Great video open water fishing is awesome and a live grunt even with no weight is always a good idea, if there is a good current I used to cast out a whole squid no weight expecting the current to keep it either on or somewhat near the surface while fishing another rod sometimes it would work well

They don’t want people venting fish anymore because people were just killing them so they put the descending device policy in place.

NOAA and FWC specifically say they don’t want people venting fish anymore unless they are a trained worker on a charter or head boat, thats why they implemented the descending device policy.
