I really wish spinmaster would’ve given mermaid high a better chance but they’re so infamous for giving up as soon as their dolls aren’t instant hits. It’s so frustrating. I also wanted to point out that you mentioned mermaid high having nylon hair as a negative, but actually nylon is used by essentially every fashion doll line on the market right now including mermaze, RH, and OMG, and is considered to be among the higher quality end of the hair fiber spectrum. I think you confused nylon with polypropylene, which is what was actually used for Bratz in the 2010s, and is a complete nightmare to work with. Mermaze also doesn’t use Saran, unfortunately. I think the last time Saran was used on a playline doll collection was the first batch of the 20th anniversary Bratz repros

Honestly, I wasn't expecting Mermaid High to last. I felt the dolls were playing it safe with their designs. Think about it: all successful doll lines either take some risk (Bratz with their more adult look [when compared to Barbie] or Monster High with its horror influences) and/or don't cut corners when it comes to details (like Rainbow High, as you mentioned). I get the impression Spinmaster didn't want to sink too much money into the dolls in case they weren't an instant hit. But no risk means no reward, the dolls, when compared to others on the toy shelf, were just average, with nothing really setting them apart other than they were mermaids, which is something other dolls have done both before and since. I wanted to like Mermaid High, I really, really did. But as a doll collector on a budget there were always better, more interesting (to me) dolls on the shelves at the same time for the same price. Mermaid High just couldn't compete in my eyes.

I’ve always thought that when you see these dolls that are bland or playing to safe there is something going on inside that company. He said that the spring break designs were better because there was less time for the designs to be changed over and over. So take that as you will.
Its sad to see this doll line being discontinued. I personally think that Mermaid High was a better line than Mermaze Mermaidz, especially with Mermaze releasing a collector doll with molded on clothing and the Mermaze dolls not being able to sit. I normally like most MGA dolls, but Mermaze Mermaidz just feel very overpriced to me and not worth their price point, while Mermaid High feels mostly okay for the price point. Its a shame that we will never see what Mermaid High is fully capable of.
Another doll line gone just like that because the higher ups wanted the designs to be childish and water down the quality. How are these companies not learning from MGA? Kiddy designs and poor quality will not take you nowhere. You have to take risks and amaze the consumers. Sadly I have a feeling Monster High is going this route too, imagine putting out Cave Club to compete with Shadow High😶

It's so sad! I really liked Mari, since it's quite rare for me to see mermaid dolls with an aesthetic similar to my own. I was so bummed out when I saw that she was not in future lines, and now that they are really ending the line, it's even more sad!
Sadly saw it coming because they were produced by a smaller company and lots of people were interested when they first came out but interest very quickly decreased. The dolls were very cute and the characters had their own unique style but I felt like that wasn’t enough to grab attention to kids wanting to buy dolls. Also Mermaid High was going up against lots of popular doll lines like OMG, Rainbow High, Barbie, Disney Dolls, Nanana Surprise, etc. With the quality and money they had it was impossible to get the same traction those doll lines had to keep Mermaid High afloat (no pun intended).
I was wondering why Mermaid High stopped uploading new episodes. What a shame, because it was a cute show and it had potential. And the dolls were kinda cute. Those prototypes look pretty cool, especially the tails. Mermaze Mermaidz is okay, but does seemed more boring in plot thus far. The dolls are nicer, but I wished their tales are bendable.
Another thing to show this line is canceled is the fact their youTube channel is already reuploading videos of older videos like how the MH and EAH channel did/does when there was no more media that was being made for the series
Aww man. I was worried that Mermaze Mermaids would put Mermaid High in a tough position. I'm a fan of both doll lines because each has its charm. I really liked the characters in MH and the newer dolls looked beautiful 😢
I mean the price of the Mermaze have gone down because not a lot of people are buying them...They're $32 ($40 in Puerto Rico) while Mermaid High are $26...I have both doll lines and I have to say that while Mermaze has better materials and hair, Mermaid High is superior in concept and I prefer the fabric tails. My Mermaze already have chipped tails and I only have them in display, they're NOT that articulated!!! Their necks don't move that much, and they can't sit. The shoulders, elbows and wrist are ok, except on Jordie and Riviera because of their stiff jackets. For MH I can at least say they are worth it a bit more, I bought my Mermaze for $25 on sale and They're NOT worth the $25 let alone $32-40...That's just My opinion of someone who has them and loves both. Very sad that they cancelled MH, I really like them and I was excited for the sleepover dolls ☹️
Honestly same! I had both Mermaid High and Mermaze Dolls. I only collected Shellnelle, but I had a horrible time displaying her. The Mermaid High dolls I loved, but every time I would put them on stands, their tails would fall down.
@@kingdomorange2 That happens to me. I recommend to put a clear rubber band around the end of the tail and stand if you haven't already...It works amazing. And Yes!!! My first Mermaze was Riviera and it's super hard to make her stand up.

