Moreover they were never certified for STOBAR skijump carriers and were always designed to operate off CATOBAR flat top carriers. So the fixed wing aspect is an intentional feature.

    Since the size of lift is reduced even our corrupt politicians can't force us to buy Rafale-M or Super hornet.
    Mig 29k and N-LCA and TEDBF can fit.
    Chances are like we will get more mig 29k as all know it will retire in 15 years and TEDBF will be ready. Or NLCA, as we can have more units of them, with better missiles it will be the best fighter because it has more service % and pilot friendly, Tejas already a good fighter and missiles are more important than fighter ( we bought rafale for their missiles ). @@agentnoobz5588 Hi friend i am talking about the design of aircraft carrier. As per the requirement, Only Mig 29k and FA 18 would fit. As i was talking about Navy not government or Bureaucrats that have power of finalizing deal and sanctioning money. Mig 29k would not be a good fit as this aircraft carrier would be in service until 2055 to 2060 by historical trend of indian deployment. FA18 would be a must go or TEDBF. There might be thousands of things that have to be taken into consideration even if we talk about government or even the purchases being done by a private company. I know the purchase is sluggish in nature which i am also disappointed with. Still I believe government has no other option now to delay the purchase as aircraft carrier has cost associated with it when completed and operationalize and government would be forced to purchase the aircrafts for it in next year or so. They can not simply sail the ship for years and years without having airfleet. Hope this would be a satisfying answer for you.

      Forget the Growler. It would need a CATOBAR system to launch. (The Vikrant has a skijump/STOBAR system.) But for the F/A-18 Super Hornet to operate effectively, it needs inputs from the Growler. But then, we might not go in for the F/A-18.

    Actually Rafale or F-18 hornets were originally not designed for carrier borne operations. However USA & France both operate larger carriers. Americans have this culture with super large trucks, bigger cars, bikes everything big since they have money power and can afford it. Even their Abrams are heavy tanks like Arjuna Mk-2, but they don't make hue & cry like Indian Army. Whereas a lobby in South bloc and army headquarters advocate for Russian tanks. Atmost 500 T-14 Armata may e bought and subsequently MBT should also be put under negative list for imports. Similarly only limited Mig-29ks should be purchased to fill gap until TEDBF is available. Subsequently even naval fighters be added to negative import list. Else Superhornets are poorly designed for carrier operations

  • @nxva8726
    @nxva8726 3 роки тому

    It's not just about the lift. There are many aspects involved: What are the mission parameters for Vikrant, how many aircraft can the ship is designed carry, what weight are the aircraft and max operating weight capacity of the lifts, and then width dimension of the aircraft. This video is just one dimensional. Multiple dimensions are mapped out while designing an aircraft carrier, and these can change with time.

    I don't know if say neither Rafale M or FA18 will fit. Then how are the IN planning to maintain this stick. Certainly not with Upg MIG29 Krap that's my prayer, again our forces should not get mediocre Russian craft which is not even available for flying most of the time. It's like buying an Royal Enfield 70's model and show off in roads but you will not go beyond your galli and most of the time yu will be doing maintenance to give a context. Come on IN and govt if your listening arm them with good sea going aircraft.

    As of now, it does seem that not having ‘foldable’ wings, automatically excludes the Rafale-M.
    But… I have a feeling that France and Dassault knew it all along - that the Rafale-M, without ‘foldable’ wings was too big for the lifts of the IAC-1 (INS Vikrant), because these dimensions are not exactly classified information.
    𝓝𝓞𝓣𝓔 : In 2002 too, the Indian Navy had considered the Rafale M - in service with the French Navy/Marine Nationale, onboard the 42,500-t FS Charles de Gaulle, as a possible carrier-borne aircraft, instead of the MiG-29K offered by Russia with the Admiral Gorshkov aircraft carrier.

    @alphadefencehindi in my opinion it is worthless to aquire fighters from foreign vendors because if Indian Navy starts purchasing from now at least it would take 2 years to finalize (including RFP and RFI) the deal and the it would take at least 2 years to start to delivery and 2 years to complete the order (Dassault Rafale has taken 4 years to go in production) and also we'll have to cancel the tedbf which is already in its devlopment phase . Please make a video on this topic. The purchased fighters would likely get fully delivered till 2028-29 and till the there will be only a gap of year or two .

    Although it is a very relavant issue that has been raised after the production of INS Vikrant but why suddenly this issue has been raised NOW ? the timings of the raising of issue is important as well as who has raised it now is also equally important ? someone is trying to push this issue with an intention of tacitly backing the purchase of a particular model of aircraft for the acquisition by the navy. So automatically the question that comes to my mind that whether aircraft carrier was constructed keeping in view only a particular fighter aircraft in mind while being designed at the initial stage itself ?
    a matter that calls for investigation?
