It was a fun one to romp around with and it took some pretty good hits out there with no worries. It is one I can toss around and not worry about breaking so it should make for a nice stress reliever!
From what I understand Hosim are one of the better brands producing cheaper bashers seems like a pretty good package I thought it handled the track fairly well considering track conditions certainly has a lot of punch you did an amazing job on the review very thorough take care mate have a great week 👊
Hiya Mark! It does seem like a really tough one, took some pretty good hits and tumbles and no sign of issues at all! It has plenty of pep and puts a smile on your face when those front wheels are hanging up in the air! The track was packed down and was super slick so I had to dial it back a good bit to get it around the track without spinning out every few feet! I will get it raked out this week once it dries up some. It rained for the last 24 hours so it will be later in the week. I want to see how it does when it has some loose dirt to dig into. Might help, might make more donuts, who knows! Take care and have a wonderful week my friend!
It is a fun little truck and having the extra body is nice. Eventually the first one will get torn or cracked from the tumbles and crashes so having a spare is really nice. Having a tough driveline and some other metal bits is nice to see as well. A lot less to worry about!
Hey Addam, It was great of Hosim to send you that X08 for a review, that is a great looking truck and you get a second body which is good. That is a real beast of a machine, now as far a the speed this little thing has some spunk in it and the durability is great. It handled the track pretty decent. Take care and stay safe.
It was super nice of them to send this over to me for review and it was a fun one to blast around the yard with! It is quick and handled all the harsh landings and tumbles without any issues. It did ok on the track but I think with it raked out and not soaking wet it will do much butter. The hard packed and wet dirt was super slick! I had the power backed off a good bit just to get it around! Take care Al!
Looks great fun but the enjoyment of building it yourself from a kit would give a hobby rc experience and make it so much more enjoyable as you built it etc if you know what i mean adam, great fun and enjoy watching your channel always.😊
I totally get building them is generally better in both the experience and the knowledge of building it. It is nice every now and then to have a RTR beater truck to just romp and put away dirty without worries!
It did really well and was fun! It took a good beating to and no signs of any damage to the body or the truck which is surprising. Watching back some of those hits, they were pretty hard! There are lots more options out there nowadays for sure!
Great review, Addam! That's a stout little rig right there. She took a few hits where I thought for sure you'd at least have bent a steering link or something, but nope, just kept on ticking. Great work adding the additional camera angles on the track, too. The GoPro facing the turn caught some nice shots!
Thanks Fil, it is a cool little truck and took a good beating out there with no complaints. I knew it took a few good hits but watching it back in the edit I could really see it really took a few hard licks! I was at least expecting some creases or other damage to the body but it all looks good. It will be a fun one to bang around in the afternoons after a rough day at work! I am still trying to find the best places for the GoPro cameras out there. I like the further back shot of the corner too, picks up more of the action.
Hi Addam, that was a nice honest review of this truck, it does look like a fun basher, that's for sure! The spec is very good, I do like all those beefy metal components and the metal drivetrain. Boy it looks fast too! These RTR trucks are getting better and better IMO. Good advice about the heat in the motor and letting it cool down in between packs, you might save someone from melting a motor there! All the best, cheers! 😎👌👍
Thanks Mark! It was a fun little on to rip around and toss about. It took some good tumbles and a couple good hits with no complaints so I was pretty impressed. I am glad they are putting good parts and components in them now, A few years ago many of these were a real gamble on what you would get but it seems they are upping their game to release stuff that can take the punishment of the speeds people want. Take care and have a great rest of your weekend!
G'day Addam!! 🙋♀️🤠 That's a good truck!, we can't get over how much good gear it has!, lights, cvd's, alloy shocks etc and it's got a tonne of grunt👊. The lap time was pretty good to, like you said the track wasn't even prepared👌. Thanks for your super detailed genuine review mate it looks like a winner🏆. Spare body too👍. Thanks Addam!. We hope you're having a ripper of a weekend😁🙋♀️🦘🇦🇺
Thanks guys! It is a fun one to run it took a pretty good beating without any issues! A couple of those hits were pretty rough and it laughed them off. They did a good a job addressing all the normal weak areas with upgrades. Overall I am rather impressed with it and think it will be a fun one to rip around and not have to worry about scrapes, scratches and damage! Take care guys and have a great weekend!