I didn't know Mermaid High was cancelled. I was just waiting for the new episodes to be uploaded on that day. It was a really good show and I'm really sad there's no more new episodes of Mermaid High. I'm gonna miss this show. It was fun while it lasted. I hope this show will come back. 😘🤗
I was in shock over to the discontinuation of Mermaid High, just like Kawaii Crush, Chatsters, La Dee Da and Liv once did, Oh man, Spin Master wasn't very happy when MGA's Mermaze Mermaidz took over Mermaid High and yes, I knew it was short-lived and canceled. But no, Spin Master decides to give up Mermaid High forever due to its rival, Mermaze Mermaidz because those dolls have nylon dolls that were similar to the 2010 Bratz dolls, and the last episode called Visit Mermaid Secret Hideout came out 3 months ago and yeah, I want Spin Master to not sink too much money into the dolls due to MGA's Mermaze Mermaidz winning the case against Mermaid High. Sadly, for Spin Master, MGA released its mermaid brand, Mermaze Mermaidz because no one will get to see the new characters in the future again due to its cancellation. 😭😭
It’s a shame to here that these dolls were cancelled they were really cute especially the spring break ones they definitely seemed more aimed towards kids than adult collectors I loved how long their hair is and the fact that you can removed their tails is a fun feature. I much prefer these dolls to the mermaze dolls those ones just feel too garish and I guess tacky to me the moulded on tails are just a big no for me.
Those companies really think that every girl groupes doll are gonna be the next Bratz, just because they give each girls different colorings and girly clothes. most of these big headed, cute, fashionista dolls look alike, so the only way someone would buy some character , is if he’s somewhat invested in the story and became a fan.
They were never promoted well. I had to find them on the top shelves. My daughter loves them and I prefer them to Mermaidz Mermaze. The accessories down to the removable tails were so great and fun. I don’t like getting the Mermaze dolls wet because you can’t remove the tails to let them dry and then there’s the wear and tear from water play in general. The cartoons for Mermaid High were also great. I wish they would have given it a better chance. I feel like it didn’t get the push it needed to do well because people just didn’t know about it.
In 2021 I was just about to know Mermaid High…but they changed the channel name couple months after,I could help promote it by watching it's library all over,at least it could work
I loved their art designs, the illustrations, they had potential for the dolls, but it was badly executed. I always felt like the dolls, apart from the quality, missed something to be appealing. Also the fish eyes a lot of dolls got was... Well they are half fish but not in the eyes
I only knew this from the game mermaid high on roblox which it would show advertisements on the boards in the game showing the toy lines and the npc were also the characters in the show I’m sad that the show was canceled
well i think the school is called "Mermaid high" because usually a lot of schools have spirit animals or like magical, wonderous thing that it represents like for example my school is named "comet" it represents a comet. So this school must represent mermaids for idk what reason, probably because the school is near a beach ocean.

