Files then converted using TVC 3.71 using following parameters:
Video: AVI-h264 'Custom res' 1280x720 (4:3) 60 fps / 5000kbs
Audio: 44100 / 128kbs
Crop left:42 pixels
Crop right: 8 pixels

Oh .. haha, well, I re-uploaded all the Hikaru vids because I realized that converting the original dump to 720p makes them run at 60 fps in Chrome. Which is a very pleasant experience for the viewer.
Now I'm doing naomi-captures. Last one I did this weekend was the Maze of the Kings.
If you still have your board and it still works, i noticed something really interesting while playing on one of these over the weekend.
If one player has the best 1st time on all four races, the rolling text during the attract changes to put in the initials of the best player in the rolling text.

To select Gasgano the machine has to have at least 700 plays on it. I have not reached that limit yet as I've not played so much, sorry.

@@JacobAnderson0, i don't know if it's patiente, but I'm a fanatic for the Pod Racer in Star Wars, so much that I've beaten all of the races with all the pilots from the 99 Racer game, and I'm doing that on Racer Revenge for the Playstation 2 as well...

Legitimate question for anyone who has played the arcade version in an arcade: How can I beat the first race on the practice course? I spent like 45 minutes trying and I couldn't finish one single race.

I have a dual cabinet and my hikaru board has given up on me ...I be tried eBay and all sorts of places to get another one, do you know of anywhere I could pick up one of these rare as rocking horse shit hikaru boards..... Nice vid by the way 👍
Yes. Hikaru boards keep breaking because they are fragile due to their heavy heatsinks and limited hold of the BGA chips. Sadly there are fewer left with time it seems, and they are hard to repair. You could try Ken at irepairsega, if anybody can fix it it's him.

I would, but the game needs to be played 700 times before unlocking Gasgano. I think I played only 200 times so far.

This game is addictive anyway.. and I think that both Quadinaros and Gasgano would be unlocked after those excruciating 700 plays, LOL!
this isnt pod racing, feels super slow and like if you were always holding airbrake, podracing is not about strategy or vehicle battle, is about speed, track knowledge and quick reflexes.
I agree. This must be some poor prototype demo game that SEGA assembled only for testing, in case they'd wanted to make a real pod racing game in the future.

well, not the complete machine, only the board. I played this in my Sega New Net City cabinet, with analog stick for a baseball game. Works great that way actually.

Yes, well you need to play the game about 700 times to unlock Gasgano, so eventually. Have a look at the playlist here:
