    I have never heard anyone “snarl” at the color red like you just did! Haha I honestly feel the exact same way but it was really funny that it stopped you mid sentence to comment on the color. That is my least fav color. Christmas is so bland in our house. Lol
    So on your new channel a suggestion would be BLOOPERS! I think that would go over well. People like to see that youtubers are not perfect. Just like all of us and it would give a good giggle.

In fact if you want to see a quick Ted-Ed video about nicknames and how "a whole nother" came about, check out this link. ua-cam.com/video/KA7mpOvTgs8/v-deo.html You might find it interesting, and feel better about your regional colloquialisms. Laura, for your follower in Florida who asked about the Limelight Hydrangea, here in Florida we need to pay as much attention to USDA heat zones as cold zones. He/she needs to find their heat zone and then research the heat zone for that hydrangea. That info is not easy to find, I have had the best luck with Southern Living Plant Guide.

    • @coloraturaElise
      @coloraturaElise 4 роки тому +1

      I live in Central Florida and had poor results with hydrangias I planted in a part shade area of my garden about 10 years ago. I hadn't paid attention to what variety they were (didn't have GA then!), and the garden centers don't always pay attention, either! This spring after watching several hydrangea videos, I bought 2 and put them in almost full shade locations, and except for needing water every 2 or 3 days, they are doing great!

    Do not let your baby skip crawling, it can inhibit the connectors in the brain and lead to learning disabilities. My Daughter has dealt with learning disabilities and we had her tested at a facility in OC CA and they have a list of possible reasons why a child would have neurodevelopmental delay and one of them is skipping crawling. It's a motor function that the brain needs to be able to get the connectors in the brain to connect. PLEASE read this!!!!!!!

    • @asinheaven

      When I was in teaching school, many years ago (you guys were probably just crawling) one of my professors taught that "you have to learn to crawl before you walk." She had us student teachers devise activities where we would get down and crawl with the youngsters through activity courses, and up and down playground equipment. Make it fun!

    Oh my goodness, I'm so excited for you guys! I just bought a mug and tee for myself. I just moved from Los Angeles, Ca area to the south east corner of South Dakota, so I have been without my Garden Answer fix. Yesterday I binge watched all your videos from July and August, lol. I did however take the long way here so I could go through Ontario and visit your parents garden center. I got the copper watering can, a bee house and some seed packets from the locally grown section. It was hard to leave without a plant, but they did give me a pen to go with my written receipt! Thanks for all the inspiration.

    Hi Laura & Aaron! Great vid - love the Q&A ones. I'd LOVE long videos, too. Congrats on being such an amazing couple & the parents of such a cute baby boy! You guys are such "easy to like" people. Aaron hit the nail on the head when he said that y'all don't "put on". That's so refreshing in these days of so much drama! Laura, you are so right about the, "well, I seen this" & "alls you gotta do". Here are a couple that really drive me nuts: 1) people still not using the "he & I" and "him & me" correctly; and 2) people misusing "then" and "than"! When did this one start? Early on, I thought it must just be here in the south; but, it's everywhere! I've even seen it in advertising! Some of these "slips" are like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. I only have a 2 year associates degree; but, I grew up having some wonderful English grammar teachers. I just wish people cared about it more. On the other hand, I think that your "these ones" is adorable. Go figure! 💜

    I cannot beat the spider mites this year. These are new roses. I have only had problems with black spot.
    No black spot on the new roses but we have sprayed Neem oil with detergent. I am afraid they came from vendor with these. I just don’t know. They have mint compost. Bought from Heirloom Roses.

      I have been saying this for a long time! They could be gold mines for HGTV. Like Chip and Joanna did for Waco! Aaron and Laura are every bit as enjoyable to watch! Someone needs to come up with a concept and pitch the show then the world would be their ouster talk about merchandise! They could have product lines at Home Depot even Michaels and Joann’s the possibilities are endless! Someone make it happen!

    Kids...376K UA-cam besties and you didn't think you would sell more than 100 shirts? I am rolling on the floor with laughter you two!!! And lets face it...Benjamin would look quite handsome in a bird seed sack, just sayin'. He is such a cuddlebug don't you know? I have been enjoying your vlogs so much and I think I would be happier with a bit longer visit even though most aren't watching laying across the bed when the back screams ENOUGH so I'll bet the "shorts" will do well for many gardeners and the gardener wanna be. I thank you for all your knowledge and willingness to share it with us. Being a Master Gardener I still learn something each and every time you come to us with a vlog and remember that I only ask to be enlightened and entertained and trust me when I say it takes very little to entertain me!!! I can see that some would be upset with your dough bowl project being that cross-stitchers treat them as if they are gold BUT hey, any vessel can be a gardening container if you are a plant lover, just sayin'. I will continue to keep up with you as the gardening seasons change but must admit that my 2nd favorite season is upon us so keep us going with fall, pumpkins and leaves galore...yes I am a winter girl and it is my absolute favorite season, cool weather and a bit less to do garden wise. anyways...Happy Gardening you two!!!:):):)