As soon as I noticed that Mermaid High channel has only been reposting videos ever since months ago instead of coming out with new episodes i new something was up, so in a way i kind of saw it coming. As time passed by their views on their youtube would get lower and lower. Its a bummer that mermaid high was cancelled because their style was SO UNIQUE and the artstyle was just so pretty. I also really liked the plot. I even made a mermaid high fan channel which soon got changed to a mermaze mermaidz fan channel because i had a feeling i was gonna like mermaze mermaidz more. The only thing i like about mermaze mermaids is their animation style and thats really it. I find the plot boring and their outfits weren't as unique as mermaid high's.The outfits look pretty generic to me. And also if you pay close attention to the background music it sounds EXACTLY like the background music from Rainbow High. so this might be an unpopular opinion but...i dont think im a fan of mermaze mermaidz.I hope the show will be able to make SOME type of comeback. I wish the company gave Mermaid High a second chance, they wouldve gotten so far :(
The cheap fiber is called polypropylene, mermaid high definitely doesn’t use polypropylene it has a specific feel to it, a bit more …scratchy sharp and synthetic feeling, finlys hair feels NOTHING like polypropylene. mermaze definitely doesn’t use Saran either, Saran has a smaller range of fantasy colors, and MGA pretty much exclusively uses nylon on its dolls at this point, only the first batches of first edition repros of Bratz use Saran.
I was just waiting for the new episodes like I always do. I didn't know Mermaid High was cancelled I was just waiting to watch the new episodes. I kept on checking for new episodes on the day they were uploaded. Well I didn't know and now I know. I'm really sad. It was fun while it lasted.
I loved the show didn’t get any dolls but this line was so refreshing sad to see it go! They should’ve listened to their main designers if spinmaster put more money into putting those gorgeous prototypes on store shelves I believe they would’ve sold better
I actually wanted to buy these, I loved how the tail was removable vs the mermaze ones . I also agree there faces are way more friendly vs Mermaid mermaze line. . idk I guess I'll have to search for the dolls beofre they completely disappear.
The Mermaze Mermaidz doll with the black tail with neon green pinstripes to me looks like a "Jersey Shore" personality. Anytime I see a commercial for those dolls, I always imagine her having the thickest New Jersey accent and I just laugh every time.
I figured they wouldn't last because in Wal-Mart they were already half off. AND that is usually a sign already. Truth be told, I don't think Mermaze is doing well in Canada either as there are plenty of dolls still remaining and the Lol Fierce dolls that came after are almost sold out in Wal-Mart stores. It is sad that SpinMaster doesn't think they should improve the line rather than give it up entirely. There was potential in Mermaid High.
There's still stacks of boxes of Mermaze in Canada where I'm from...and I mean a lot! I bought Mermaze Rivieria at $25 on sale at a pop up discount store. With her crappy hair ,she is not worth $44.97 at full price. I bought Spring Break Mermaid High Searra and Finly, on sale .I'm glad I did before they totally disappear.

I definitely started to see mermaid high flopping, I ADORE mermaid high, I really like the girls we got instead of the prototype ones, the prototypes are lowkey ugly, like the oceanna on reminds me of that one my scene doll line were they have facial expressions. It's still strange that mermaid high is still active on there UA-cam, as they posted only 2 days ago, I hope there not officially cancelled! They, get way to much hate. And with mermaze, I definitely pick mermaid high over mermaze, I mean there so overpriced for no reason.
I knew Mermaid High was in trouble because MGA and Mattel are better companies than Spin Master and Jakks Pacific because the short-lived doll line from 2021 was discontinued since Mermaze Mermaidz came out.
I'll come back and edit this comment, but I was extremely confused with the amount of students. We hear what are supposed to be crowds in some scenes, but there would only be 10 or less students and that one teacher. Where is everyone? I can't think of any changes for the plot though.

If Spinmaster really cancel the Mermaid High doll line, i hope the animated series still continue. They all look beautiful, so is the animation. Mermaze's big point is on the doll, the animation looks kinda bad for me maybe because i had my eyes on the stiff hair animation all the time. MGA should focus more on the doll, except if they decide to make the hair animation more natural.