This is a very thorough and detailed review. It appears to be a great little truck. The motor getting hot if you have a kid who wants to keep running it one battery pack after another. I wish more companies included two bodies.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. It was a fun one to drive and it seems pretty tough! I think for a new user and the power turned down the motor would not get so warm. I was beating on it pretty well. I think with a motor fan installed it would be able to stay cool and run back to back. The extra body is a nice feature especially on ones you will be tumbling and tossing around like this!
Hi Addam, this is a very cool and equiped truck. The second bidy's for sure a big pro. Thanks for your gdetailed presentation. Have a great weekend my firend.
Thanks Dirk, I a glad you enjoyed it. It is a nice little package and it was a fun drive and seems pretty tough! It definitely took some big hits and showed no signs of damage. Take care and have a wonderful weekend as well!
I'm really impressed with some of the "toy grade" stuff these days. It's almost like a new RC golden era with all the cool stuff that's out there. I have a few WLtoys models and I they're awesome. I got a K959 when they first came out like 6-7 years ago now, I've never had to replace a single thing on that. I just recently picked up the new K989 version kind of on an impulse when I found one for $45 shipped. The original one is setup for drifting in the house and i put a 1/25 scale RX-& body from a plastic model kit on it. The new one has rally tires and the infraction style body with a bunch of cool lights on it, I think it's going to be a nighttime driveway basher. Also have the AS350 heli I got from them like 5 years ago. It has never had any problems other than when I crashed it lol. I will probably pick up one of those LDRC 1/28 drift cars soon.
Yeah there are tons and tons of neat ones out there and the prices are hard to resist! This one is on the pricier side of the market on Amazon but they have pretty much addressed all the normal weaknesses of them and it does seem really durable and quick so nothing really needed to upgrade out of the box. Getting two batteries is nice as well especially for new folks getting into the hobby as it makes it more fun. I have a couple of the different brands now and they are all pretty good, this one is definitely the toughest of them! Have fun with yours! Mine will be a great after work stress reliever!
Yeah some of those hits were rough watching them back on video! LOL! I have not seen an LVC like that either, it rolls under power for 15 feet or so but it is a super low power like you are barely squeezing the throttle. You still have full steering the whole time so it is not dangerous but definitely odd.
It really took a couple good hits and tumbles without complaints! The tumbles it didn't even bat an eye at so I was pretty impressed and it will make a nice one to blow off some steam with and not have to worry about it breaking right away. Parts are inexpensive and available so that is an added bonus!
It took some good hits with no issues so I was impressed with it. On a bigger jump it would have easily done a back flip and been easier to control in the air. that little jump was not enough to get it high enough to have time to make corrections well. It jumped much nicer on the track. Take care Pete and have a great weekend.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. It was a fun one to drive and it seems to be built pretty tough! It should be a nice one to have on hand to take out after work and romp around with and relieve some stress. I also don't have to worry about breaking it or cleaning it up perfectly every time like the others! That in itself is a stress reliever! LOL!
I did like both of the body colors and both of the body styles. They seem pretty tough as it held up very to all the tumbles and hard hits with no signs of stress or damage. I am glad you enjoyed it!
I am glad you enjoyed it. It is not going to be for everyone but it is a fun one and built rather tough! Not my normal go to kind of truck but it is nice to have something on hand to take out and romp around with and not have to worry about scratching up or breaking anything and not have to clean it all up perfectly when bringing it back in. Knock the big stuff off of it and it will be ready for the next time out! LOL!
