Works great! ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxprGGPRQoChQaA8u58dt7miEpxQBKiWeJ More difficult with longer grass, though, but I was expecting that. I have a small back yard, it seemed like overkill to buy a lawnmower with an engine. This is easy to carry in and out of the basement through the bulkhead. Very sharp (be careful). At the back of the mower are little wheels, which I use when pulling the mower backwards, so it's easy to readjust direction. I'm including a photo which shows the before and after for my lawn when it was at its longest. For long grass like that you really have to put some muscle into it, and I needed to go into a new section of grass with some momentum, but when the grass is only an inch or two higher than regular cut height it's quite easy. The lawn is still patchy and full of weeds, but at least it's a good height! A step in the right direction.
I’m newly widowed and my lawn has become my therapy. Thanks to you and some other UA-cam lawn guys, my yard has never looked this good. I just wanted to thank you for bringing a little joy into all of our lives. You and your lovely and funny wife always make me smile or even laugh and that’s pretty incredible.
One of the reasons why I love this, it's great to see the Bob Vila clean-cut how to videos however nobody's perfect things don't go well, you bump, break and drop things it's just what we do...
Seeing alot of comments about how the lawn is looking. Pretty sure you know this already!! You’ll turn it around though 😀. Keep the vids coming, i enjoy watching them. Got me back into get my outside spaces looking better. All the best
Fun video Lawn Rebel, so cool you have a triplex. Also love it that you were diagonal it’s great for your lawn. Growing season your lawn will fill up in no time just spoonfeed it a lot of nitrogen.Just left those rhizomes do the work. Also get yourself a hex plugger, and plug out the poa. Take care of your back, makes for a good drama, but at your expense be careful.
My mechanic at my country club does all the work on my GM1000 and man is it great. He quits literally works on GM1000's on a daily basis so it takes him no time at all to get mine in lovely condition a couple times a year. I'm mowing 4-5 days a week at .130" so precision is key!
@@lawnrebel Mahmoud, "my" mechanic, is a legend in my mind. I can't imagine how much money he's sav d me over the last four years. A bottle of scotch and my mower comes back flawless.
Connor, love your videos. I like your plan to kill it again and do it right. Was fun to watch the renovation project, but a do-over that ends in pure lawn perfection will be worth it.
Have you thought about getting a basket kit for your Toro? It'd collect the clippings, but you'll have a lot of them!! It's what we used to use on putting greens and tee boxes.
Maybe you not even know where Slovenia is but i'm from there. Likeing your videos so much. I like mowing and make it look nice but not have a garden or a place like yours but still im trying my best in vineyards lol. Realy enjoy watching you every time. Keep do what you love and stay the same
You got a high vac rotary mower recently. Couldn’t you mow the seed heads and collect prior to the lower reel mower cut? If you are inclined to kill off lawn and replant perhaps you could get together with Pete from GCI and do a collaboration.
Poa Annua can be a real pain. It will attack attack attack if you don't control it. I'm working with bentgrass on my putting green and it's a yearly battle to keep the Poa Annua away. We do get some Poa Triv here too which can suck also.
Connor, you need to use Specticle G by Bayer to keep weeds and Poa out of your lawn, I use it on my Emerald Green Zoysia here in the Atl area and it works very well, I also use Growth Regulator on my turf and plants to keep from having to cut and trim shrubs as often. BTW there are two different Growth regulators, one for turf and one for plants.
spray that poa annua with poa constrictor. 2 apps of that will almost eliminate that stuff. Used on my yard with fantastic results. As it dies, your bluegrass will take over . Poa constrictor is a good pre and post emergence app!
Connor, I stumbled onto your awesome channel. I also live in Utah (Northern Utah County). I have a postage stamp lot. My front yard is just under 1000 sq ft. I want to try a lawn renovation starting with the front yard. (It has a huge crest in the center and valleys where drain trenches have settled, etc.) So my question is this. Should I wait until spring? Or should I start right now? When is the best time to start? Are you for hire? ;)
Try some pelatized calisum for your round spots, in a base soil. Rake in peat moss in the bare sandy dirt then seed it. Also perlite is good for air on the roots, and vermiculite is good for retaining water. If you use quaters of sand, peat moss, perlite and vermiculite it makes perfect soil blend. Spelling is not my strong suit.
Ever since I started enjoying your videos, I have always been curious what you do for a living. I get home at a reasonable time daily, but I would even have difficulties finding the amount of time you do to dedicate to the lawn. Starting to get to the space where I am actually not seeing the yard work as a chore anymore, so that is a start haha
If you love that mower you’d love the big 7000 5 gang fairway unit we use everyday at the Peoria,Az spring training complex. Come on down anytime and mow for us!!
So what can we put down pre emergent wise to keep the PA from germinating in fall? I have a crap load on the west side of my house. Creepers gonna creep.
Always enjoy your videos, regardless as to how you feel the lawn looks. I think it’s coming along well. One of my favorite you tubers. Wife deserves a foot rub for her hard efforts. The lavender will fill in great where it is. Good luck
What is your opinion/review of the Everest seed you used? Do you like/dislike? Recommend? What other cultivar types of KBG have you used in the past? I'm planning on overseeding in the fall and plan on ordering some from the SSS. I want something that gets a deep dark green. Any feedback would be appreciated. Love watching your videos.
Loved that you threw the launch in there! Next time you visit the LCN and a launch is happening I might be able to get you guest passes! I'm an engineer out there
That Poa must be coming from your re-seeding mix? I don't worry too much about it here in the south because I scalp in the spring, then it gets hot and dies out. (We have warm season grasses) Unfortunately, Poa is a bluegrass. I'm not sure you could pre-emerge without wiping out your entire yard. Someone educate me on this.
Sos un genio Connor! impresionante la dedicación que le pones a tu trabajo, un saludo desde Argentina! You're a genius Connor! impressive dedication you put into your work, greetings from Argentina!
Dude i know how you feel, my reel gets thrown off every time i take it out of the garage over the foundation bump! but i devised a makeshift mini ramp to avoid so much blunt force on the bedknife and reel:)
I'm surprised you haven't made some of your own catchers for the ride-on if there aren't any official ones. You probably won't be able to catch the centre reel, but you should be able to catch the front ones.
Hey man get bales and buckets for your toro, I work at a golf course and that’s what we use there. I’m not sure if toro makes them but I know Deere does for their triplex mowers. Then all of your clippings will get tossed into there instead
I am so glad to see a new video The lawn looks much better after mowing with the Toro I look forward for some fertilizer or Weedkiller vids So stay all healthy in your family best wiches from Germany Cheers Lars
Are you going to attack the POA with tenacity ? Anuew PGR may be a potential solution. I suspect RENO #3 in August. Everest KBG is awesome but I lean towards Midnight and Pangea sissy PRG