The ugliest, I wouldn't say that. But the most illogical, yes. A high fashion doll line that can't be put on water because it can ruins the doll's hair and some clothes BUT have a color change tail that can be use for water play.

I literally just learned Mermaid High was a thing today and obviously binged all the episodes 😅 it’s honestly a mess. No consistent story lines, bad pacing, and I personally didn’t like the animation or models. And Josh was SO gross to look at! Mari’s designs and personality was the best of the four, Searra’s was the worst. Edit: Just watched Mermaze & it is indeed a snooze fest 😴 at least Mermaid High was an entertaining kind of mess
I was never a big fan of mermaid high, but the dolls were cute. I liked the fact that each character was given a unique style, but there were some things that were less than desirable. Their hair was made with very cheap hair fibers which were most likely polypropylene, a type of hair fiber that is a nightmare to work with and, like you said, prone to tangling. Their bodies were not actually “fully” articulated. The only articulation they had was at the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Sad that Spinmaster chose to cut so many corners to “play it safe”. I feel that Spinmaster should have put more effort into their doll line. Mermaid High was going up against major doll lines like Mermaze, Rainbow High, OMG, Barbie, nanana surprise, etc. The higher ups at Spinmaster wanted to go for a more childish look, and it ended up backfiring. I feel that Spinmaster didn’t want to use higher quality materials out of fear that it would make the Mermaid High dolls too expensive to produce. They could have learned something from MGA (the company that makes Rainbow High and Mermaze Mermaids). Childish designs and poor quality will get you nowhere. I really wanted to like Mermaid High, I really did. It’s a shame that now we can only imagine what Mermaid High could have been.

Just disappointed because there was space for several Mermaid lines. We love Mermaids. Personally I liked the story and how it was developed. The theme song was dope! This is too bad. They can still resurrect it imo. The show is better then Mermaze and I prefer it to Mermaze honestly and the Dolls… although the Mermaze Dolls are stunning. The articulation could be better in both.🤷🏽♀️😑 oh well.

I know this hasn't really anything to do with this video but when I saw what the prices of the mermaze mermaids dolls are over there to compared to over here, I was so shocked. They are around €40 here which is wayy too expensive, like they cost more than lol omg and rainbow high dolls over here and I'm honestly just flabbergasted. I love the looks of the mermaze mermaids dolls but I just can't afford them cause of how crazy expensive they are.

Well, Actually I was looking into the Mermaid High's Fandom and they're coming up with Season 2, Which is going to be TBA, So maybe they're on Hiatus, for some (Strange) Reasons, it hasn't been ending yet.
Mermaze Mermaidz has a very Rainbow Rangers-esque storyline and plot. Aura calls the Mermaze Mermaidz girls to save the day based on their talents. Kalia calls the Rainbow Rangers girls to save the day based on their talents. Mermaze Mermaidz and Rainbow Rangers are way Too similar in storyline and plot! Rainbow Rangers caused another animated (Disney) series; LoliRock with it’s own dolls to be cancelled. Mermaze Mermaidz caused Mermaid High, another web series with a doll line to be cancelled. Rainbow Rangers became successful after forcing Disney to cancel LoliRock. Mermaze Mermaidz is becoming more successful now that MGA has forced Spin Master to cancel Mermaid High! I am super upset that Mermaze Mermaidz stole Mermaid High from me! I am also still super Pissed that Rainbow Rangers stole LoliRock from me! I refused to buy anything from Rainbow Rangers after LoliRock was cancelled because of the series. And I have absolutely no intention of supporting MGA’s Abomination known as; Mermaze Mermaidz because they got Mermaid High cancelled!
Alt Plot: a group of very cool high school kids go snorkeling and uncover the Mermaid High and get to hang out under water at the cool Mermaid High school. The rest of the story was cool. I love the line but I don't know about Spin Master. They have a marketing weakness.

