concept artists deserve an oscar category of their own.
well they're all under special effects category. Star War's original concept artist from the 70's won an oscar for his work on painting the world alive.

It's amazing stuff and bloody hard work! And frankly very few films deserve their incredible art teams. Very few. Many films are crap (bad editing, bad writing, bad directing), but have phenomenal art.

Thank you. Not one of them said it was easy. I just went through this process. it was painful. It's great however when you get through it.
This video would've been a tremendous help at the start of the contest
so, concept art is the basics of everything in the movie &3D modellers just then know okay this is what I have to make ...... !

In essence you become a master artist and designer and you use all your best juices to make shitty movies look pretty. But the pay is good!

So? That's what being part of the workforce is all about. You bring your skills to an employer and serve their needs. You get paid. If you're lucky, the product also turns out good.

"we can't do what people did before" - i tend to disagree with that....there's a lot of designs that are memorable from the past and people tend to hold them higher than newer incarnations for a reason.
1:34 - literally said "whoa" and paused the video. Very cool.
Why? A blurry space ship? So many other amazing concept pictures in this video and you choose that one? :P

@@sonyl1143 You mean like M.A.R.S? or theres Zeno software for 3D work. Other software tools are Mari, Maya, Nuke/Nuke operator.
