The last ending is so damn good that it made me forgot how non sense the whole story was
God the story was such a mess that it annoyed me
There is more to this ending if you max pawn affinity. My pawn turned back into herself when she was on the big dragon's heart and thanked me.
same thing happened with me, made the scene a lot more special.
You can see he just rushed through everything and got most shitty endings for almost all characters lol
I didn't rush at all and had no idea this could happen. Hell, I didn't even know pawn affinity existed.
I didn't know pawn affinity was a thing, but my pawn turned back during this as well. I cried.
Dude got the worst outcome there should be more cutscenes like one with raghall and phaesus. I was hoping to see all possible cutscenes
Something about seeing your pawn play a big part in the ending after spending 100 hours with them made me tear up a lil bit. I wasnt expecting such a ending. This game will be my favorite for a while.

Something is missing here. In my game, the shadow-dragon momentarily transformed back into the shape of the pawn, it's humanoid shape and not shadow-dragon shape. The speech was a lot more personal and heartfelt, too.
Happened to me too. Luckily I recorded it
The exact lines were
"You have given me a gift beyond measure: a fledgling will that burns within my breast"
"Yet for your sake, I would fain relinquish all I have--"
"All that I am"
"Master!"
And then she got grabbed and threw away same as in the video. Not sure if this depends on their base personality/ their relationship point or sth but it's pretty cool it leads to different cutscene even if it's just a small change
(Still I prefer the ending in DD1 where you sacrifice yourself, giving your body and freedom to your pawn)
@@Korwies It depends on your affinity with the pawn. If you gave them a drink at the bar enough times for example. Maybe not letting them get killed? Treating them like people? Don't know for sure how affinity increases. But it's like the romance system almost.

@@wolfofdoom3294 My pawn started to blush/smile at me and her dialogue changed after I took her to the barbershop a few times to change her hair and makeup. I think you just have to be kind to your pawn and look after them well and that raises their affinity.;

Pathfinder doesn't sound as good as Grigori.
The shadow dragon though? Done perfectly. The struggle to mantain control. The voice. The points being made. Perfect.
just so people know, if you help the main characters and do most of the quests related to people, it will show up in the ending credits. This person didn't do Sven, the elves, etc special quests....to open up the unique cut scenes
I was blown away when I got to this ending and was kind of taken off guard because I wasn't expecting it to end once I touched that last pillar. But it was really cool seeing your pawn take part in the ending cinematic.

@@C3lticlord she does return to the bordelrie during the unmoored world event but i read somewhere that after finishing her quest line, she's actually supposed to leave so that's why we can't find bby girl 😢so not sure if her ending up at the bordelrie during the unmoored world event is some type of bug

The ending doesn’t feel right without a banger like Aubrey Ashburn’s “Eternal Return” playing during the credits
They really shot themselves in the foot in the music department with this game, non of the amazing tracks, not even into free or even the title screen of the first game, all we get is the advantage state theme
@@stronensycharte64 Into Free was commissioned from a band so there's legal shenanigan's to that ordeal, but there's absolutely no reason Eternal Return doesn't play during the credits or either of the dragon fights😔
Now that the cycle has ended there is no meaning in playing eternal return i think they really did a great job anyway the true end gave so much meaning on everything loved it
@@pravda788 There is an ending where you adhere to the cycle by sitting on your throne, Eternal Return should've 100% played during either that or the battle with the giant dragon in the true ending.

I liked the ending but it wasnt as good as fighting God at the end & becoming the new God.
Also I thought i was going to fight the Brine water entity as final boss.

The Brime water entity is the allmighty dragon you fight at the end. It's been him all the time, ensuring his puppet show ran smoothly.
@@CheetoZo_3 not exactly as the everfall never opened, which should've happened after the dragon is slain. who know's maybe their remaking it as we speak along side bitter black isle, and hopefully BBI is much more horror themed. since that expansion feels like your playing Darkest Dungeon with how scarce the supplies are and everything can wipe the party out.

