Hey guys:) There are many comments about me calling Frankie with the wrong pronouns. I know that g1 and g3 are different universes. I didn’t want to be disrespectful that’s why I called her with they/them/theirs pronouns. I’ll make sure to refer to g1 Frankie with she/her/hers pronouns. What I’m hearing is you didn’t wanna get attacked by crazy people who think cuz g3 Frankie is now nonbinary every interpretation now has to be which is false. G3 weirdos themselves keep telling us that it’s not in the same universe so if they come for you we got your back
@@Bionic_Webb No, Veka literally said they were attacked for using the non-binary pronouns instead of she/her for g1 and g2 Frankie. So the people who are against they/them pronouns are the ones attacking Veka.
It's always baffled me why Draculaura is still in school. Like, obviously she can't age, but surely she would have completed her course work a dozen times over.

I think it's due to constant advances in the academic world. For instance, if you were raised in a time where there were only 13 discovered periodic elements, or where you were taught the sun orbits the earth, you'd need a more recent education. Not to mention the advancements in languages with some dying out and others evolving.
Cleo’s mum was put in a different area of their original home and her family couldn’t reach her in time as they had to go into hiding, they thought they would see her again but they didnt

I remember someone made a video about Spectra and I mentioned because of her journalism and her habit to make up stories, my theory is that she was a journalist who crossed the wrong people and to keep her quiet, she was killed via drowning based on the balls and chains on her shoes.
As dark as that is, it would make sense

Draculaura was born in 412 ad then 1600 years later the “Why do ghouls fall in love” movie takes place, and it takes place in 2012 WHEN THE MOVIE WAS RELEASED! The writers did good with this one
I like how the older characters like Cleo and Draculaura have more backstory than Clawdeen, Frankie, etc. It makes sense.

The portrayal of vampires, whether pure-blood or otherwise, varies widely across different works of fiction, so the specific characteristics and abilities of pure-blood vampires can vary depending on the story.
The closest thing in mythology that comes to mind is a Strigoi. According to the mythos, they're pre-destined to one of the undead from birth.
Cleo and Nefera's backstory is so tragic it justifies all their mean behaviours. I feel sorry for them...
it could also be trust issues, because that girl who promised to return with help who never came back
Adding to the fact that their dad uses money to solve everything, I'm pretty sure this is why she goes against her dad and nefera and dates deuce, he gives her safety and love which cleo doesn't get much (or at all) at home. This happens in a few movies.

I don’t think it justifies their behavior but it’s understandable
I still have so many questions about their backstory it's so interesting and makes sense but at the same time so confusing still. I wish we got more information about the characters backstories they're so interesting
Also worth noting that Frankie's back story is different in the Lisa H books. She is actually the GREAT granddaughter of Dr. Frankenstein and the granddaughter of Frankenstein's monster. She also isnt made up of multiple cadavers, instead the body parts that make her are artificial (I think 3d printed?) which makes sense considering finding bodies that match would be difficult bc people come in all shapes and sizes. Her psychical appearance is also slightly different.
really was hoping the lisa mh books were gonna be the inspiration for the live action. that’s how G1’s 3D movies were up until after Ghouls Rule

As someone who didn’t really get into monster high as a kid when I grew up, it’s interesting listening to their voices and I love how much the voices suit the characters. It’s great casting and great voice acting from these short glimpses. Plus it’s interesting see that they have family
same but I did watched a part of it since my cousin gave me a dvd for christmas
You know what's creepy? Ramses brother tried to kill his family and Nef and Cleo also have a rivalry lol but they'd never do that. When thinking of villains Aminita isn't mentioned enough, she's pure evil for what she did! And Cleo and Drac's backstories are so sad :(
Spectra and Toralei's backstories are so sad too
I don't know, if we are talking gen 1 Nef did try to marry off Cleo to a stranger with the intent to manipulate her and take over the world. Not to mention how she bullies Cleo and Deuce to the point Deuce ends up leaving Cleo due to being manipulated by Nef and both of them end up so depressed they have no motivation to do anything anymore and they just do what others tell them to do even if they are against it. Then when they realised they wanted to be together forever Nef tried to use multiple magical items to try and make them lose all hope and love that they had so I wouldn't be surprised if she tried to murder her at some point either in the past or future. I mean she did bring them to a point that would cause most people to commit sui***e which I feel like is basically the same thing as murdering someone
I think Monster High should create an animation series (or a full length movie) that deeper explores the lives of Monster High characters post enrollment. The backstories of characters like Cleo, Draculaura, and Spectra are simply too interesting and complex to be reduced to a couple sentences in various diaries. It needs more attention and depth! And also, they should show the backstories of other characters who don’t really have backstories.
I think it would be a great way for Mattel to honour old fans, since it’s confirmed that g1 is still alive and how Monster High is a multiverse. It wouldn’t take away from g3 at all.

