Not a hard sell at all---no need to apologize. You made it clear up front that your company rebuilds and sells these chairs, and that it is possible to buy them in many places. A very good overview of what to watch out for. Thank you.
I bought a new remastered Aeron last year after watching your reviews on the chair, and it has been one of the best purchases I've ever made. Since then, this thing has started to get dirty and I was wondering if you guys could make a guide as to how to clean and maintain it (especially the mesh). The official HM Aeron Care guide is not really much help.
That is great to hear. Glad we could help! Yes, we plan to put together a series on how to clean your Aeron Classic and Aeron Remastered in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to the channel! -GK
I just bought a used one for $150 and refurbished it myself. New mesh seat, new cylinder, new lumbar pad and new casters. One hidden damage/cost was a broken cable that controls the lever (that raises and lowers the seat) Had to get a replacement cable from e-bay. All in all, only cost me about $400 total for a fully working Aeron. Much cheaper than buying a new one.
@@CHKhouri I suppose? There are lots of tutorials right here, showing you how to remove every part of the chair. Just need the right tools. Hardest part was the old cylinder. (need a monkey wrench and hammer for that) The rest is just screws. If all your chair needs is a new cylinder or a new mesh then it should be fairly straight forward.
Great video. One key piece that should be in the "Functions" portion - checking the arms to ensure they adjust up and down and stay in place when locked. If not, it can be a pricey fix for Aerons with the lever release.
I bought aeron size be last year, 2007 model, works great and 0 issues, recently found 2020 model fully loaded for $600 in my area, but sometimes quality of the products tend to go bad , even new Toyota Camry isn’t as good as it used it to be
@1:50 Is the clip sticking out of the bottom of the cylinder? It shouldn't be. That's another important thing to check, how much clearance is there between the cylinder and the floor? Some chairs/cylinders have almost none. This is not adjustable AFAIK, I think there is just variation in the cylinders from one manufacturer lot to another. If you plan to put the chair on a plastic chair mat over carpet, lack of clearance can be a problem. Ask me how I know. I put rollerblade casters on mine to give me a little more clearance.
I think I would make a note about the arm pad "indexer" do both arm rests on the classic click when you move them left or right. Free motion no clicks means the indexer plastic likely broke. Maybe $20 or less to buy an indexer but the time it takes to remove and replace along with understanding how to interact with the spring is another matter.. can we just toss the spring? Etc.
Funny enough I found an aeron for 30 bucks on Facebook. Its missing an arm not a big deal especially for the price. I go there and the pictures were misleading. The mesh is ripped and the lumbar was taped back together. The other arm was broken as well, I ended up not buying it because It would cost too much to replace everything.
@@bestopinion9257 pretty much, funny enough the lady got mad when I declined her offer. She even said its originally 1200 dollars. In my head Im like not in the condition that its in right now.
I soaked the casters in warm water lysol and a tiny bit of dishwashing liquid then 3 months later I sprung for the rolerblade styled casters much better smoother roll on carpet!
My mesh isn't saggy at all but it's very uncomfortable. My butt feels bruised after a day of work. Is there any quick fix or should I give up and get a different chair?
Also is it common for the gas lift to give out after a few hours and deflate, requiring me to keep re-elevating the chair once or twice a day? It's not a huge bother to me, though I am paranoid after watching a video about gas lifts exploding, causing grievous bodily injury to the nether regions. It's mostly cheap Chinese mechanisms that this happens to, but it does have me slightly concerned. ;)
I ordered a used Aeron classic online from a place that gets them from offices; Was a good buy but only problem I've had is the lumbar pad keeps popping off. I correctly attach it to the two rails but it just bends till one side pops out. Do you recommend any fix for that issue or know of any good third party replacements that will work better?
Has anybody come across a "Classic" (2013) that only have 6 screws in the back? The entire lower part has just the one screw for me. Trying to remove the mesh to clean, and can't.
Good tips. I bought one from CL 3 years ago for $50, and just now realizing I need a new cartridge. Removing the old one looks like a pain in the butt. All in all a good deal though.
We have more Aeron’s arriving soon and they could potentially have posture fit. I would be careful with Madison Seating because of their warranty and return policy. Unless you’re close to their facility, it is expensive to return for warranty and the warranty excludes most things on the chair. So long as you go into the situation aware of this and are okay with it, then I think all is good. -GK

Glad I watched. I changed me minds and will steer clear of bringing home a rats nest into my clean clean room. Will consider financing a new Aeron instead to avoid the rats nest
Any chance you might have a seat replacement for size A Aeron classic chair? Had my chair close to 30 years and it just developed a tear in the seat, near the side. Hoping I can repair it in the meantime. Any guidance is deeply appreciated. Thanks a bunch!❤
this is a late reply, but now they even have casters that look like rollerblade wheels in shape. i'm not sure what the usefulness of that is, just pointing out there are new things out there.
I agree, at first it looks ugly but after many years (30) of long hours spent sitting in this chair it's become, for me, the most beautiful chair I've laid my eyes on..❤
Bro is really out here griping about casters like you can't just buy a set of high quality casters easily. The Aeron uses standard caster connections, you can pop any model you want in there.

Can i replace the wheels with any other wheel (maybe a size up) or will that put different forces on the chair?

You should have known it was a trap due to the price being 30buck for something this expensive 😂

Awesome, thanks for sharing this info.
Need some tips for the remastered version. Think I've just found the holy grail for $100.
Would love to buy from yall but without offering posture fit, which I desire I'm struggling to lean away from Madison.

Bruhhh this video is just making me wanna buy a brand new chair, eff that
the first time I sat in this chair I could not believe what I had been missing. I'm 15 years in on this chair and it's still going ....
Ugh why didn’t you upload this a week ago! I didn’t check the casters :(
Sorry! -GK

Great video!
Is it good for tall people? My height is 1.84 cm
You'll need the C size, I'm 1.83 and it's great
Lol' that chair in the video will damage your floor, it's literally scraping the ground!
Too late and it was final sale 💀
So far from being a piece of art ....