Your wife does amazing work with those flowers. She should do her own channel!
Envious of that landscaping.👍
You Got an Order from Miss! Kill it and get that awesome lawn back again. We love you Connor, you can do it!
pretty sure that is what is going to have to happen
Someone give this guy his own show! 👌🏽

Kinda funny seeing real grass and a fake rocket launch🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 love the lawn videos 😎💪

Chin up Mr Ward , you will get it sorted 👍
Nice job on the gardens Mrs Ward 👍
Cracks me up at 9:39 to see the bits a paper fly everywhere
Seems like something you would see in a Chevy Chase movie.
Wow Con man, your lawn has really gone down hill since I started watching your exploits,(but I know you'll bring it back to its former glory)
He killed it last year and brought it back from seed. It will look better by late summer.

The everest looks sweet. The color is absolutely amazing! My advice: use fall pre emergent to stop the poa. Noticed you've never done any, so try that
So what can we put down pre emergent wise to keep the PA from germinating in fall? I have a crap load on the west side of my house. Creepers gonna creep.
I use tenacity to turn the poa white. Then I spot spray with certainty to kill it.

Wow that Everest is double dark. Also I got my lawn rebel flamingo sweatshirt....it’s freakin sweet
so cool thank you so much for supporting me.
Could you ever make your own baskets to catch the grass clippings and put them on the front of the 3100d?
Toro sell a basket kit. Bet it's expensive!!
Working in flip flops a good idea?
Hey Connor, can you update us about the new seed you did recently.
Thanks.
I did. Watch my most recent video

Connor my champion GQ looks just like that patch you described as POA, maybe just your old rye grass.
yeah it likely is
When you say you seeded wrong, what do you mean? What would you do differently

Connor, what do you think went wrong with the last seeding?
Hi Connor, How long did you backlap the new reel's before mowing as that would help with bedding the reel's and bedknife's in.
I imagine the first mow with new reels is like the first time you sleep in sheets fresh out of the laundry.
Yeah... it is about like that. Good analogy
Prob also similar to a fresh mustache trim and a sip of hot chocolate
That shirt is lit!
How do you like the toro timemaster ?
Connor, have you tried the single - double with the 3100D ? should be cool to see how that looks.. !
Love the video, as always!
Where can one get that cap? I see LCN has one too......
Too many irons in the fire man. Reminds me of me. lol. i cant stop watching though. Keep the videos coming.

If your videos were an hour long I would watch every minute of them. I love your straight forwardness. You have a wonderful family. Have a great day.
Why do you have stakes next to your dahlias ? Just wanted to know because I planted some this year.
They have to be staked. They get so heavy that they fall over.
Are those protection gogles or prescription gogles?
Quick tip: Take the two end reels off first and take off the middle last, so you dont drop it 👍🏾
Hind sight is 20 20
Yeah no kidding
Any difference worth the cost of a cheap McLane, Swardman/Allet and greens mower?
I'm surprised you haven't made some of your own catchers for the ride-on if there aren't any official ones. You probably won't be able to catch the centre reel, but you should be able to catch the front ones.

The white planter boxes in your driveway are great. Can I ask where you got them?

Where do you get your reels sharpened?
I'm in Utah and need mine done.
massive rain clouds in the background. will you still throw some fert down?
"What were you doing during the SpaceX launch in 2020?" "I got it on video."
