olympic dreams were put on hold. But, then and now, it wasn’t because she wasn’t skilled enough. Some of you may remember that at the beginning of 2021, Shilese seemed like a sure choice for Team USA, who competed in the Tokyo Olympics that summer. Unfortunately, early in the year, the then-19-year-old gymnast was hit during a bad car accident.

My understanding is she’s FINE. She had tweaked her shoulder in practice and so it didn’t get Worse she didn’t compete at Nationals. She Did do warmups and she was great. She’ll be Great next weekend!

If Shilese makes the team her birthday is on opening night of the Olympic games and Artistic Gymnastics starts on the 27th and runs through the 5th of August
