I played COD2 for the first time just last year and it’s easily one of my favourite Call of duty games. Fantastic campaign and the graphics hold up surprisingly well for a 15 year old game.
Playing this with a good pair of headphones is unbelievable. As soon as your shellshock moment is over and you regain your senses, it's just overwhelming noise that never stops until you get off the cliff. Explosions, screaming, gunfire.
Somehow this is more immersive than the new games.. they’re all about beautiful choreographed graphics but this is just carnage, and insanity.. like the war..
Look we all love to shit on modern days cod for the business direction they took but if you truly think this is better than cod ww2 then you're just biased as hell.

Call of Duty 2 in my opinion the most definitive CoD game ever made. It does a great job at portraying the player as an average Joe surviving one of WW2 most famous battles. And playing the game on Veteran was extremely immersive and you had to be careful in your movement and consistent with your shooting. Modern Warfare 2007 and World at War were the last CoD games that felt like Call of Duty, until MW2 came out and ruined everything what this franchise was about.

The reason I liked COD2 so much is it showed the humanity of both sides. It didn't show all the Germans as homicidal maniacs. It portrayed some of them as regular soldiers fighting for a perverted cause. I'm in no way justifying what the Nazis did. But I do believe many Germans were ignorant of what Hitler and his evil regime really intended to do.

I'm just watching a docu about that operation and it's amazing to realize how accurate the whole mission was designed in the game. Many things happened exactly that way, hardly believable in view of fake games like the current Battlefield V or whatever else these days.

Its like getting 3rd place with only 3 people competing. The number is so high because there were barely any actual soldiers.
@@garfd yeah at pointe it was around 6 maybe 5 landing craft if im correct, meanwhile at omaha you had atleast 3 waves of troops (also according to vets the shore was completley red from all the blood and guts spilled out)
Fat Cat there were 10 landing crafts all with 22 men and 255 men in total but 1 of the boats sunk and everyone expect 1 person drowned and 1 of the other boats where swamped so out of the 255 that were supposed to land only 90 were left
This level alone destroys all the post-Black Ops II Call of Duty games. Hell, all the levels in this game were awesome. It taught me more about WWII than COD WW2 did.
it was pain especially this level the accuracy of the ai shots is insane, and 1 bilion grenades, u really feel underwhelmed by the troops great fucking game and also MOH Allied Assault both of this game have got the best aproach on the D-day
This game felt so next-gen compared to COD1 and other WW2 games from that era. Look at the way water moves at 1:16. The character models, all the particles, the animations.
Thursday, june 6, 2024 - 23:00:15 I played quite the Call of Duty 2 (2005) in the year of 2018, when i was a child and was twelve years old, and in the day of today, thursday, june 6, 2024, this iconic mission in this game of the D-Day turns eighty years, this was my favorite mission in this game...
I'm comparing this to the d day part in cod ww2 and this is just so much better. It actually sounds better, and just lets you experience the chaos instead of just scripting it all.
I need to replay this! I originally played it on 360, but I recently bought it on pc, but never even booted it up. Steam sales lol, so many games I never even played yet and I still buy more........
keep in mind that they managed to destroy the guns and held the place with just 1 wave, the 2nd one was diverted to Omaha since they didnt find the coastal guns at first
Also remember the Germans had the bulk of their men and Panzers at Calais, had the Germans been further south the entire invasion would have been a disaster.

I’d say they did better on immersion and making you feel like part of the platoon. It felt like you were in an actual war. As far as storyline it was pretty barebones. Cod WAW was the best of both worlds, and multiple endings really help in Bo2.

In real life most of the 2nd Rangers that scaled the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc would've landed in LCA's that were British landing craft manned by sailors of the Royal Navy. Nonetheless one of my favoirte levels.

Probably because it has the same goals, there are like 3 missions where you have to defend a point, plus getting old of capturing various points. I'd say British Campaign was the one i had biggest fun playing through, second one being Soviet.

Yeah these are rangers, you can tell by the number on the back of the helmet and the fact that one of the men says "Dog company", and Marines weren't fighting the Germans or even close to Normandy, they were fighting the Japanese in the Pacific theater will the Army was fighting the Germans mostly.
The way the germans scream out randomly still makes me laugh when I hear some of those lines lmao, and of course they are just really fun to fight too, it's why I still play this(and the awesome ass levels in the game are another reason, probably played some of them like 300 times at least)
Playing this mission on hard level took me quite some time to finish. Getting through the trenches in the beginning was challenging. However the satisfaction is bigger afterwards.
Listened to an audiobook about dog company and point du hoc. This mission is shockingly accurate to what the soldiers that were there described that I had to look up a video and make sure it wasn’t my imagination lol
Shit, when i bought this game it had these graphics and i got like 15fps, it looks like cod 5 at max graphics. Me with DX9 - 19-35fps Me with DX7 - 50-300fps.
If look down the scoped Springfield sniper rifle towards the beach can see the navy battle ships that send the rocket missiles 🚀 there in order to manipulate and protect the friendly soldiers by clearing the trenches sometimes

Progaming 11206 they weren't tricked it was to foggy to see so when they bombed the beach as you can see it didn't go out very well

Play cod 1 whit the mod united fronts, its awesome
They put campaing in África, Italia, new missions, weapons and more
I feel the old call of duty games they put more pride on their games, in terms of the story line

In real life most of the 2nd Rangers that scaled the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc would've landed in LCA's that were British landing craft manned by sailors of the Royal Navy. Nonetheless one of my favoirte levels.

@@walkrough223 I'd say that the American missions were the least fun ones. Probably because it has the same goals, there are like 3 missions where you have to defend a point, plus getting old of capturing various points. I'd say British Campaign was the one i had biggest fun playing through, second one being Soviet.

Yeah these are rangers, you can tell by the number on the back of the helmet and the fact that one of the men says "Dog company", and Marines weren't fighting the Germans or even close to Normandy, they were fighting the Japanese in the Pacific theater will the Army was fighting the Germans mostly.
The way the germans scream out randomly still makes me laugh when I hear some of those lines lmao, and of course they are just really fun to fight too, it's why I still play this(and the awesome ass levels in the game are another reason, probably played some of them like 300 times at least)

This cod is better than vanguard and warzone.
Playing this mission on hard level took me quite some time to finish. Getting through the trenches in the beginning was challenging. However the satisfaction is bigger afterwards.

Listened to an audiobook about dog company and point du hoc. This mission is shockingly accurate to what the soldiers that were there described that I had to look up a video and make sure it wasn’t my imagination lol
