I'm in school to be a high school history teacher. My ethnic background (where my parents and I immigrated from) is Eritrea, Africa. Read in English and spelled correctly. Our little country Eritrea (to English readers) is pronounced Eee-Rit-Ree-ah. When in fact if we spelled it as it's supposed to be pronounced. It would read, "AIR'IT'TREE-YA." I live in the Pacific NW of America. I've always enjoyed our form of speaking English because we have no state or regional accent. I was speaking with a first cousin back home in Asmara, Eritrea earlier. I was detailing the importance of understanding just what phonetics are and how to use them to your advantage. Our area of Africa is in such a remote area that nothing of the Western Hemisphere post when Europeans we're forced to find an alternate route to India (due to the fall of Constantinople and the creation of Istanbul). We're located to the north east on the continent and like bad-ass King Leonidas himself and his 300 of Sparta did to Xersis and his thousands and thousands of assassin's. That tiny corroder the Spartans used to their advantage where numbers counted for nothing? Now go to a world map and see what corridor Eritrea has with what sea narrows and borders our eastern shores and enters another great body of water. Hi Keenyn, thank you for sharing this great lesson with us. This is that kind of vidies that we need to keep into account, I will. And the most important, practice. It would be great if you could make a video (or maybe a serie of videos) like this but for the consonants. For now, let's practice the vowels sounds. Thanks again.
why can't I received your accent training program? when I write my email and my name and click on the "join waitlist" it says: sorry we can't complete your request.☹
The way they teach English at school is shit and useless. Like we are taught how to write essays, which is quite literally the most useless thing you'll ever be judged on in life let alone in English. Whereas the accent, enunciation, pronunciation arguably which is the most useful thing that you definitely will be judged on is completely ignored
As to the Color Vowel Chart, the stressed syllables of "lunch" of "the cup mustard key", the "olive" of the "olive sock key" and "dog" of the auburn dog key" - all these stressed vowels sound the same to me

You may also mention that in pronouncing the word "computer"', actually you don't say compuTER. You say compuDER. When do we switch "ter" to "der"? Most native speakers just say it without realizing they are doing that. Another example is the word "international". It is NOT pronounced as inTernational, but inDernational.