Spin Master has literally said zero about it being cancelled. It's one disgruntled outfit designer online that posted that, and he took the post down. They actually plan to release the second season of the animated series soon, and the prom dolls are coming out this summer. I'm not sure why people are taking an angry tweet from a single person as the gospel truth about the line being cancelled. And, the guy who wrote the tweet works at MGA now, apparently the last time he worked at Spin Master, according to his own LinkedIn account, was 2019.
Omgggg I know the mermaze stuff, they sponsored mermay (an artist monthly challange) so maybe they just did a better job in marketing as well but not so sure
I personally didn't like mermaid high they were boring looking to me but I never bothered buying mermaze retail because they're $32 in my area so I bought all my mermaze 2nd hand and I love them since they're so unique with the hair and molds not a fan of the tails though so i gave them human bodies and they look stunning as humans

I found the mermaid high episodes really interesting but i wish they were longer! i actually found all the characters interesting which is so rare. i liked the designs but they look so low quality. like why are they a similar price to dolls that are much higher quality. here in Australia the mermaid high dolls are $50 which is the same price as an OMG or Rainbow High doll!

Also Mermaid High was going up against lots of popular doll lines like OMG, Rainbow High, Barbie, Disney Dolls, Nanana Surprise, etc. With the quality and money they had it was impossible to get the same traction those doll lines had to keep Mermaid High afloat (no pun intended).
I was wondering why Mermaid High stopped uploading new episodes. What a shame, because it was a cute show and it had potential. And the dolls were kinda cute. Those prototypes look pretty cool, especially the tails. Mermaze Mermaidz is okay, but does seemed more boring in plot thus far. The dolls are nicer, but I wished their tales are bendable.
Another thing to show this line is canceled is the fact their youTube channel is already reuploading videos of older videos like how the MH and EAH channel did/does when there was no more media that was being made for the series

Aww man. I was worried that Mermaze Mermaids would put Mermaid High in a tough position. I'm a fan of both doll lines because each has its charm. I really liked the characters in MH and the newer dolls looked beautiful 😢
I mean the price of the Mermaze have gone down because not a lot of people are buying them...They're $32 ($40 in Puerto Rico) while Mermaid High are $26...I have both doll lines and I have to say that while Mermaze has better materials and hair, Mermaid High is superior in concept and I prefer the fabric tails. My Mermaze already have chipped tails and I only have them in display, they're NOT that articulated!!! Their necks don't move that much, and they can't sit. The shoulders, elbows and wrist are ok, except on Jordie and Riviera because of their stiff jackets. For MH I can at least say they are worth it a bit more, I bought my Mermaze for $25 on sale and They're NOT worth the $25 let alone $32-40...That's just My opinion of someone who has them and loves both. Very sad that they cancelled MH, I really like them and I was excited for the sleepover dolls ☹️
Honestly same! I had both Mermaid High and Mermaze Dolls. I only collected Shellnelle, but I had a horrible time displaying her. The Mermaid High dolls I loved, but every time I would put them on stands, their tails would fall down.
@@kingdomorange2 That happens to me. I recommend to put a clear rubber band around the end of the tail and stand if you haven't already...It works amazing. And Yes!!! My first Mermaze was Riviera and it's super hard to make her stand up.

I was in shock over to the discontinuation of Mermaid High, just like Kawaii Crush, Chatsters, La Dee Da and Liv once did, Oh man, Spin Master wasn't very happy when MGA's Mermaze Mermaidz took over Mermaid High and yes, I knew it was short-lived and canceled. But no, Spin Master decides to give up Mermaid High forever due to its rival, Mermaze Mermaidz because those dolls have nylon dolls that were similar to the 2010 Bratz dolls, and the last episode called Visit Mermaid Secret Hideout came out 3 months ago and yeah, I want Spin Master to not sink too much money into the dolls due to MGA's Mermaze Mermaidz winning the case against Mermaid High. Sadly, for Spin Master, MGA released its mermaid brand, Mermaze Mermaidz because no one will get to see the new characters in the future again due to its cancellation. 😭😭
It’s a shame to here that these dolls were cancelled they were really cute especially the spring break ones they definitely seemed more aimed towards kids than adult collectors I loved how long their hair is and the fact that you can removed their tails is a fun feature. I much prefer these dolls to the mermaze dolls those ones just feel too garish and I guess tacky to me the moulded on tails are just a big no for me.

