Great video, thanks. I don't know if you realised but your long "o" in "hold" and "control" i.e. before /l/ wasn't the same sound. It was closer to "all". Interestingly, we Brits do something different in "ol" too but not quite the same as you Americans.
Hello, mam l am SHILPI SHARMA from INDIA. I belong from village. I have show your videos l have really very much impressed. So , l want to learn AMERICAN English because from where l belong there are no such facilities so mam you please help me or show me the path
What if 'o' is a monophthong that you happen to pass through as you transition from /ə/ to /u/ and your brain hears the 'o' whilst ignoring both the /ə/ and the /u/ at the ends? If such is the case, then 'o' is really only a monophthong that we use two vowel sequence trickery to pronounce because we afraid to point at it directly.
Thank so much Keenyn. Great video, excellent, outstanding. Incredibly useful. Just realized that this particular sound is an area that I have to improve, polish and master if I want to sound better and more natural. As always, so delighted by your magnificent and impeccable content because of its clarity and impact, making things that are complex sound so easy, understandable and what is even more important; your uniqueness, which is amazing when it comes to imitate, copy or shadow a native speaker. You are the only one of its kind, simply astonishing.
In the word emotjonal, I heard you pronounxeď the 1st syllable with a schwa instead of /ih/, could you let me know if this is common in North American English so i can modify my speech? Thanks in advance 😊
Could I ask how to pronounce these kinds of linking, like " his a"/ "his his" , "has a"/"has the"/"has our" ..., in the sentences. It is difficult to tell when listening to these small schwar sounds

You're the very teacher I've been looking for for many years. You can't imagine how excited I am to learn the real true American sounds. Million times : thank you, thank you, ....... I can't thank you enough. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
This is such a wonderful lesson Keenyn. Could you make a video on how to pronounce ‘or’ if you haven’t already? I’m always interested and intrigued when I hear you say ‘corner’ at the beginning of your video. As a non-native speaker, I noticed that we don’t pronounce the vowel sound the way it should. I look forward to that video
Reading fluently means to be able to read aloud in a conversational tone. A lot of times we become more "stilted," with less vocal variation, when we read. A great way to improve is to try to read aloud and pretend you are speaking to someone.