Did you know Talos Stormcrown actually used a Golem called "Numidium" to destroy the high elves armies in the summer set isles to conquer the rest of Tamriel
Its like a thousand feet tall and can warp reality. It was not until Zuren Arctis (Talos's Imperial Battlemage) who used his magic to destroy it creating a giant crater...
I found it interesting cause there is a giant Golum in DD2 named Talos and Talos in Elder Scrolls used a Golum to destroy everything, pretty cool, though I'm sure there is a real life statue called Talos which inspired these two

The ending of this is most likely setting it up for a dragons dogma 3 yet in this one it’s ur choice that will make the game not the pathfinders. Or dlc because that is a very vague way to end it
The only thing that saved the first one was that the main pawn survived, but the true ending of DD2 died both the arisen and the main pawn.
I feel so fucking hopeless😢
Feel good knowing that you helped give the world its own future, free from the the cycle of the dragon. And if you did all the side quests, the world is in a much better place with a greater chance of cooperation in the future too. Also is other said the ending is very vague on whether or not you actually died, the true ending in the first game is pretty clear that you're gone (although you give your body to your pawn so you're technically still there), so there's a chance for some epilogue DLC or extended ending in the future.

Nah you're definitely dead, there's a scene during the credits where your beloved will look out at the ocean, alone, as if they're mourning you.
And Sven will be sitting on the Throne of Vermund too, this video shown that this Arisen probably had High Affinity with Sven (hence to why he looked into the Ocean)
I think the only ending that might get a DLC could be the Good Ending. It feels odd that you simply sit on the Throne and the screen turns to Black, like something is missing there or there is room for expansion. Like Now there is no Reason to sit on the Throne and Skip the UnMoored World but it still is classified as the 'Good' Ending.
EDIT: yes, you bring Peace to the World without ending the Cycle... But that ending has like no cinematics or anything.
The Bad ending where u walk away and sit on the Throne where your character shows clear signs of guilt and failure is already more then the Good Ending.

so from what i am getting at is another upstart Zealot is attempting to become a god, and is the sole reason why the arisen is at slave mine at the beginning. as well as the spread of the Dragon Plague.
you get different ending cutscenes depending on what side quests you do, I had the elf daughter in my ending
It's whoever you have the highest affinity with, mine was annoyingly the elf guy

@givenofuckz2313 it's affinity based, so doing quests for him and doing the escort missions skyrockets his affinity. Because he has so many individual quests, he's probably gonna be your highest affinity person unless you gift others
@@Synthooo I'm not talking about the beloved I'm talking about there's videos of the main characters doing actions such as your mercenary rival (forget his name) and the elf daughter tending to the arborheart sprout, I think it depends on what side quests you finished.

How do you survive the dragon ride? I have to run up the side of the wing or something while the brine is behind me and then the dragon just blows a huge unavoidable sheet of fire and I die then it just says give up or load from last save to do the exact same thing please help

I honestly feel like getting dragonsplague and killing everyone in vernworth in the beginning of my playthrough killed the game for me . I missed out on a lot of sidequests and a bunch of experiences im watching others have because i didnt know which npcs to use my wakestones on to revive. This game wouldve been so much better without dragonsplague imo. Just beat the game after 65 hours
this is honestly way better than the ending i got, but i still dont like the fade to black and just cutting to the titlescreen, no hardcore mode, no everfall, i likes the game, but that ending really was just not what i had hoped
Yeah the normal endings really suck, but this is the true ending. So if u still did not get it u still have 5+ hours extra content to play
@@Shishiooo i already saw the ending, what i want is something everfall adjacent. the fact that getting to the dragon was hardly a fight just a brisk jog and an elevator away was also pretty disappointing. i didnt want an inferior version of the cults last stand then the dragon fight immediately after. atleast the edgy cult guy summoned two wights for us to fight but in this we just got a group of weak nobodies after a fight with a guy you can easily stagger once and throw off the edge.
i liked the game but i really wanted to fight someone elses arisen, without that all we have is pawns, which is nice but lackluster to me.
@@username172 I definitely get where you’re coming from it felt unfinished and rushed. The game is also too easy after a certain lvl, im in NG+ lvl 50+ and I just can’t find any challenge even without pawns. I really love the combat I just hope they add a more difficult mode in the future

everyone talking about the pawn ending, but its not just the pawn, but also if you finished side quests the scenes at the end show those people there as well and it feels way more "nostalgic" thinking back how you did those quests and idk, this game is just misunderstood masterpiece