Those companies really think that every girl groupes doll are gonna be the next Bratz, just because they give each girls different colorings and girly clothes. most of these big headed, cute, fashionista dolls look alike, so the only way someone would buy some character , is if he’s somewhat invested in the story and became a fan.
They were never promoted well. I had to find them on the top shelves. My daughter loves them and I prefer them to Mermaidz Mermaze. The accessories down to the removable tails were so great and fun. I don’t like getting the Mermaze dolls wet because you can’t remove the tails to let them dry and then there’s the wear and tear from water play in general. The cartoons for Mermaid High were also great. I wish they would have given it a better chance. I feel like it didn’t get the push it needed to do well because people just didn’t know about it.
In 2021 I was just about to know Mermaid High…but they changed the channel name couple months after,I could help promote it by watching it's library all over,at least it could work

well i think the school is called "Mermaid high" because usually a lot of schools have spirit animals or like magical, wonderous thing that it represents like for example my school is named "comet" it represents a comet. So this school must represent mermaids for idk what reason, probably because the school is near a beach ocean.

As soon as I noticed that Mermaid High channel has only been reposting videos ever since months ago instead of coming out with new episodes i new something was up, so in a way i kind of saw it coming. As time passed by their views on their youtube would get lower and lower. Its a bummer that mermaid high was cancelled because their style was SO UNIQUE and the artstyle was just so pretty. I also really liked the plot. I even made a mermaid high fan channel which soon got changed to a mermaze mermaidz fan channel because i had a feeling i was gonna like mermaze mermaidz more. The only thing i like about mermaze mermaids is their animation style and thats really it. I find the plot boring and their outfits weren't as unique as mermaid high's.The outfits look pretty generic to me. And also if you pay close attention to the background music it sounds EXACTLY like the background music from Rainbow High. so this might be an unpopular opinion but...i dont think im a fan of mermaze mermaidz.I hope the show will be able to make SOME type of comeback. I wish the company gave Mermaid High a second chance, they wouldve gotten so far :(
It was discontinued, not cancelled!! The show that coincided with the line was cancelled but the line itself is discontinued!
The cheap fiber is called polypropylene, mermaid high definitely doesn’t use polypropylene it has a specific feel to it, a bit more …scratchy sharp and synthetic feeling, finlys hair feels NOTHING like polypropylene.
mermaze definitely doesn’t use Saran either, Saran has a smaller range of fantasy colors, and MGA pretty much exclusively uses nylon on its dolls at this point, only the first batches of first edition repros of Bratz use Saran.
I was just waiting for the new episodes like I always do. I didn't know Mermaid High was cancelled I was just waiting to watch the new episodes. I kept on checking for new episodes on the day they were uploaded. Well I didn't know and now I know. I'm really sad. It was fun while it lasted.
I loved the show didn’t get any dolls but this line was so refreshing sad to see it go! They should’ve listened to their main designers if spinmaster put more money into putting those gorgeous prototypes on store shelves I believe they would’ve sold better
I actually wanted to buy these, I loved how the tail was removable vs the mermaze ones . I also agree there faces are way more friendly vs Mermaid mermaze line. . idk I guess I'll have to search for the dolls beofre they completely disappear.

The Mermaze Mermaidz doll with the black tail with neon green pinstripes to me looks like a "Jersey Shore" personality. Anytime I see a commercial for those dolls, I always imagine her having the thickest New Jersey accent and I just laugh every time.

I figured they wouldn't last because in Wal-Mart they were already half off. AND that is usually a sign already. Truth be told, I don't think Mermaze is doing well in Canada either as there are plenty of dolls still remaining and the Lol Fierce dolls that came after are almost sold out in Wal-Mart stores.

