This is one of the dopest tutorials I've ever seen. I'm completely blown away, that was incredible. Dang the before and after! That didn't take that long either. I can't wait to experiment and try some of these techniques out. Wow. Seriously.
Back here again this evening, simply for the sake of re-learning the 4:3 aspect ratio settings in fcpx... but this time for a vertical version, which I suppose is technically 3:4 And it WORKED!!! 😃
This is an incredible tutorial Ken!!! Absolutely LOVE it!!! THE BEST vhs effect tutorial on the internet! Would love to see some new videos from you, whenever you feel up to it. Subscribed! Take care 😊❤️👍
Is it possible to have the beginning of the video in 640x480 format and then the rest of the video back in 1920x1080. I can't find a video on this anywhere. Also, awesome job!
You could consider creating the 4:3 portion of the video separately, then "share master file", then import that file into your main 16:9 project. I just gave it a quick try on my fcpx for you to see if it would work, and it did! Just be aware, you'll have those two "black bars" on either side of the screen, but if you're ok with that, GO FOR IT! 😃
Why would anyone want to make their videos look worse? We spent years improving on video and now it's almost like its too perfect for people, we wanna go backwards. Personally if i wanted this look for some strange reason, it would be a whole lot easier to buy an old 90s camcorder and start recording. At least then it's the real thing.

Use cmd + c to copy, and then cmd + v + shift and a popup will appear asking what you want to paste. Choose your desired effects. :)

You haven't seen VHS on VHS-system before. It's obvious. There are no horizontal lines at all.
