Merci! I'd love to see one for autumn now that it's almost here. (By the way, "pareo, sarong, & kimono" are not English words to begin with; so you didn't need to correct yourself at all. :-) In fact your English is wonderful!
HARD Disagree on pants shape. Women need to dress according to their body type. High waisted skinny jeans or pants don't look good on everyone. Dressing for your body type is also another TIP to make you look classy.
I know the striped dress you showed technically looks “better,” but that cheap dress looks surprisingly pretty on you too! The color is 10/10 and even though I normally think bodycon silhouettes look terrible … that particular dress is quite flattering on you! 😊
I’d like to see some content on how to do French aesthetic when you’re curvy. I love a white button up in theory, but I seem to only have the option of looking bigger than I am or having buttons pop. I may need to learn how to tailor my own clothes to keep in a budget 😅
Find a tailor. Get bigger clothes by one size, and get them tailored. Or, I strongly suggest to learn to hand sew. No machine required. It is easy to listen to a podcast or some nice music, or talk to your loved ones ❤ while you make the horrible fitting clothes into AMAZING clothes with an hour or two. Yes, it is labor. But you will be amazed by how fast you will get, and how good you will get at making yourself look incredible 🎉
I want to add: The most expensive stitches and ALSO the most durable stitches are all only able to be done by hand ❤ You can also repair clothes, and eventually make your own clothes which will last through your body's phases... because you know how much space your body needs to adjust through day and month and year ❤
Tip to make clothes look elegant: hide stitches, even on the inside, or turn them into an (under)stated classic element: - jean stitching - the many artistic styles of repairing and strenghthening garments via strong natural thread (try to do this with cultural respect and appreciation ❤) - gentle and story-matched embroidery with natural and fabric-matching threads along seams and hems can either accentuate or hide the seam, while making it plain that it was done by hand, as pre-stitched embroidery at a seam or hem is easily botched on a machine 😊 - lined garments hide many seams, which are pressed down, and can be stitched into the seam fabric such that the lining never has visible seams!
You can hide extra fabric of both the outer fabric AND the lining to allow your curves to change. Many stitches that are EASY PEASY to take out with a single pull can be put into a lining to close it. They can be undone and redone in a few minutes, and secured with an extra row of stitches in places that feel tight or get a lot of movement, like elbows. You let the outer layer of stitches pop and leave more secure inner stitches (which are actually allowing more fabric to move) stay in place. This will let you stay covered despite feeling the popping stitches, which tell you that you need to let your clothes out to accommodate you. I don't have too many curves, but I have some hardcore swelling issues. I feel at least some of your pain, and wanted to let you know that there's a way to keep your fitted look without fear of one swollen PMS day, or drinking too much water/eating too much food will expose you! Your seams can let you pop loose without opening your fabric! Just don't do the POP seams in stronger fibers than your fabric!!! they should pop EASILY! They are meant to tell you where you need to change something for your security 😅
When mentioning cover-ups, I really love the confident attitude and compliment to anyone of "You still want to look expensive because, (clicks tongue) That's who you are!"
Agreed that’s why wearing white, beige & light brown is part of the “old money” aesthetic in so many fashion videos because rich people can avoid dirty more easily
Your style is very classic and sits you very well. However, do you have any tips for women like a bit more color? I don't wear brand logos or tops with writing, but I do like to be a bit whimsical and fun / colourful in my outfits.
would be nice to share where you buy these pieces...you did mention the zara and veramoda...but you did not mention for pants and shorts etc...Merci :)
I just discovered your channel and am really enjoying your ontent! I would love it if in the future you can link some of the products/items you suggest, such as a good quality and well-fitting linen button-down shirt. I find this particularly challenging to find!
Just discovered your channel and am bingeing! Not sure if you have done this already, but it would be great to get tips on any non-leather alternatives that still work well for shoes and bags (apart from summer straw).
I think it also depends on skin color and ethnicity as well. I'm sure those 'cheap' dresses you're modeling will look cute and expensive on a korean or filipino lady with a petite figure and youthful outlook. On a caucasian woman, yes, I agree they look almost comical.
I'm afraid those cheap examples will not look good on anyone regardless of skin colour and ethnicity. Also 'cute' is definitely not expensive. On small children and kittens yes, on grown women no.
Ignore replies from people who do not travel much. Gamine cuteness can look high class on women with certain structure. Classic Classy looks are not meant for every bone structure and skin color, and they are not going to translate for every culture. This video is from a Western European perspective, and is about High Class looks for the Classic European women... mostly, with some elements that work for nearly everyone. It is well done! But you cannot ignore who you are, how you are shaped, and what environment you are in when it comes to clothing. It is art, it is communication, and it is a tool. It is probably more!
I'd like to add, not only do you look better wearing natural fabrics and is better for the enviroment, but recent studies have shown that they're actually healthier as well! It prevents skin cancer because, being natural, its porosity lets your skin breath, it's also highly recommended that small children should only wear clothes made of natural fibers.
I'm 66, I do not look expensive in shorts 😞. And women with problematic legs also do not look expensive in shorts... But on general I like your videos...
Ma’am, you look elegant on that small photo. You shouldn’t worry with shorts, there’s other options. This video is made by a younger person, perhaps she hasn’t experienced age-related wardrobe challenges, yet. She says that she learned at lot from her mother and grandmother. I bet they have some clever style hacks for all generations. There’s still plenty of great tips on this channel though. 😊
Okay, I have a hard time finding summer tops. I sweat horribly, so I can never find a nice shirt where the sweat won't show through as soon as I put it on. I have a bunch of tank tops, but I know I look cheap. Then, when it's blistering hot and I try to wear something nice, I feel sticky and uncomfortable, hence the tanks. What can I do?!?!?!