Dragon dogma 1 ending is far better and make sense. Even the lyrics of the song coils of light said “ finish the cycle of eternal return “ because the dragon is the result of arisen being failed of beating the seneschal. We finish the cycle by becoming a seneschal and kill ourself with godsbane blade
This is a huge question I have for the endgame of dd2 . How do I get the armor shown in this video? I've been looking everywhere on the internet and in the game, and yet I can't find it. Does anyone here know how to get it?
endgame vendor in the sunken shrine place. Sells best gear for wyrmcrystals.
You buy it from the dragon forged, either in the forsaken world (at the sunken shrine) or in ng plus (wherein you can buy it from the very start)
@@stonaraptor8196he got like an item for each class in each category but after buying a couple of stuff i went back to him to get the magic bow and see if it outdid the dragonbreath one after smithing, but suddenly he stopped giving his menu and repeated the same phrase all the time.

How do you bring talos back? I got the true ending just no talos scene.
You need to hurry up after you get your pawn back. You get a quest where you have to help Phaesus with the Talos. The thing is that if you take to long you cannot do it

I wonder, if they do dlc I think it should play on after the Arisen sacrifices themselves. Like maybe we find ourselves in a world between worlds, go up against the pathfinder or something like that
Erh. You know all the place they show are populated by the side quest people you saved an relocalized before the last boss?
at 10:40 for whatever reason, my pawn went back to human form at this part and talked to me then transformed back to the dragon before she was grabbed.

I preferred the ending from the first one, with the Seneschal. I mean, that's an important step in the cycle, to defeat the Seneschal, or to fail and become the new dragon
Huh, during my ending my at around 11:06 my pawn Waluigi appeared in his human form by the dragons heart while thanking me before becoming the blood dragon again and getting tossed away. Wonder why the difference is. His dialogue was a bit more endearing than the one in this video, he has the male straightforward voice and he seemed to be more thankful of our journey together than anything.
Apparently there's a hidden affinity system for pawns, and when it's maxed, you get your pawn turning into their basic form and that cute dialogue.
Congrats bro you were a good arisen to your pawn.
Huh seems pretty neat. I never let him bleed out when downed and he only died twice, from him randomly cannonballing into the brine.
Dunno what else would boost the affinity really, I did instantly go to him in the hell world as well before anything else.

@@Morgan-uf4cm Yeah, Small things help raise affinity, Drinks at the bar, Talking to them at camp, Changing their Hair/Makeup/etc at the Stylist, High fives/Fist bumps after a fight, and picking them up if they go down during a fight. One thing that probably helped is that I only ever intentionally brined my pawn twice due to them being in the final stages of Dragon's plague, I'm guessing besides the haircuts, you probably did all these semi-regularly.
For me, while on the dragons heart, my pawn appeared in human form whereas ones I have seen on UA-cam stay as the black dragon.
I just figured HDR is so good in this game, feels really flat when watching the same cutscenes on youtube.
I loved this ending so much. It feels like attack on titan ending, touching me too much.
So, it's like the first Game. Our character break the circle of repeating cycle.
you never break the cycle first game tho w killing the dragon you become god then kill yourself then the cycle hits a backup function and ng+ is you fighting you from when u godsbaned yourself after u became god

@@miguelangeldiazdominguez1653you get told the dragons true purpose is to protect from the world ending / chaos (the apocalypse version of the map) and then you prevent the complete ending of the world by sacrificing yourself+the dragon together with Godsbane sword, by doing that = ‘this tales ending has become unwritten‘ and the new world begins, reintroducing the eternal cycle to prevent to ending of the world
The Npc’s have too be the same, all we’ve done at the end is: #1 break the cycle because we think it’s the right thing to do - then #2: reverse breaking the cycle as it will literally result in the whole world ending and it won’t be fix’able if we let it happen - to summarise we’re kind of lead to believe the Watcher is a bad guy who wants to keep everyone in the eternal cycle for reasons that benefit him, but he’s the only one that actually knows without the cycle nothing can exist - hope that’s explained it

I didn't play dark arisen so I have no frame of reference, but I loved this ending. I am a sucker for bitter sweet endings though.
I didn't play DD2 but I now want to play Dark Arisen, because it actually seems like a prequel of sorts.
It was significantly better done in DD1 as how the world runs (even how the dragon is created) and is told/shown much better. This ending/lore felt like a downgrade.

