- Have you ever stood in the isle staring at all of the different deer feeds/attractants and wondered which one the deer like the most?
So have I - so I tested it.

Should I do deer blocks next? Let me know 👇
Idk. Just saying. I tried several different products. What might be good in my spot might not be another. I'll watch it no matter what. Lol
Big Game Peanut Butter!
Yes
Yes
They love antler king grainac deer blocks
Bag: NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION
Him: alright let’s give it a try
"Not for human consumption"
"I'm gonna try some"🤣🤣
Hey might as well lol
@@RipnStikOutdoors I think you'd have a hard time trying to sue the company after you get out of the hospital😜
Even more important than which food attractant deer paid the most attention to, notice that the bucks came into the food sources that had more cover around them, while the food on the edge of the wide open food had no bucks come to it and more of the activity was after dark. The best food plots are "Diversity, Wrapped in Security". As long as you offer them a diverse variety of stuff, deer don't care a lot what food sources they have, but they definitely care about feeling secure in the locations where they feed.
Yup
Okay, but how come I see fifty deer in a fifty acre wheat field in broad daylight?
No mature bucks of course, but still.
I'll never stop enjoying these deer feed test videos... Especially great ones like this with multiple products, great editing & accurate results.
I have the buck bourbon feed and attractant mixed with straight feed corn and they love it! I toss carrot chunks on top they come back every single night they eat it all
I have to say I have had nothing but good results with every buck bourbon product I have tried. The feed block works great and lasts a lot longer than a bag of coen
I use sweat horse feed and it's under $14 and it works very well... And it's from tractor supply... and it a 50 lbs bag so it can last a long time depending on the amount you put out at a time
I use sweet feed too! Works like a charm!!
I have to say Buck Bourbon is my favorite! Of course I’m biased it’s made in my home state of Ky. Great vid..
I just watched the video and enjoyed it great job. I’m not a hunter but we do have deer we like to feed in our yard. I went to tractor supply yesterday and got that 40lb bag of feed for $10 and 3 big bucks and a doe ate a lot of it last night.
Ive used just about all the liquid attractants buck jam, deer cain, straight molases, and last year just started using the big and J liquid and its by far my favorite attractant and great because the turkeys dont destroy it in 1 day like corn and other feed attractants. Good video keep it up.
You got a good problem I guess if you can’t keep turkeys off your bait. I have the same problem usually but for some reason this year they haven’t been at the corn as much. Been putting corn out every other day for the last 36 days and have only got pictures of 2 gobblers 3 times and haven’t seen them in over a week.
Been using Lucky Buck for years now. I've had several button bucks be 6 and 8 pointers for their first set of antlers. I'll use hundreds of pounds each spring/summer. I've had deer spend hours on it.
The thing to remember about what attracts is while the bucks are growing horns they need minerals. But when the RUT starts all they need is that other attractant. Use rut scent in scrapes and Doe scent on a hand warmer in a sock on a small rope behind you and let hang 50 to 100 yds out or put several in a half circle they will come running but watch your back while going in.
I've been using the Buck Bourbon for a couple years now. The deer in my area really seem to like it.
That buck bourbon should of been in the last championship round. Had huge amounts of deer on it all last season.
Buck bourbon has worked great for me as well.
Great content, nice to see someone try them side by side. Always wondered how they actually worked next to one another. Just subscribed
Really like the apple crush mix. The deer love it
Good video! I've been wanting to do this at my spot to see which one they go after. I did this with corn a few years ago and I had a huge family of like 9 raccoons just sit on it almost all night. I could imagine them laying around the house with bellies pooched out saying "I shouldn't have had that last helping".
They will wipe it right out
LL,OOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 🤣🤣🤣
I'm in Michigan. I use the Buck Bourbon and feed corn. they get right after it when i put it out. Nice video.
I own 260 acres n rather than blocks I buy a big bag of dicalcium phosphate n mineral salt n mix them n make individual licks .. they make 2 foot holes .. I prefer to use less salt more mineral approximately like 5 to 1 Dical / Salt .. the Salt is really only there as the taste n attractant so to speak the di cal for the antler growth ! I've read they cannot correlate or prove increased antler growth to putting out mineral licks but in my experience seems to help a bit !! Good luck to Everyone shoot Straight n Please Please Stay Safe 😎
Here in Michigan they sell carrots in 50lb bags for deer and it works great but some growers have these huge fat carrots and they don't work, sugar beets work ok need to cut them up a bit but straight corn works the best. corn is always hit first and gone first.