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed it! It was a fun and tough little truck! I was even more impressed after seeing some of those hits it took and no damage at all from them! It does help it rips around well too!
Thanks, it is a nice in-betweener truck. It is not the cheaper and smaller ones all over amazon and it is smaller and cheaper than many regular hobby store kits. It is a tough one, I will give it that. Seeing some of the hits and tumbles on video I was surprised there was not even a mark on it after the run! Overall I was fairly impressed with it and it was a fun one for sure.
Excellent overview and run Addam! It sure seems like a snotty little truck! A buddy at work bought this as his first rc and enjoyed it…he got hooked then bought a Notorious!😂 Have a good weekend my friend! 👍😊
It is a fun little truck and going from this to a Notorious seems logical. I think with a bigger ramp it would easily do back flips! The tiny ones I have just did not get it up high enough to have time to do any corrections really. It jumped nice on the track though. Take care and have a great weekend!
You are very welcome. As long as you don't skate park bash it it should be a lot of fun! Not quite built like an $800 basher but it is a powerful little things that will put a big smile on your face! Have fun with it!
Awesome review Addam, I've had great luck with all my Hosim rigs. Super tough I can't wait for there new brushless X16 being released on the 15th. Fingers crossed I get one.
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. This is a fun one and seems to be really tough! It sure took some hits out there! I like the size of it too, being bigger than the 1/16 and 1/18 many are it handles the rough yard and stuff a bit better. plus the overall size makes a bit more stable. I hope you are able to get the one you are looking at! there are so many of these kits out there I can't keep up with them all!
It was a hard choice between the tow of them. I did like the racy look of the X07. This one was a lot of fun to rip around and it sure took some good hits without any issues at all! I am looking forward to running it again.
It was a fun one and it seem durable. I only have the one pack through it but it held up to all the tumbles and big hits with no issues. The parts are easy to find and are inexpensive as well so that is a bonus if something does wind up breaking. I had a good time with it and will get it back once it dries out around here, been raining since before dawn today and still going! Take care and I hope you have a great weekend as well!
these Hosim's are solid. I have the buggy X07 one that they sent me to review. It's fast though I did bust an A-arm on mine from a hard crash. Otherwise it's great. Hosim is an amazon rebrander. I think this is made by Hospeed? I can't remember. The parts though look like they are made by Xinlehong. Great job with this review. Very thorough!!! Love it!
Thank Ryan! It is a nice little truck and definitely seems tough from the initial run, it took some pretty god hits and no signs of stress or damage so I was happy. I know there is a lot of rebranding going on in this area of the market and that is fine with me, makes it so parts are more available for them!! I was pretty impressed by the performance and durability of it so it will become on I take out and use as a stress reliever and not worry about it breaking right away or sitting around with some dirt on it!
It was a fun one to run and 2s was plenty powerful and fast enough to tear up your yard and put a smile on your face! dialing it back just a little made it just about perfect and less likely to get overly wild!
Thanks! It is more geared towards newer users. It is a fun one and seems tough enough to take the abuse of a beginner or just for fun yard bashing around.
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. I do get offers fairly frequently now but a lot of it is either weird stuff like lamps and socks or it is kids toy grade stuff or lower end small ones. I turn those down as it is not related to the channel or not something I feel my crew here is going to enjoy seeing. The ones like this where the fun factor is high, the performance is good and the durability and parts support is there for them I will take a look at and share with you guys. I am not in it for the free stuff, it is nice but I don't need dozens on tiny trucks sitting around and shipping them with lipo batteries is a pain so giving them away can be expensive and an effort. I will continue to try an during the stuff to the channel I think you all will enjoy seeing and may be interested in.