It kind of follows the same formula as Dark Arisen. The Arisen and their Pawn "become one" through both gameplay and story. This time, however it's not as brief and "in your face" as the first one though.
@@Bahamut3525 It isn't really connected to the first game by that much except for nostalgic reference when you reach the Seafloor Shrine and the unmoored world. You can jump into the second game since you won't miss much.
Though I highly recommend playing Dark Arisen. It's a good game and for now, is better than 2 in some ways.

It's just one of the lights
All lights stay as is. Think of it as a sight seeing mission where you get a bit of gold just for watching.

I am ok with this branched out part of the story but I did not feel good that the pawns taken away and the Arisen being dead. It would have been awesome that if the Arisen is given a second chance and he comes back to the world he left behind!

I have finally finished Dragon's Dogma 2! it took me almost 100 hours, but it is done. it was a great game I had a lot of fun with it, but like the first one as much as I like it, the story and characters just doesn't click for me (as much as I do love the true ending with the red sky and dark atmosphere) other than those it was a great experience to see this series again and I cannot wait what Capcom will do in the future with the franchise.😆👍

There’s a lot missing in your ending… You failed to get max affinity with your main pawn.
You also missed all the character reflection cutscenes except for Hugo…
There should be reflection scenes that include Bryant and Sven, Ragnal and Phaesus, Glyndwr, Doireann and Tailiesen, Ulricha, Wilhelmina, Beren, Gregor and Margit, Guatstafr and Cliodhna, Lamond, and finally Menella and Nadinia.
I died on the freaking dragon’s wing, I have 9 wake stones, but the game will not let me revive. It is only giving me the option to reload or “give up”

This happened to me last night. I died about six times in a row during the ending credits while on the Dragon's wing. You know the part where you have to start running because the Brine (the tentacle blobby things) are on the wing and are coming at you? The mistakes I originally made was the I wasn't pushing the analog stick completely fully forward in a consistent manner and during the scene where the camera focuses on the dragon's face getting ready to breathe fire, I made the mistake of not running thinking it was a pure cutscene. Even when the camera isn't on your character and is on the Dragon's face, you MUST CONTINUE TO RUN (keep pushing that analog stick and do NOT stop running) because that's NOT a cutscene, that'a just a camera change designed to trick the player. The only time you stop is when the fires comes out and you have to hide behind one of the Dragon's "spikes" so you don't get burned (getting burned can also kill you). Then once the fire starts to go away, IMMEDIATELY start running again, non stop. That's how I stopped dying. But before that I died about 6 times (may have been more than that) . If you die, reload and try again (t starts you off at the wing during the ending credits), do NOT pick the "give up" option. Refuse to give up.
Max affinity ending was really a surprise to me, because I really didn't expect that. But- let me say people throwing their pawns in the brine just because of a little dragonsplague won't get that. I saw people suggesting to do that and I said what??? No way. :) Heck I let my guy wipe out Battahl when he had it since the pawns don't like it there, and I would/will do it again. lol

I don't get why it forces you to restart from the beginning after doing this.
After true ending, arisen and seemingly his pawn as well die to kill the dragon 1 more time. You cant continue if you're dead. We watched him get impaled while we stabbed the dragon too.
@@TheBulge Yet the cycle continues with ng+. They could easily warn the player that this is no turning back. Fun game, bad forced ng+.
@BasilBeat eh I'm not annoyed by the lack of warning. It's dragons dogma and a dark jrpg, you just should automatically assume your character dies so the final mission being a no turning back is kind of a given.
i was sad too. i wish they would have given us a scene with our pawn "walking into the light" or something. or deus ex machina us back in the world we freed. oh well.
What I really liked about DD1 is that if you ended NG+ the Seneshall appeared and it was none other than your last Arisen with his pawn! That was dope af!