Got what I needed out this video mix a little b&j with booner blend for the feeder and maybe add a little extra molasses
Lol pulled a tooth out with a carmel apple sucker when I was a kid. Great vid
dang!!
I add 1/3 bag of sweet feed to 1 50lb bag of shelled corn. If u have the money to spare sprinkle C'mere deer on the top or don't.. I just always add some a few days before season opens. I also pour molasses mixed with mineral salt and pour it on a rotten stump and on the ground. I grab a branch as high as I can reach and pull it down and dip the tip in molasses to draw them in to a new spot. I pour a sack of wheat a couple days before the season opens and I also pour a bag a couple weeks before season hits and they tear it up, I pour it around tree stumps so they can't eat all of it what's left they paw in the ground so I have wheat popping up during season. So 1/3 bag of sweet feed to one bag of corn. Molasses and mineral or plain bagged salt mixed for a mineral lick, then pour a bag of wheat 2-3 weeks before season opens then pour another bag of wheat 1-2 days before season opens. It has worked great for me. Add sunflowers to your feed if u know someone that grows them. Piss on your mock scrapes and hope u have luck on your side
I used bags of Dried Molasses, Antler Max Mineral, Cattle Trace Mineral, Cattle mineral Mix & Fine salt with Yellow Prussiate of soda, 2 cans powdered of cherry kool aids mixed all of it then break & loosen the ground 2 inches depth, 4 feet dia circle, set it few yards away water source for deer. A few months later, the hole was dug up by the deer.
I find differnt feeds do different things. usually a salt block covered with corn feed with some smashed apples around it works decent. the apples put out more smell to bring em in, the corn gives em somethin to munch on while the salt block will last a long time. they have some liquid apple feed scent stuff I used before it it sticks pretty good and brings em in too
I started the buck bourbon a few weeks back and the deer absolutely test it up.
Yes, I had brought it once, not much deer interested in it, only raccoons.
Love your video !! You just saved me and countless other hunters hundreds of dollars. Just subscribed look forward to your other videos Captain Scott
Wild berry block works great. Sack of corn is my favorite.
The apple crushed 😂 giving the deer a.d.d. one bag at a time
😂😂😂 maybe easier to hunt?
I've been doing the peanut butter jar screwed to a tree trick this summer and have gotten a really good response. All the animals come in for PB. Might be something to put out there to replace the carrots since your deer don't seem to like them.
That's a new one
Everything loves peanut butter 😂 I've used pb alot trapping 😂
Yeah I tried that got raccoons
I have had great success with the big tine deer attractant, it has a strong cherry aroma and the deer in central alabama I hunted loved it.
Buck Bourbon is awesome! You should try the 110 proof! They love it!
Fantastic work, very well done and very informative. 👍 👍 👍
That's very interesting to see how deer in different states, prefer different foods. Good video
Mostly has to do with the time of the year
If you look at the ingredients on most of these attractants, “grain by-product” is usually the main ingredient. Rice bran is more expensive this year, but still cheaper for 50 pounds than most of these 10 dollar bags. Deer on my lease eat it like candy. They’ll eat 20 pounds in 2 or 3 days.
Cotton candy and big n j seem to be the 2 of the three best here in northern Michigan. Deer crack tops I’ve used tho
Pretty cool video! I started using the Wild Game Crushed Apples this year and the deer seem to love it!
Buy a bag of feed corn, dried molasses and mix em together.... that has always been what has given me the best results. Ohhh and its way more cost efficent. If you want some extra scent add some powder drink mix like koolaode or the big jugs of powdered lemonade mix.
Add soybean oil and you basically have big&j
Antler king products get made at my job. The cotton candy is supposed to be great we got a ton more antler king products available as well.
Thanks for the info.I'll try the buck bourbon. What is that bike called ? Do a video using cotton seed.
Ive never gone wrong with deer cane.. they hammer it!
I love these videos.
That being said, I have to ask this question again: if you're putting several attractants in one place, how do you know which of them actually attracted the deer?
