This giant is supposed to exist to kill the dragon, so I let him go. And those idiot NPCs just killed him. It's a shame that our choices don't have any consequences here
So the Colossus is not able to hit you or cause you damage in any form, he is extremely slow, you can freely climb him as you wish AND you don't even take fall damage if you jump from it.
I somehow missed the "boss battle", seemed more like a watered down Shadow of the Colossus sequence to me. Missed opportunity, they could of done so much more with that giant's character model
He died to quick on mine and I got an achievement… I’m disappointed because I see all the other areas he was supposed to go. On mine he only got to the first wood bridge. I came here to see how fun the fight is
I happened to be leveling archer when I got to this fight and got most of the spikes out before it even reached the land with explosive arrows. Then I found out the spikes drop wakestone shards :(

To reach the Talos at level 31 dude must've been rushing through the entire game like the only WC in the entire world was to be found at Moonglint Tower jeez.
First time I ignored it because I was doing something else. The ballista killed it anyway without my involvement. The second time as a magic archer, martyr’s bolt destroyed all its targetable parts before it reaches the shore, minus the parts that were under water. After that, that first turrets killed it in seconds and Ingot the trophy for killing it fast.

Yes it does. Depending on how fast you defeat him, you unlock certain challenges at the end-game. Him walking around is just contextual lore, which is more interesting than being shown a meagre cutscene.

Is this the only giant or there is another one? I was exploring just now and suddenly triggered the cutscene but have zero idea where to go, then after a while it shows another cutscene that the giant was defeated, what the f….i am so pissed 😞
This fight was lame. And i was just confused the whole time because i was like is this really what this boss is? He just walks and you have to awkwardly climb it to stab the same spot 25x? Really impressive to look at from a distance but when you actually start its just boring and then if you dont kill it he just falls in lava like what? I got a ton of Exp for killing it, but this game dude, it feels super big and really small at the same time and the reason why it feels small is because it has so many ideas that are really good ideas but not one is realized to its full potential. Best way to describe Dragons Dogma 2 is that its like a jack of all trades but isnt a master of none.

So my talos is the same as yours arm misssing down on one knee but when I place a port crystal at the volcano camp it says cannot travel to this port crystal any one know why?
Tried that, actually the truth is I could not be bothered fighting as I could see what that would involve and decided it was not worth effort, so decided to see what happens if I ignored it. It just dies at that spot.
It alters certain lore, cutscenes and rewards you get at the end-game. Depending on how fast you defeat him, you might get locked-out of certain end-game challenges.

It doesn’t make sense fighting the Colossus since its attacking and destroying your enemies in the game. The Colossus is really your ally.

The greatest interactive cutscene to this day. You can just ignore this boss alltogether and he will still die at the end of the path.
