Is it more difficult to slide on a smaller trucks compared to wider ones? I have 105mm Polar Bear trucks on my Landyachtz Dipper and I want to slide on it. Thank you
hey dude, great video man. I am wondering if you could do a tutorial on how to slide on a landyachtz dinghy or turbo king? Would be very helpful for me as my turbo king picks up speed really quick. Thanks again great video dude.
I have to be honest with you. It is kinda hard to slide on a dighy. It’s possible by doing what I showed above, but it is difficult. I don’t have a dighy on me also so I can’t film a video on it either sadly. Also, the turbo dighy has some more grippy wheels, so that will make it even harder to slide.
I can get into the position with my knee tucked, but I can’t put my hand down, the more I lean back the more I start turning toeside?? anyway to help with getting lower, I can’t really touch the ground unless I throw my body down
Thanks so much bro learning so much from this video. I did a stink bug and fked me back leg knee ligaments man super dangerous. Pro tip no stink bugs.. noted 😂
It’s all personal preference. Tight trucks can make setup carving more difficult however. Loose trucks can make setup carving easier, but you’ll be less stable and it can be harder to kick out the slide because the board will grip more with the turn. I ride my trucks kinda in the middle but leaning on the tighter side!
Hey mate, would you recommend the ATV perfecto for doing slides at moderate speeds? I want to get one so I can have a mix of street skating and a bit of lower speed freeriding on one board, or would you recommend a longboard? Is the perfecto also ok for Coleman slides? I am seriously considering buying a longboard with a large wheelbase and RKP trucks for a bit more stability after having a 52kmh crash on my dinghy a couple days ago. Thanks
George Herron I would definitely recommend having a street setup and a longboard setup and not combine them until you’re really comfortable. I have been sliding for years especially on street setups so it is pretty easy for me to get on the atv and do most of the things I do on my longboard, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a beginner. I would recommend getting a gordito or a side walker if you really want the kick tails but if you’re mainly focusing on downhill/freeride I love my cheesegrater and I think it can be a good board to start with.

bocap1980 awesome! I used to ride a sugar years ago. Yes, 78a is good for sliding. Most freeride wheels are 78a. It matters more on the shape and urethane. The free spirits might be harder to learn on since they have a square lip. I would recommend something with more of a round lip such as an easy hawg
I have a Santa Cruz longboard that's 39" and I'm a 120lbs woman. I find it really hard to slide even with sector 9 butterballs. Is it possible that the lenght make it harder for me to turn it? (My truck are pretty loose) Maybe it's just my stance. I'll try putting more weight on my hand
You may have to go faster to get the momentum to whip it around easier. Also don’t get discouraged! Sliding is hard and takes a lot of practice and if you keep trying I’m sure you’ll get it💪🏻🙌🏻
@@lylacrew1606 actually I get much less speed wobbles with the surfskate the wheels are much larger my ones are 66 x 51 mm. There's 49 mm of contact surface. Depends what type of skating you’re doing. For sliding and or shorter cruises I would go with easy hawgs. Fast freeride I would go with hawgs supremes. For downhill I would go with mini monster hawgs or biggie hawgs.
@@lylacrew1606 I want to get into dance freeboard and a combination of sliding, I want to be able to do slide at slower speed and still be able to cruise with mates from a to b
Oh I got confused when you said rolls because I’m used to them being called wheels my bad haha it all depends on the wheel and urethane. I have some old 86a zombie hawgs I teach people on when I don’t have easy hawgs for them because the 86a slides good in that type of urethane but I have tried hard wheels that don’t slide well so it’s just a matter of trying them out 👍🏻
Personally I prefer a top mount board anywhere from 35in to 37in with concave that locks you in well and a stiff construction such as the Landyachtz cheesegrater or Osteon observer. Another good choice is a drop board like the switchblade because you’re standing lower to the ground making it kick out easier👌🏻
BeOutdoors BeOutdoors Technically you could, but it would be extremely difficult. You would be better off sizing up on a board and getting some intended slide wheels.
