I was looking at what synth to get next over the past couple of weeks but after a lot of debating I realise that a stand for my current synths and a sequencer would be a lot more sense and get deeper into what my current set up can do. I can always buy more synths later. I have looked at Jasper stands in the past but went for the cheap stands with extensions added but right now a Jasper 5 tier would hold all my hardware synths and my controller keyboard and free up a lot of space in my studio. Keep up the great work Pure Ambient Drone. Your channel is great. Just listening to you provides wise inspiration. Thank you
Thanks, your too kind. As for a 5 Tier I hope it works, I never seen one in person and was wondering how tall it would be and how much space would be left between tiers so please come back here and post a new comment letting us all know about how it works out.
The Jaspers 5D 150S is a 5 tier stand that Thomann Music sell as well. Is yours the 4D 120S? I want to put all my synths and my controller in one stand. At the moment I've got 4 single stands and one extension added to one stand. Actually my red stand used to be a double tier but the extension broke and I can't get a replacement tier. Anyhow a 5 tier all in one would be ideal for me. I'm going to order mine next week so when it comes and I've got it set up I'll let you know how it is.
James I canceled the 4D and accepting the 5D I can always add a 5th tier as an option keeping it with 4 synths and add. 5th if needed. I have DSI and OBXA so the extra space may be needed between tiers
It's been decades since I owned a keyboard stand like this one...but I vaguely remember adjusting with my forearm underneath for security while my right hand loosened the knob.
I use the onstage A frame 3 teir I like thim A lot I did have a have a scare too I was tilting my yamaha DX7iifd and it almost went down good thang I cought it gave me a heart attack.
One of the things I learned early on with these types of stands (I have a few Ultimate Support A-Stands) is that should you decide to tilt or straighten out the bar you have to make sure that your free hand is supporting the keyboard as you loosen up the knob(s). Not doing so will cause the keybaord to fall backwards or forward depending on what angle it's currently positioned. My only complaint about these stands is that if you have a synth that has a lot of knobs or sliders like the Oberheim, Roland JD-800 or the newer Dave Smith synths it's very hard to get access or see the knobs unless there's enough space between tiers. If you have 3 or more tiers this can present a dilemma. You need the extra tiers for the keyboards but if you don't have access to the controls it defeats it's purpose?
Do you suggest the 5D 145 or 4D? I have OBX8 & DSI analog synths that need constant knob tweaking, is a 5 tier suggested placing 4 synths to compensate for space between to work the parameters knobs and menus. 5D would allow me to place just 4 DSI synths with room between for knob or sliders access? Please help
Thanks for responding to my previous question! I have one last question - I can only afford one board at the moment and I’ve narrowed it down to either the prophet x or the montage ... and I see that you have both. Which one do you prefer? Is the montage a true synthesizer or is it more of a rompler? Thanks for your help!
As My Emoji said, it does depend on what type of music your doing. I do more than electronica, I work with local media companies so I have to have a huge selection of sounds. If you are into sound design the PX is great but it can do more than that too. If you need pianos and pads and strings along with other conventional sounds, the Montage is great for that. But the Montage has more going on than meets the eye, just as the PX does. I know this isn't a real answer but at the end of the day it is you who must pay for the synths your using and you know more about your needs than anyone else. Now with that said, both machines are good at what they do. I like the Montage far more than the Kronos, just my personal taste and I like the PX far more than I did the P12.
basically with the Montage you easily bring the loot home. While with the Prophet the more the sound is processed, manipulated, experimented and, perhaps, for uses like soundtrack of video productions, I see it more indicated. And I believe that global quality and converters are also better. The Montage, however, is more versatile, you do everything. An eye and a mention also go to the new MODX.
@@PureAmbientDrone yes I have to see and compare the dimensions of korg pa 1000 with the size of jaspers. i want complete for laptop sound mixer module , stand michrofon...
Hey dude! I’m thinking of getting a 3 tier Jaspers stand for my keyboards, but I want to stand and play them all, I’m very tall at 6 feet 3 inches, my bottom keyboard will be an 88 note weighted board, my middle keyboard will be 88 note weighted, and my top board will be a 76 note synth action, are these stands easy to assemble when setting up and packing down when doing gigs 3 days in a row every week? Or much too much hassle and time consuming? 😳😳
@ Erik Martines Sanches ... Go to Jaspers web site, there are several styles of these well designed stands, and several sizes, widths, number of tiers, etc. They offer widths capable to support the 88 keys.
@@PureAmbientDrone thanks ! I need a Jaspers stand for my Kurzweil K2000. Its size is 104 cm like the Yamaha montage 6, isn't it ? Following your video and your answer, it seems I would need a jaspers 2D120 (I want two levels) but I would prefer 2D105 given my room. Do you think it will be ok ? If you put a 104 cm keyboard on a 120 cm stand, you must have yet space. Could you confirm because I don't manage to see well on your video. Thanks !
I looks hard to access?like the top Juno?! You have to stand for that one? Great Collection though! It’s like willie wonka in the synthesizers factory!!

I decided on the 5D has more options of using 4 or 5th tiers
51” width for 76 keys 🎹
I decided on 5D-120B
Man, I thought I had Gear Acquirement Syndrome....Makes me feel better ;)
This guy doesn't fuck around....
Just ordered Jaspers Stand today, super excited!
I'm thinking about getting rid of my bed so I can build a massive stand for all my future keyboards and audio equipment.
Beds are over rated. I sleep fine atop my synth stands.
I bought 4 keyboards back to back and my wifes not happy!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Better than drinking beers on my free time!!!!
@@salefau6856 Just pre-ordered the Obx8, trying to figure out how to break the news to the wife.

I use Standtastic multi-tiered solidly built and set up in minutes

This looks amazing. I loooove strong stands and ones that are not wobbly.
Thanks for the vid man. Very helpful
Jaspers stands are good, but absolutly not designed to make change often or to travel. Only for home studio with not heavy configuration changes.
True!

Standtastic stands 👌🏼
Nice synths James
I just ordered Jasper 5D 120 is that a good choice or 4?
I'm happy with my 5 levels of synths but the lower last one does take some reaching over a bit. Still I wouldn't trade it for a 4. 😉
what do you recommend from jaspers for korg pa 1000 + samson 61 carbon + ROLAND BK7M .THANK YOU.
OH man every studio is so different. I would say shop their site and find what fits your needs. Its all about space and what your room can handle. 😀

How is the performance of the Prophet X?
What's the distance between the back leg and the front leg? It looks like 2 feet... ? thanks for the vid
James I just ordered 4D for ergonomics the 5D the lowest tier is too low near my knees.
Yep it's a bit of a struggle for me too at times.
The 5D says inner W 120cm Outer W 130cm
Will my 5D fit 76 keys 🎹
Prophet XL is 118 cm L
You will have to measure your board.

I never took them back apart once i got them up. I am short and i find it hard to bend down even sitting to reach the bottom synth.
Is it possible to fit an 88-key keyboard on the lower rack in those?
The space in between the support polls is about 56 or so inches so if the keyboard isn't any longer than that it should fit.