There's still stacks of boxes of Mermaze in Canada where I'm from...and I mean a lot! I bought Mermaze Rivieria at $25 on sale at a pop up discount store. With her crappy hair ,she is not worth $44.97 at full price. I bought Spring Break Mermaid High Searra and Finly, on sale .I'm glad I did before they totally disappear.

I definitely started to see mermaid high flopping, I ADORE mermaid high, I really like the girls we got instead of the prototype ones, the prototypes are lowkey ugly, like the oceanna on reminds me of that one my scene doll line were they have facial expressions. It's still strange that mermaid high is still active on there UA-cam, as they posted only 2 days ago, I hope there not officially cancelled! They, get way to much hate. And with mermaze, I definitely pick mermaid high over mermaze, I mean there so overpriced for no reason.

I found two of the Spring Break dolls on clearance at Walmart today and was reminded of this video lol I ended up getting them.
If Spinmaster really cancel the Mermaid High doll line, i hope the animated series still continue. They all look beautiful, so is the animation. Mermaze's big point is on the doll, the animation looks kinda bad for me maybe because i had my eyes on the stiff hair animation all the time. MGA should focus more on the doll, except if they decide to make the hair animation more natural.

I literally just learned Mermaid High was a thing today and obviously binged all the episodes 😅 it’s honestly a mess. No consistent story lines, bad pacing, and I personally didn’t like the animation or models. And Josh was SO gross to look at! Mari’s designs and personality was the best of the four, Searra’s was the worst.
Edit: Just watched Mermaze & it is indeed a snooze fest 😴 at least Mermaid High was an entertaining kind of mess

I was never a big fan of mermaid high, but the dolls were cute. I liked the fact that each character was given a unique style, but there were some things that were less than desirable. Their hair was made with very cheap hair fibers which were most likely polypropylene, a type of hair fiber that is a nightmare to work with and, like you said, prone to tangling. Their bodies were not actually “fully” articulated. The only articulation they had was at the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Sad that Spinmaster chose to cut so many corners to “play it safe”. I feel that Spinmaster should have put more effort into their doll line. Mermaid High was going up against major doll lines like Mermaze, Rainbow High, OMG, Barbie, nanana surprise, etc. The higher ups at Spinmaster wanted to go for a more childish look, and it ended up backfiring. I feel that Spinmaster didn’t want to use higher quality materials out of fear that it would make the Mermaid High dolls too expensive to produce. They could have learned something from MGA (the company that makes Rainbow High and Mermaze Mermaids). Childish designs and poor quality will get you nowhere. I really wanted to like Mermaid High, I really did. It’s a shame that now we can only imagine what Mermaid High could have been.

Just disappointed because there was space for several Mermaid lines. We love Mermaids. Personally I liked the story and how it was developed. The theme song was dope! This is too bad. They can still resurrect it imo. The show is better then Mermaze and I prefer it to Mermaze honestly and the Dolls… although the Mermaze Dolls are stunning. The articulation could be better in both.🤷🏽♀️😑 oh well.

They are around €40 here which is wayy too expensive, like they cost more than lol omg and rainbow high dolls over here and I'm honestly just flabbergasted. Alt Plot: a group of very cool high school kids go snorkeling and uncover the Mermaid High and get to hang out under water at the cool Mermaid High school. The rest of the story was cool. I love the line but I don't know about Spin Master. They have a marketing weakness.

Spin Master has literally said zero about it being cancelled. It's one disgruntled outfit designer online that posted that, and he took the post down. They actually plan to release the second season of the animated series soon, and the prom dolls are coming out this summer. I'm not sure why people are taking an angry tweet from a single person as the gospel truth about the line being cancelled. And, the guy who wrote the tweet works at MGA now, apparently the last time he worked at Spin Master, according to his own LinkedIn account, was 2019.

I found the mermaid high episodes really interesting but i wish they were longer! i actually found all the characters interesting which is so rare. i liked the designs but they look so low quality. like why are they a similar price to dolls that are much higher quality. here in Australia the mermaid high dolls are $50 which is the same price as an OMG or Rainbow High doll!