I really like this thing Addam ! So many things I’d like to buy right now and after seeing the handful of videos I’ve seen on this truck including yours, (which was very good I might add) now this makes it even harder for me to decide on which one to buy. I’m not usually this indecisive when looking for budget trucks to put on my channel, but this year with all these good choices and limited funds it’s hard to pick one. 🤪 This thing was great for a budget hobby grade rtr! I don’t think I would want this on 3s with its current set up, as it would be so undrivable. 2s is more than enough. Super tough truck. I dig it a lot.! Great job on this review! Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend my friend!👊🏼😎☀️👍🏻
Hiya there Robby! It is a fun one and seems to be built to take a good bit of abuse! There are a ton of trucks on the market now, seems like more and more are getting in on the action and making or rebranding kits with changes so I can understand your dilemma! It is a nice truck and is getting on the higher end of price point for these type of kits but it seems very well upgraded in many of the areas where cheaper ones may cut a few corners. It can definitely take a tumble and crashes really well! I agree, 2s is plenty of power for it and 3s would just make it want to flip over backward on its lid! I am not sure the front tires would ever stay on the ground LOL! Take care Robby and have a wonderful Sunday my friend!
Yeah all you need to get going is the 4 AA batteries and some time to charge up the truck batteries. It is a nice little truck and it seems like a tough one too! It definitely took some solid hits and tumbles without leaving a mark on it!
New to your channel. came across by accident. nice to see a.... what is a better to say it... Wiser?... ya.... not older.... Wiser. lol. We both have beautiful silver hair. catcha next time. Have Fun
Welcome to the channel! Old is fine, I think I am getting older faster than I am getting wiser LOL!! In a few more years I can start working as a intern for Santa! Take care and have a great weekend!
Hard to beat it for 200.00 with batteries. The X07 turned me into a Hosim fan boy and I have 20 Redcats. Other than the new Valkyrie, you couldn't give me a new Redcat. Instead, I just ordered the new 8th scale Hosim X25 that comes with 11.1 and Cadmium gears. And Amazon had the Hosim Hyper Go on sale for half off, so I bought a pair of them for the grand kids. Great little trucks. I threw the Volcano16 in the garbage, because that's all it is. No more Redcats for me.
It is a fun little truck! I know Redcat has had some flops in their lineup over the years. Some of it seems really good and others are fairly poorly done. I only have a couple of their crawlers. I enjoy these little guys as I can take it out for a rip and not worry about it . If I do break something the parts are inexpensive and quick and easy to get. I will have to check out the X25!
@@AddamsPlayground I tried to reply, but UA-cam censored my post. I guess Redcat pays them. So I'll just say this, the only way to see the X25 is at the Hosim web site. The X25 is a 400 dollar truck and they offered it to me for 240.00. I couldn't turn that down. I paid 199 for my X07. It ships in October. I think you can still get it for 270.00. I wrote them and asked them about the new cadmium gears. I got buried in emails from all over the company. Really. They treat you like you're their only customer. It also has a center differential. The kids had the Hyper Go's out today. Not a scratch. One is 4 and the other is 10. They love their Papa Dan.
@@dannysdailys sorry, I am not sure what is going on. I know emails and links often get blocked but a normal comment should not. Feel free to email me, you can find it in the about section of my main yt page.
Morning Addam, just priced it up on Amazon UK, works out about $257. To be honest i thought it would be a bit cheaper, but I suppose that is the price for a brushless motor, 2 batteries, 2 bodies, etc.
Oooofff yeah that is a bit pricey over there! It is a cool truck but for that much there is too much other competition for it to be a great value. It is a fun one and built tough and one I will take out from time to time after work to be a nice stress reliever. It is nice to have a few around I can beat on and not worry about breaking things and cleaning up perfectly afterwards.
It was a fun one and it took a pretty good beating without any issues. I will get it back out some more and come back with a follow up after a few more runs and see how it is holding up.