A world that doesn't end is a world trapped in stagnation. It'll decay over time, be corrupted, and still crumble to dust. Nothing lasts forever. No paths are written for us. We make our own path, this is our story, we are all our own authors in a story we write for ourselves.
Immortal beings cannot die, cannot be killed and can live forever for eternity. No one writes paths for anyone, we are the masters of our own story, we write our own chapters as well and nothing in any world or in any universe is born good or evil in the beginning.
How can we make our own path when no matter what, all paths lead to oblivion? That's bullshit. A world not ending equalling stagnation is even more bullshit. These worlds don't even seem to be allowed to progress past being medieval and we're supposed to just accept some jerkwad of a god going "Uh yeah you need to all die because uh cycle or whatever." Fuck that.
What’s this cutscene with talos at the start?
A secret you can find by bringing your main pawn to talos in the secret ending after he is stopped around the end of the game

@@gho5tspartan26yt I think it only occurs if you had beaten Talos yourself before he was naturally destroyed by the NPCs on the volcano map.
@@SadMoribund I did though…I killed him WAY too fast actually. He only got to the first wooden bridge. Probably didn’t help I had found really strong gear, was level 30+, and was using mystic spear hand.. I know this is irrelevant to the video, but is Dragon’s dogma 2 actually good since I’ve been looking at some reviews and they are kinda mixed, I just want to know is it worth the price and is genuinely fun.
Mixed? The game is at 87 on Metacritic and the biggest complaint is the game's performance.
Game itself is great, but I'd wait until they iron out the performance problems, I'd also try to get second hand as to not support Capcom and their greedy policies

I still dont get it, whats the deal with the old man at the end of the Credits.
It means the world is free,the monster that devour ppl in water is gone because the pathfinder is gone
@@pandst true, but who doesn't say the Unseen Throne is still open to any who dare try to claim it as their own.
If you talk to the old man, a former Arisen, he'll mention that he's pissed because the Brine devours anything attempting to go out to sea. He says it's not fair and it's his right to go out and die on the open water if that's what he really wants because it wouldn't hurt anybody. After beating the game the Brine is gone, meaning that he's finally free to set sail like he always wanted.
So sad ending after all like ddr1😢

@@thanashs Yeah, there is an old man in this game who dropped lore about a legendary figure who "descended" from heaven to live among mortals and found a kingdom. If that is so, that means Seneschal does exist in this world. Probably will be addressed in the eventual DLC.

Remember the Cutscene at the End, when you became God (Watcher?) and use the Godsbane Blade. Your Pawn falls from the Sky and his Body changes into yours.
Otherwise, after killing the Dragon, Rothais would have become God or the next Dragon.
why not let us fight against the gigantic mutated dragon in a siege fight like the ur dragon in the previous game ? Such a wasted opportunith

You can do that I literally just beat the game now sort of and I killed the dragon Then had a cut scene with me taking up the throne then I talked to jackass Mr Blue Eyes and he forced me to fight the Dragon again and I said nope and turned the game off because I wasn't going to go through that again after all of the frustration so I guess im never finishing the game lol

@@Narn29they said that this is a different timeline. We broke the cycle in DD1, that hasn't changed. But this is a parallel world, unconnected to the first game.

If your pawn has really high affinity with you, you'll get that special ending. Good job being a good master! lol
DD 1 Seneschal made sense. He tests mankind's courage and valor (whoever stands against a dragon, the bargain where the arisen chose to fight, the Everfall...) so if it comes to being replaced, he is replaced by a great.
Cant make up what that blue eye jerk is and want tho, the story was a mess despite the interesting build up to dethrone Disa, which led to nothing
I got a glitch trying to do the true ending the guy at harve village** won't trigger the evacuation for me because he's stuck saying the same thing from the cape quest making the ending impossible to do because the town won't evacuate. what sucks even more is that i can't restart the game or load up a save because capcom choose to do a stupid single save. Dragons dogam 2 is unplayable now. I can't play the game because its been save locked into this one ending
U can’t evacuate melve they literally tell u it’s already been attacked by a dragon. U only need to evacuate vermund bakbhatal and elf town. TBH I’m not even sure that’s required just go fight all the big red sky lasers and then the last one will pop up where everyone gathers after evac
The NPCs tell you that Melve was the first to be destroyed. You can't evacuate it because it's lost already. You only need to evacuate Vernworth, Sacred Arbor, Bakbattahl, Volcanic Island Camp, and Excavation Site
@@Ak907Calbomber Ah thank you! I meant harve village wouldn't evacuate btw not Melve a mess up on my part but either way i had no idea i was supposed to destroy the lasers I'll keep that in mind the next time i try the ending again.

@@albertssoup No prob, after you evacuate you need to rest for the NPCs to appear at the safe zone, but the true end is timed and you only have a set number of days to complete it so I'd recommend evacuating as many places as you can before you rest a bunch. I think you only have 5-7 days to complete everything