But pls keep in mind that gold and warm brown tones should definitely only be worn by warm color types. Otherwise it will look shit anyways. Also old money can look grandma like, so i think looking just elegant without pretended anything and still adding your personal style is ok. But i agree with most of the things in the video as i appreciate elegance a lot as well.
There are different shades of gold, depending on the karat or what it's mixed with. Not all skin tones look good with gold. Some look better with silver.
Doe anybody know what kind of camera she’s using? Whether it’s a smart phone or DSLR? I love the effect here. Of course her simple blurred backgrounds, bright lighting and colors are also a factor.
I’ll keep my short shorts because I work hard for my body and enjoy showing it off! However every other suggestion I will take heed 😊 oh and because I am an American I’ll keep my hoodies too! Love your accent and your curls
Personnellement je trouve que l'outfit bleu pastel avec le t-shirt mauve à la troisième minute fait cheap et que les coupes ne vont pas ensembles. Avec un débardeur blanc légèrement plus décolleté le résultat serait bien mieux.
I heard 'old money' at least 20 times! I'm Canadian and we have no 'old money' here. We are a relatively new country. I would rather look like 'new money'. Why would I respect someone who has inherited money and their biggest accomplishment is spending it? I would rather look like an individual who has intelligently navigated the business world and become successful in their lifetime.
I think she is referring to 'old money aesthetic' as a fashion trend here. Also known as 'quiet luxury'. The style can be achieved by emulating expensive brands but by shopping at less expensive shops.
This expression ‘old money’ is misleading in some connotations (inherited money) but simply means a way to present your style as non trend-following or ‘fashion’ but instead is ‘timeless’ ‘classic’ ‘quality’ ‘elegant’ …not far from what you describe as your preference, and so can be applicable in most modern cultures. 💫
“New money” here in the US has the connotation of someone who recently acquired money and is desperate to show it, so they buy things simply because they are expensive without any sense of style. I’m sure there must be the same connotation in Canada too! Understood in that way, “old money” makes sense as a style term-thoughtful, put together, and timeless, as opposed to rushed and trendy.
I think skinny white jeans look unfashionable and out of style. The new style is volume wide pants, voluminous skirts, just maxi all around on the bottom. Wide pants always look more elegant. Skinny jeans are for the working class.
In style or out of style is only what the fashion world tells us and the shops want to keep selling new collections so it changes a lot. Same with cargo pants for example. They were very in style but DEFINITELY not old money aesthetics. Not a classic style. To me (almost) skinny pants, so not stretching around the leg but just barely touching the skin, will always stay in fashion. Wide leg pants can also be fashionable and classy but then again, you need a classic cut and fabric. Unlike lots of the wide pants that are being sold in stores. They only make your figure look worse.
I love fashion and elegance but the way you're describing this "old money" allure looks so blank and boring...I see lots of women looking elegant and fierce with colors, patterns, textures, still giving rich vibes, but not so boring...not only white linen. This speaks 50 y.o. wife in her Capri vacation.
Personally I think those dresses made from striped mens shirts look like you stole your lovers oversized shirt after a scandalous night ... I wont get in a million years why that should say "elegant"
I've watched a few of your videos and I've noticed you focus on clothes and accessories, you have talked about the way makeup and nails should look, but I've not seen you paying attention to the hair part or the skin; maybe I missed it. Those two deserve their own video. A sensible skin care routine and hair care routine should be included to complement the look of elegance. Forgive me for what I'm going to say, but your hair looks dry and unkempt, it seems like you focus on twisting the ends to form a curl, but the mid to roots look extra dry and frizzy, and those two disturb the harmony of the image of elegance that you're trying to project.
Blazers should never have shortened sleeves or fixed sleeve with a button 🤮🤮 those look so cheap. Also should have good fabric not any fabric that would make it slouchy
What confuses me is in the that at 0:45 you say pants that are wide at the bottom don't look "old money" and should be avoided but at 2:24 2 out of 4 wear wide pants?
In the first clip you highlight she’s talking about trousers, but in the second clip, she’s talking about blouses. Hopefully that clears up your confusion.
Omg girl, the audacity to teach people about elegance when you have such a terrible taste yourself 💀 Elegance is not only putting what is considered to be old money on. But it is basically feeling of appropriateness. To your own appearance (which is called good taste), and to the situation.
I'm sorry but I think that the way you wear your hair doesn't look expensive, I mean curls that are frizzy especially at the top of your head. It looks like you don't put any effort to style your hair and whole look doesn't look put together.
Clearly you don't have curly hair. You can easily spend 3 hours doing your hair and only look half as nice as hers does here. If you don't have anything nice to say then keep it to yourself.
Eww to mules (leather or not! Nothing wide or straight over the foot is appealing) and any plastic shoe like the cloud or crocs or any trendy shoe is ick
Love these tips but classic or traditional shoes are so constricting and bland! Ugh the thick leather band over the foot is uncomfortable and just blah. Loafers are constricting and blah. Rich people used to bind their feet! Why?!

Where did you found those white Sneaker? I really like them
White outfits are promoted a lot by influencers but they're not practical and get dirty so quickly, which makes them look cheap. I prefer navy

agreed!! nothing beats a wide linen pant! see photo on the right at 7:03
Agree. I don’t think skinny pants in shape of carrot makes you look expensive. I prefer wide leg pants. It makes you look more out together and neat
Cropped pants are only good on a boat when you may step in the water