If it wasn't for nostalgia I think the new rtr would be the way to go if you couldn't justify the thousands of dollars for a 6s basher or race buggy. Lots of performance and extras for the money. Looks like it's doing what it's designed to do well. Around the yard and at the park it be quite competitive
It is nice to have a truck or two like this in the fleet to be able to take out and romp around with it and not have to worry about tumbles and hits like my normal Tamiya kits. I tend to baby them and drive the lightly as there is the nostalgia and connection to. Ones like these are a lot of fun to grab a handful of the throttle and see what happens! LOL! It will be a nice one to take out after work and blow off some steam with it and then just toss it back on the shelf waiting for the next run without meticulously cleaning it all up like I do with the Tamiya and Kyosho kits!
It is on a TL01 chassis. I picked it up from Rex from Rex RC's about a year ago. It was a body from one kit mounted onto the TL01 chassis, he is always changing things up!
Hosim doesn’t make a bad RC in my opinion. They’re overbuilt and tough as nails. Their downfall is the bodies are a bit weak. Our Hosim 9125 now has a proline 69 c10 body on it.
They do seem to have beefed it up in all the proper areas. The body on this took a few good hit and no issues so far. I was sure it was going to have some creases or something in it after the upside down landing it made!
I have always liked the r/c world and I must admit that I will always like nitro engines much more than these battery r/cs, it is not the same, it feels very generic and very toy, much more fun will always be the nitro gasoline ones.
@@tomcat205 there is a certain extra entertainment with the noise and smell of nitro power. Electric power is so much more convenient and less messy. The modern brushless power is amazing and the bigger the kit the more impressive it is (usually). I am amazed with the big bashers from Arrma and others with their power, speed and durability. These smaller scale ones are fast and fun but the big ones are flat out cool, expensive but cool!!
Very true, the good thing is they are much cheaper if one does break. all the parts for these are very affordable. I don't think you would need too many unless you take it to the skatepark, it seems rather tough. That is only from the first battery pack through it so time will tell.
I had fun with it and it has not given me any issues so far. Obviously it is not a race truck or a giant 6s stunt truck but it has plenty of power and speed to get out and have a good time with.
@AddamsPlayground first run no jumps no crazy and the rear diff stripped out, the auto brake system just ate the gears out. Replaced the diff then the front stripped, then the front lower arm cracked, then it was the drive cups, then the rear axles bent, then it was the tire came unglued, this was all in the first 4 packs I drove it. So I got mad because these things are 200 bucks and we're advertised as hobby grade. Asked for a refund, sent a video of the 2nd blown out rear diff, they said 40% refund and I had to pay for shipping so I just kept it. Got all new diff housings new motor new drive train new everything basically and then the transmitter wheel broke off. I've spent close to 400 or more dollars on this junk car and it still sits in a box. The only thing that was half way decent about the car was the 5200 mah 2s batteries I bought for 40 bucks a piece. It's garbage. Don't sell people on buying junk so that you can get likes dude.
@@eliflynn7282 Sorry you had such a bad experience. I have run it a couple times and no issues so far so I can only go off of my experience. Believe me, these review videos don't get enough views to make any difference to the channel and i am not trying to sell them. I got them sent to me for review and I do my best to tell everyone my experience with it, albeit a brief one as it was only the first run of it. Again, I am sorry yours was nightmare.

I also don't have to worry about breaking it or cleaning it up perfectly every time like the others! That in itself is a stress reliever! LOL!
Both bodies looked great. I think this is something for my nephews would like to beat on, lol. Thanks for the review.
I did like both of the body colors and both of the body styles. They seem pretty tough as it held up very to all the tumbles and hard hits with no signs of stress or damage. I am glad you enjoyed it!
Cool looking truck perfect for someone just getting into the hobby so many options out there thanks for the review
LOL!
Nice review Addam! you showcased and gave it a good run!
Thanks! I probably talked for way to long about it but that seems to be what I do! LOL! It was a fun run!
Cool truck great review Addam, I digg it... nice features and man she rips....
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed it! It was a fun and tough little truck! I was even more impressed after seeing some of those hits it took and no damage at all from them! It does help it rips around well too!
Good review Addam, you certainly tested it thoroughly! Looks like a decent wee truck.