Didn't Cleo say that her mother wasn't able to get to the tomb in time when they escaped? Or is that only in the dub version? I still remember something in those lines

Great video! Here are some other students who had sad backstories along with the ones you mentioned:
*Jackson having to move around a lot due to him and his mother’s (Dr. Jekyll was a woman in G1) Hyde sides constantly causing trouble.
*Robecca losing her father in an expedition (I can’t remember which book said this, but I think he was going searching for Cleo’s mother’s tomb to rescue her.), then breaking down for 100 years and being lost in the catacombs.
*Kala having to keep her Kraken heritage a secret due to fear from other monsters.
*Gil not having the happiest of home lives. (With his parents being Lovecraftian-like sea monsters, their prejudices make sense due to HP Lovecraft not being the most open minded of men.)
*Garrett Sander addressed the question of whether the zombie and ghost children were once human, with all of the zombies being “born that way” and some of the ghost kids being born ghosts or dying. He did not specify who had died. I theorize Spectra, Vandala, and Johnny Spirit.
*And it’s not just the kids who have sad parts to their backstories! Dracula and Ramses both lost their spouses, the Creature seems to have an unexplained fear of surface-dwelling society, I think it was implied in Skelita’s diary that her grandmother remembers being human once, and in Robecca’s diary, Frankenstein and the Bride had recently confided in Dr. Steam that she had recently suffered a miscarriage (heavily implied not to be her first) and that it was unlikely that she’d ever be able to give birth to a child. It was from meeting Robecca that gave them the inspiration to build their own daughter.
Great video. Their background stories truly are interesting. I never knew that Clawdeen was a triplet, and hopefully, we can learn more about Spectra's background and her family.

Since Spectra doesn't seem to lie so much as let her imagination run away with her before processing info, I wonder how much truth there might be to her fam story.

The part that really got me is Alivia. As, Frankie mentioned a lot that she is "made out of 100 bodies".
And then she says she wishes she had a sister... And then within 30 minutes, canonically: Found enough preteen bodies to craft a sister with...
Like, I know it's cartoon logic. But... the implications of what the school stores is unsettling. Like, sure: They gotta get those brains from somewhere. But, *still* xD
That said: I do find it a little sad that they made Ghoulia verbal in G3. She was really neat rep.

Actually im wondering why draculaura almost dies without a phone. If he phone doesn't connect, she has the strongest reaction. Not even clawdeen or frankie, but she is 1600 years old, phones not even 50. She should be know how to handle herself without one

Did you know that actually Dracula is not what they think he is he was actually a human and apparently his name drac which is the Romanian Romanian word for Dragon or a mix of Turkish which is still Dragon so he's currently a dragon

I get that it's a kid show/movies so it's supposed to be light-hearted and not so dark, but I wish the characters talked about their backstories more in the show and movies because I find it all really interesting and want to know more as I have a few questions

I am curious as to where the information of Dracualaura came from. In gen 1 and gen 3 we see Draculauras mother alive and well and in both generations it is her biological mother and both are vampires. In gen 1 we see the scene and hear the story about how she had to flee from Transylvania due to a miss understanding with the locals but her and her mother both made it out fine. In gen 3 we know that she is Taiwanese and we see her mother alive and well during the family sports episode.
I don't remember Draculaura's mom ever being mentioned in that scene, but the information comes from the diary of a Draculaura clloectors doll.
in spectras story "storm of the century" is a stephen king book and movie, and i feel like that wording is a nice horror related easter egg

I'm pretty sure dedyet got trapped apart in the tomb and is an explorer, searching for her family and she got trapped in the catacombs with hexiciah. I believe they get back to monster high in hexiciah's diary or robecca's sdcc diary

definitely should have (Gen 1) in title as a lot of these backstories have been retconned by G3 (which I kinda prefer, the character development and writing is way better in the new gen).
I was never allowed to collect,watch or play with Monster High. My mom always thought they were gross and “wanting a pretty doll” I got Barbie’s meanwhile my friend had maybe 20+ different characters 😒

The newest gen of Monster High has redesigned them to be nonbinary and use they/them pronouns. Since this video is focusing in gens 1 and 2 technically it’d be better use she/her since the reboot is a new continuity altogether, but I presume it’s just out of courtesy
