Ocean swirl is probably the top of my bucket list/grail pens. Its really stunning.
I bought a brand new Pelikan M 1000 with a Broad nib about 3 years ago. I have had 2 separate nibmeisters look at it because the nib is rough to write with. I think that the problem with the company is their quality control. Some nibs may be wonderful and others are a disappointment. They send out pens that are not properly inspected. Others have complained of this. My choice is to accept my loss or buy a new nib from Pelikan which is extremely expensive and no guarantee of a good quality nib. One thing is for sure : I will never buy another pen from this company. RS. Canada

The Pelikan Souverän M805 Raden Royal Platinum Limited Edition is my Grail pen. I’ve only seen photos, I never expect to see one in real life, and I definitely couldn’t ever afford one. Unless I won the lottery but I just think t is the most beautiful pen I’ve seen.
Have 3 x M805 Demonstrators. All with BB Nibs. Best writers I’ve ever had. I think the M800/5 is the Benchmark writing instrument.

I too love Medium nibs and I'm looking to buy my first Pelikan M800. Spending this kind of money I don't know which nib size to get ?? I don't want to screw up spending this kind of money. Which nib size would you suggest I get ?? I love the channel by the way !! Please help me decide !! 😂
If you like medium nibs then the M800 size nibs I would say a western medium = a Pelikan M800 Medium. If you were looking at an M1000 a medium in that would in a lot of cases be more like a Broad or Double Broad.

The M1000 broad is the most amazing pen ever made.
How sad that people are returning their Ocean Swirl because of the contrasting light and dark that a lot of us are looking for in materials like that.
If the medium nib of M1000 is so leaky why do you praise this nib so much? Bigger is not necessarily better. Haven’t you realised it yet ?
You are right, bigger is not always better, and I have come a long way in nibs. Although I still prefer larger nibs, I find the M1000 nib a bit too springy and the feed a little too deep that it starts to drag on the paper if you have a lower writing angle.
IDK IF YOU REALIZED BUT YOUR M1000 NIB TINE IS NOT PERFECTLY CENTERED
Yes, many M1000 nibs do come not perfectly centered, but it's no longer my nib as I sold it a couple of years ago, so doesn't bother me.