Lucky buck is the absolute best. We’ve done some testing here in Georgia and it isn’t even close
maybe have to try that one if i see it
Well structured experiment. Great video!
Loving these testing videos. Keep them coming brother they are awesome content for the off season
Glad to hear you like them...I have a few more ideas to test!
I've tried the big and j before - never worked for me. Got wet then just moldy and the deer wouldn't touch it. Maybe i need to try it again
I stopped using it because it got moldy quickly
I found a bag of cattle minerals last year for super cheap because the bag was ripped so I tried it just to see what would happen and had really good movement on it within a couple hours of dumping the bag out. Matter of fact the deer have dug a hole in the ground where I put it
I've been using trace mineral salt for cattle. I mix it into the dirt. All the critters hit it, not just deer. Couldn't get the stuff a couple of years back so I put out a block. Not one critter touched it!
We've done a ton of this testing in Ohio/Kentucky over 1,000 acres, and i'm not sponsored by anyone or anything. Lucky Buck and just straight up feed corn are the runaway winners.
Interesting!
Lucky buck is the absolute ticket. It does not last on my farm. Nothing can beat it
Big tine feeds Trump corn on my property
you ever tried the buck bourbon im in central kentucky hunting a smaller piece of land tryin to do somethign different than others and not use just straight corn
@@nate.hanlon Use big tine feeds they make 3 different feeds they are the bomb
Ive had the best success with big tine 30/06 and their protein plus blend. Compared to plain corn last summer my target buck came in maybe once a day to corn but the week when id spend extra money on the big tine feeds he was coming in twice a day and staying there a lot longer
interesting!
black oil sunflower seeds are in 30/06 that's wy they come to it get a big bag 25.00 dollars and a 50lb of corn mix you get more for your money then buying that 30/06 feed mix
@@acidsquidartstudio2154 true done both the protein plus has soy beans to
Not sure where you are located but on my property in the mountains of Ky (that's all I'm saying) the apple corn is the favorite. I believe that most all neighboring properties and farms are using regular corn except for a good friend of mine, who is a mile down the road. He puts out some expensive cherry flavored bait, that I can't remember the name of right now. All I know is that for the past 2 years, the bucks that everyone are wanting, move from my property to his farm. The competition is fun and I get to rub it in when I get THE buck he and the guys on his youtube channel are after 😂. And, with bait that costs a quarter of the price of what they're paying for the "fancy" stuff. Seriously, 50lbs every other day or so is expensive.
People can knock baiting all they want. I know they do and will. I really don't care. One, a lot of us are older now and either disabled or have medical conditions that limits our ability to move as much or as far as we could 10-15 years ago 😅. When you young pupps get arthritis in both knees along with a torn meniscus, talk to me about "real hunting" when your hunting land stretches for miles.
My stands are between 100 to 250 yards from my home, depending on which side of the street. If my 4 wheeler were down, I couldn't hunt. Enjoy your youth and health while you are young!
Awesome video
S. Carolina here the Booner blend is like crack to them I've never seen them hoard a good like that...lee and tiff had a roasted corn that was great to spread over the regular corn but I can't never seem to find it...BOONER BLEND is exclusively for tractor supply it's the only place I'm aware of that u can get it
Nice video I’ve had lots of success with the wildlife sugar beet blend. But another mineral I’ve used is a product called lucky buck. Thanks for showing this very interesting
Lucky buck is mainly just salt. Go to tractor supply and get a Producer Pride general purpose mineral block. It’s 40lbs and $18 and will have deer on it every single day and it’s actually has everything they need in it! I’ve literally tried every single mineral and attractant out there and this is the best.
I used the alfalfa cubes from TSC and covered them with Lucky buck and dumped a gallon of Kool-Aid over it all, it did alright
Big &J apple Legit has been working for me incredibly for years. I mix it with corn and the does are on my spot 15 minutes after I dump it.
Lol the only reason I clicked on video is because my dyslexia thought he said tasted every deer item at tractor supply 😅
Tried Buck bourbon last year here in sc and they demolished it. I usually get the 20lb bag and put it over corn and then use the liquid
Same thing with me in Tennessee. I got the eight pound bag and added some liquid deer mineral on top of it and they destroyed it.
What liquid ? Big j ?
@@marciaflintoff treeline, it's a tractor supply brand.
