I feel very fortunate to live in an area with many Chinese and Indian folks just outside of Atlanta. So much great food. I look for little old ladies eating and someone cutting fresh vegetables in the dining room. That has never failed me

When you know, you know. Some of my best spots are those where the dining area is sorta small, because the rest of the spot is mostly kitchen. The food is amazing.

I grew up in a town where I could find this in 5 or more different places, just in town . Never driving more than 20-30 minutes to get to any of them. I moved. Now I haven’t t found it in ten years. I just watched your other chow mein video and now this. Oh my god, yes! Let’s preserve these Chinese recipes.

In the Chinese buffet I work at, we cook the meat in a huge wock boiling it in water, spices and red food coloring. We drain it, and put it in the fridge over night. We deep fry it in a fryer, and then toss it in a regular sized wock, full flame with oil and the red bbq sauce.

I made it like that too in Hawaii. I make it more like this video now. A little different. I use shoyu, Chinese cooking wine, aniseed, garlic and ginger along with what was mentioned here. My favorite way to cook it is sous vide overnight and broil. Has the best flavor and takes less time to marinate because it cooks in its own juices. I also bake like this video or smoke it in my smoker. Disagree with it getting tough with a longer marinade. I marinate for up to three days. The dad here and I are about the same age so we both have been making it for a long time. Aloha auinala from Washington 🤙

Hi Mr. Lau and Son. Thank you for sharing your recipes and cooking techniques to us. I am from the Philippines 🇵🇭 and I am wondering if you have a recipe to share in making Steamed Chicken Feet. When you go to Chinese restaurants here, it is usually on the dimsum portion of the menu. I tried making it at home several times but it always end up tasting like Chicken Feet Adobo 😅 Hope you can share your recipe if you have one. Thank you in advance 🙏

I don’t know the complete origin and history behind the recipe but when I see “BBQ”, it usually means I’m smoking or grilling it. Please try it this way. Either smoke it with oak or cherry wood (or any, I’m not telling you how to live your life) low and slow for 4-6 hours depending on temperature. Or grill over hot coals while basting every few minutes.