A buddy at work bought this as his first rc and enjoyed it…he got hooked then bought a Notorious!😂
Have a good weekend my friend!
👍😊
It is a fun little truck and going from this to a Notorious seems logical. I think with a bigger ramp it would easily do back flips! The tiny ones I have just did not get it up high enough to have time to do any corrections really. It jumped nice on the track though. Take care and have a great weekend!
Thats a great and thorough review, really appreciated it. I am looking at getting that rc for myself as an entry level. Thank you very much Addam
Great review as always! I have the X07 and really enjoy it. Honestly I think it’s my favorite rc that I currently only!
It was a hard choice between the tow of them. I did like the racy look of the X07. This one was a lot of fun to rip around and it sure took some good hits without any issues at all! I am looking forward to running it again.
Great review Ive wondered about these. Seems like a nice little rig ❤ pops wheelies pretty good 😅 nice driving. Have a great weekend
That is on 2S that is a pretty impressive little truck. 😮
It was a fun one to run and 2s was plenty powerful and fast enough to tear up your yard and put a smile on your face! dialing it back just a little made it just about perfect and less likely to get overly wild!
Nice unboxing and review. It looks like an ok beginner truck.
Thanks! It is more geared towards newer users. It is a fun one and seems tough enough to take the abuse of a beginner or just for fun yard bashing around.
Nice review dude!
Awsome you getting stuff to review that is great dude!!!
This thing was great for a budget hobby grade rtr!
I was going to ask you how many batteries went in the controller but you answered that so thank you
Yeah all you need to get going is the 4 AA batteries and some time to charge up the truck batteries.
Great video Addam 👌
Thanks Mark, I had a good time with it and it seems pretty tough. I will get some runs with it and see how it holds up!
"Its small" love your breakdown on the motor. I dont get it either! Nice Vid man
Yeah, sometimes I get extremely technical in the breakdown of the electrical components! LOL!
Nice review dude!
Thanks, it was a fun one to run around and toss about! It held up to everything very well and I look forward to getting back out with it.
They’re like a timex. Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin
It did laugh off the tumbles and crashes.
good review mate . 👍
Thanks Dom! It is fun and tough little truck! I think it will be a fun one to romp around with and not have to worry about scratches and breakages!
@@AddamsPlayground Sorry, UA-cam won't let me respond, I've tried twice.
Wow looks like a decent RTR.
It was a fun one and it took a pretty good beating without any issues. I will get it back out some more and come back with a follow up after a few more runs and see how it is holding up.
Nice the two body thing is a great bonus to better if one was clear.
Awesome! What chassis/car is the citroen in the back on the lower shelf?
Can you put the DeerRC around the track and get times?
At some point I will try to. It is raining all day today so it won't be this weekend.
Interesting
Not the normal programming but it is a fun little truck and was nice to take out a rough up without worrying about scratches and damage!
@@AddamsPlayground I completely agree with you. This is something I would let others use and try out.
Hey! Is my hair plastic? It is turning grey AND I am getting stressed out too!
LOL! I think that may be what causes it... either that or we are oxidizing...
I saw the ball bearing steering in it. I can't believe someone called that a toy it's hobby grade.
It has full bearing throughout which is nice. For me they are kind of the bridging the gap but more of a hobby grade than toy grade for sure.
Cast alloy is weaker than cnc machined alloy as i work in engineering company as you may know in uk cast alloy will break if takes a hard force knock
Very true, the good thing is they are much cheaper if one does break. all the parts for these are very affordable. I don't think you would need too many unless you take it to the skatepark, it seems rather tough. That is only from the first battery pack through it so time will tell.
@@AddamsPlayground I'm going to use my blizter beetle as my runner once built and put brushless into it etc lol
Little Ripper. Seems to have enough power.
Yeah it was plenty peppy! More than enough to put a smile on your face and get you in trouble! LOL!
Junk...absolute garbage. Don't waste your money.