I love it how he had to taste test it before he fed it to his beloved deer 🦌 😭
So good
Honestly i think the best is straight whole corn they just love it
This is awesome
Thanks! I've watched a pile of your videos through the years.
@@RipnStikOutdoors 👊👊🦌🦌🦌
UA-cam brought me here for the hunting content algorithm, but I’m staying for the deer bait taste test review.
Only 72 days until the NE PA archery season!!!
Won't be long!
The best part is you tasting the attractions bo 😂😂😂
Hey brother new sub here. Great video. Exactly what i was looking for!
Welcome!
2 of my favorite deer feed are deer draw max and persimmon crush
Nice job! If only the BIG&J was half the price...
That buck bourbon is my favorite
Isn’t this illegal in PA now? I don’t care either way but just had heard it was. I’m just over the border in NY and it’s been illegal here for as long as I can recall
also had good results using BIG J !!
I'm in Texas and use Treeline corn and soybeans with persimmon flavor
The bourbon buck works great in central Alabama
I used b2 and they didnt touch it next to my plan old corn pile. It ended up rotting
How did you record on that trail camera do you need a high gig did card or ?
I’m in PA too and I’ve had the same experience with carrots I’ve even put out the little baby carrots you get already peeled and everything and they don’t touch them which is weird cause if I plant daikon radishes which are long and slim like carrots they just wear them out
Must be they don't know what they are?
Could be because I had the same experience with sorghum I planted it for a couple years as a screen and they didn’t touch it but once they realized the grain head was food they eat it up now but they didn’t eat any of it for like 2 seasons…grows easier than corn though so I would recommend it if you’re in an area without much Ag around
I guarantee of a leader in lower Northern Michigan. Fact!
Oops, sorry. I guarantee they'll eat the carrots in Michigan
@matthewwichtner2935 yup, I agree. Carrots are a favorite in Mi
Carrots and apples at most bait piles up here in Nova Scotia Canada.
Interesting test and a fun video (thank you for doing this!), but a better test would have spread the different products out a very large distance from one another. They all work to a certain degree and they were too close to each other to determine which one was doing the heavy lifting. Just because they might eat one first doesn't mean that it was the product that attracted them to the test site. In my own limited testing, Buck Bourbon was definitely not worth the money and I'll not use it again (simple, cheap deer corn was far better)... but I see from the comments that others have had good success with it.
I’m a record rack and trophy rock guy.I drill a hole through the blocks and run rebar into the ground.Had a bear come to one last week in less than an hour 🤬
I love how bro taste test it himself🤣
This is great content! You are hilarious man. New subscriber here!
Kinda surprised big tine didn’t make the list it’s pretty good stuff
Thank you for this. Subscribed
I did a test like this a few years back with cmerel deer, beast feast, and a simple mix of cracked corn with roasted soybean. They went for the roasted bean. Also they seem to love candy corn. Lol
SOYBEANS ARE ONE IOF DEER FAVORITE FOODS.
I wonder if birdseed would work. Its probably cheaper, idk, i just thought about it as you named off all the seeds in the deer attractant
I'd bet that Sweet Feed horse feed would beat all of those. A lot cheaper and it comes in 50 lb bags for less than 15 bucks.
110 pro works really good
They sold me 11 bags of that cotton candy stuff for half price and the deer don’t even like it 😂
dang! i bet deer in the south where cotton is more available probably key in on it better?
@@RipnStikOutdoors maybe so not in Ohio haha
I’ve used the buck bourbon the apple and the apple flavor corn the eat it all up quick
9:28 THE HOLY TRINITY
Ain't that something
The regular cheap trace mineral block works best and is the cheapest plus probably really good for the deer
Need to get some antler max!
I've had good luck using the 110 proof..
Ur suppose to leave some for the deer also 😂
cracked corn and deer c/mere 3 day harvest work for me.
The smell so strong that even people drive by
Deer love apples, but have seen them devour carrots
I used the cotton candy it works really good
Your lucky that a TSC stocks deer bait. We just use pumpkins for bait for deer and elk.
Sugarbeet rush would be my guess
Big Tine wasn’t tried ?? Was it not available label at your TS? That would’ve beaten them all in my opinion.
Do you think real apples is the best? I'm looking to try that in my new land