    Great video. You two are so sweet together. Lots of great plant info, but I have to comment on the Benjamin stuff. My kids (son especially) did that sucking thing with stuffed animals and blankets. They both had beautiful baby Afghans my mom made and she had to keep redoing the corners because as they got older the yarn would break (they had a favourite corner to suck). Also mosquitos: did they bother you during pregnancy? They were never an issue for me except during pregnancy and now a bit as I get older - must be a hormone thing.

    Regular bedding impatiens do not like containers. (They do well in the ground in the shade.) Failed 15 out of 15 years. I still refuse to give up but they all fall apart and died in containers. Tried better drainage, more water, less water, different soil mixes, more shade, less shade, half strength fertilizer, regular strength fertilizer and they all failed! I also plant them in the light shade in the ground and they do fine. New Guinea impatiens will grow in containers but not the bedding variety. 😕

    • @______-xh4pn
      @______-xh4pn 6 років тому

      h baker I've had so much success with impatiens, which is weird because I can't say the same about other plants. Your regular/common/elfin variety of impatiens seem to be the most prolific bloomers, but hate direct sunlight. I have seen a difference in performance with containers vs. ground impatiens, but I've never had any die from containers. For some reason, I don't do well with New Guinea impatiens. They stay small, and just don't bloom much. I have impatiens in raised beds, in clay dirt by the woods, in hanging baskets, and in terra cotta. The only consistent thing I've noticed, is that the bedding/common/elfin are superior growers when compared with the New Guinea variety. I haven't lost a single bedding/common/elfin this year! I'm also trying out sunpatiens, and they're doing quite well in 6 hours of direct sunlight, but I would not recommend more direct sun than that. Impatiens as a whole are also super whiny about water. They need evenly moist (not sopping wet) soil all the time. They will stress immediately if they don't get that, and will die within days. In a desert environment, I can imagine it would be difficult to give them the moisture they need. Anyway, good luck with your impatiens!

      h baker I can't grow New Guinea impatiens. They just seem stumped. The regular ones I can grow great in containers but I didn't see a lot at the stores this year.

    Love the long videos. You hid the difficulties of pregnancy well last year. I love your garden ( and a little envious) but I really love your smile and joyfulness. Aaron, try a thermocell clip on for mosquito protection.

    More light T-shirt colors please. I don’t like wearing black or darker color T-shirts in this heat. Long sleeve T-shirts would be an awesome addition for the cooler months.

    Hi! Follow up question about dividing ornamental grasses - when can they be divided? I'm in zone 6a, and I'd love to be able to not have to wait until next spring.

    I am just wandering through the older videos as you had your beautiful baby girl today and no new videos today. Aaron you get more handsome every year that passes. Laura is a very lucky lady and well laura is beautiful as well and never seems to age one bit so you are both lucky. You two are so darn adorable. He almost finishes your sentences...i love it. I love the longer videos and i like the highlights as well.

    Hi Laura and Aaron! I’ve been watching you guys ever since you were still in your old house. I was never really much of a gardener before and have never really been that interested but watching your passion and creativity throughout the years have really inspired me! I have not been able to dedicate much time or budget on plants this year due to massive home repairs that needed to be done first but all your videos have given me so much ideas for next year and I can’t wait! I just want to let you all know how much of an impact you have on your viewers and that what you do matters! Keep up the great work! Lots of love from MD!

    I have been binge watching your channel since finding you this spring. I'm a lifelong gardener but mostly just vegetables. I'm sticking with the Proven Winners! No deadheading! I need to comment that one of the reasons I can watch so much of your content is that you are not grammar stupid!! Thank you so much for being sensitive to that! BTW... I would call 'these ones' a double plural....is that a thing? Certainly redundant. LOL

    I was actually excited to find bud worms this year! Why??? (am I a crazy person?!) To be honest, in the past, I haven't been so very good at getting my petunias through the summer heat (I am also in hot, dry desert like you are, goatheads and all). Fortunately I found your channel and had a wave of inspiration. I was actually able to keep my petunias going strong until they got bud worms! This shouldn't necessarily be an accomplishment but it is to me and I have you guys to thank for it! I got the worms under control (I have done food gardening for a while now, not much with ornamentals, but I had BT on hand for hornworms) fairly quickly and my petunias are coming back. Thank you both!
