White tailed deer hunting can be very exciting during the rut. Big deer are driven by hormones and not their usual smarts. Most of the big deer we see during the rut are "travelers" and we've never seen them before. Some of these big deer travel very far from neighboring farms in search of breeder does. Our goal this year was to provide as much forage and habitat as possible to hold breeder does on our farm. It is our belief that if you hold the does then they will bring in the bro's. We've seen more bucks in the last week than we have ever seen before so our strategy seems to be working.
The deer rut in Georgia, for our area, tends to occur every year around Nov 10th, give or take a few. This year was no exception as we timed it perfectly with the help of our Bigfoot cell cams.
Preston's tags out with two big buck in two days. One was a nice 8 point and the other a cool 11 point with two drop tines-a first for our farm.
Nevertheless, whitetail hunting during the rut is super fun and provides for a lot of action from a deer stand. Deer hunting in Georgia is very productive as there are many farms which provide a lot of forage to grow whitetail bucks. Big deer get big by having the right habitat and abundant food source. White tailed deer hunting is a great way to put food on the table and unite with family/friends around camp.

I use my dog for blood trailing deer also. I put a small bell on her collar to help keep up with her location when off leash. I've also had deer stand & watch her approach, seemingly curious of the sound of the bell.
Appreciate what y'all are doing, &
    Have a great Thanksgiving!

We were thinking of adding a bell as well so we can hear where is he and when he stops. It’s a lot of fun watching a dog work and they love it! Thank for watching and Happy Thankgiving brother!

    Good job!
Wish i already had my blind built which was really the only reason I did not want to deer hunt this year
I'm not gonna sit in one of them tree blinds or that freezing cold blind stand they already have out there as i need a blind i can have my Mr Buddy heater in a colman stove to cook some food on and a foam mat I can sleep on...Oh wait... I mean uh rest on while someone else is on look out duty LOL
Got a lot of work lined up for next spring summer for sure to get ready for next year
