    This is amazing. Have a customer who had roofing done and roofers popped a nail in the liquid line. This will make repairing that much safer than putting a torch near the roof. Thank you for the demonstration!

    Thank you for taking the time to make and send the video.
    Been sweating copper for 43 years in the industry, still always looking at ways to work smarter, not harder. I've imbraced theses a couple years ago. I used this brand in tight attics, ductless system and forced air. I use the 410a rated ones that are permanent, not quick released. Yes, nothing is perfect, you also can have small leaks sweating copper, no matter how great at it, you think you are.
    As stated, prep work is a must and pressure testing with a digital gauge for minimum of 1 hour, while you do clean up, is a must. Mini splits, 24hrs, if possible.
    Over years of lugging around nitro tanks in all kinds of conditions, these will help, not stop, you from blowing out discs in your lower back and other muscle, joints long-term.
    Thank you again for posting and opening up mind's to other options.
    Some will embrace change as another tool for the toolbox, others will not, which is fine.

    Absolutely amazing technology! Grandfather was up under his house fixing a copper water line that had ruptured. This was late at night. He was old-school soldering a new piece back in.
    If he had this technology > he'd been done lightening fast. The sad thing is he died several days later. This was not the way to spend your last days. He never called me to help him > as I would have came running at his first call!
    It happened in 1989. I marvel at the new technology and heavily use it! It has made my life wonderful.

    • @JumpermanTech
      @JumpermanTech  2 роки тому +5

      It really is amazing technology. This fitting is rated for refrigerant (Which is a type of gas found in air conditioners and refrigerators) piping which holds more pressure than water. They do have similar style fittings where you just push to connect for water lines. It would have definitely been much easier for your grandfather. May he rest in peace 🙏 Sounds like a strong and independent man. Much respect. Thank you for watching & commenting. Enjoy the rest of your weekend 🔧⚡️

    I've never used Zoomlock. If I understand correctly, Sporlan specifications for the Zoomlock Max and Zoomlock Push stiipulate Residential applications. I could be wrong on that, so it's best to contact Sporlan technical support.

    • @JumpermanTech
      @JumpermanTech  2 роки тому +2

      Zoomlock max requires a crimping tool to secure the fitting suitable for refrigerant lines and zoomlock push requires no tools so you just push to connect refrigerant fittings like in this video. Just a new style and innovation. As far as applications, it would def be based on the pressures they can handle where there is a slight difference between the two. This is new technology for me and I'm interested in seeing how it holds up. Those crimping/press tools are so expensive. Glad they came out with an alternative. Thanks for watching & commenting 🔧⚡️

    There's one inherent failure problem with these. That it uses plastic( teflon I hope) to seal the pressure lines. Since the fittings are exposed to the elements, from the sun drying it out, to the copper pipe expanding and contracting from temperature slowing stretching the plastic so that on a cold night it will leak. So knowing that fact and also they haven't been out on the market for that long. The longevity of these is unknown and it might fail in a week or it may even last 5+ years(maybe). But at some point they will fail.So unless you are using them as a way for job security to put new fittings and recharge the ac more frequently. And your customers don't mind paying you for a avoidable service charges. more power to ya

    • @lakestatebullies7391
      @lakestatebullies7391 2 роки тому +1

      I find it comical that guys always say these will fail. People act as if gaskets are a new thing. Just an example is transmission and fuel lines on vehicles use push in fitting. Air lines for compressors lines use push lock and they run 100 plus psi. Hell if you wanna get technical the ac unit already has gaskets in it.

      how do you know? You don't know about these anymore than you probably don't know about anything else. Next I suppose you're going to tell us all how bad sharkbite's are, they don't last, against code, blah blah blah. Well Jr, sharkbites are rated for BEHIND WALL applications.... so if they're rated and approved for that, geee, I guess they do work or are you going to claim they all leak after 2 weeks too? I know, that is probably your job. You are the unofficial fitting inspector. You go around the globe, day and night, inspecting EVERYONE'S fittings to see if they leak... then you always retrace your steps every two weeks to come back to see if they're leaking... that's how you know they all leak, right????

    Never ever trust these fitting as a permanent setup. Brazing works great for decades, if done right brazing is for life. These fitting will have short lifespan.

      Yea you still gonna have to make the hardest braze with or without this technology and that's where the suction line goes into the condenser valve. All those units have different outer diameter valve connection ports.

    • @8Seven65
      @8Seven65 Рік тому +3

      That being said, blasting fire at something to connect them is kinda silly. I believe it's unnecessary and outdated. Why subject the valves, filters, windings etc to the heat, and why introduce flux carbon and metal shavings to a system that we are supposed to be heretically sealing with pure refrigerant inside? Brazing is unnecessarily hot, dirty, dangerous, and time consuming, not to mention all the shit you need to haul in your truck for the process. It will always have its place, but I believe it will only be used for specialty situations in the future.

      When I am working on a Sub Zero in a 10 million dollar mansion replacing a compressor throwing a torch in a confined space, even with fiberglass blankets it’s a high risk of fire/damage to surrounding components and/or complaints from customers smelling the vaporized flux/solder/oils inside the line.
      Perfect analogy @8seven65, it’s simply outdated. This same argument was presented in the plumbing industry when shark bite/john guest compression fittings and so on started replacing glue/solder.

    If you cant solder just say so!, Southern men think this is another diversifying Yankee joke, It's too expensive to use! investing in the crimp tool that is necessary is being avoided here.
