Suggestion for keeping the trees upright is a scrap of plywood for inside the container. Put a screw up from bottom into the base of each tree trunk. This would also raise them up a bit so you could see more of the tree branches. This is a beautiful project.
So smart! Would definitely make it super sturdy and wind-resistant.
I would put the whole thing on a piece of plywood, rather than the container. You could space them out a bit, so you could see each tree better, and really play up the “forest floor” idea.
Woodsy, earthy, natural and green. It looks like you just reached into the forest and pulled out a peaceful, wintery, storybook moment. Great imagination!

This arrangement is beautiful! The brown at the bottom makes it look more realistic for an east coast woodland understory. You made it look very easy & fun to make. Thanks.
Beautiful and so creative! Another way to create a similar centerpiece, for those who don't have access to tree stumps and power drills, is to use a piece of hard styrofoam (the type used to pack shipping boxes). It can be easily cut in the shape you need for the base and painted dowel rods instead of sticks can be used to create the tree structure. Lots of moss will cover up the styrofoam easily. Artificial greens can be used as well so the arrangement can be re-used from year to year.

But I wonder if it would be too too heavy for styrofoam. If so, any ideas for stabilizing?
@@kristiemcgrew4522 Good question, that could be a problem. Maybe some hot glue in the holes, or use florist tape to hold down the styrofoam or if all else fails, I would try duck tape and run it across all of the styrofoam, securing it to the vessel. If you have green duck tape, that's great, but if not, any color duck tape is fine as the moss will cover everything as the final step in assembly.

Yeah, when she said that, I thought at least she’s not at her dining table or kitchen island like I usually am in cold weather. My husband remarked the other day that most people probably don’t have to clean up saw/sanding dust from their dining room on a daily basis. 😬

I love when you do projects like this; not knowing how it’ll turn out but easily reproducible. Thank you for that! You could fill the container with wood chips..I wonder if that would provide some stability in windy areas. Or soil and water to freeze in place. Hmmmmm
I copied the basket she made last week I believe it was, with the spider plant, cyclamen, and Norfolk Island pine. I had so much fun making the candles, and shopping for the plants. I appreciate the simple projects that we can do for our own spaces.

You know, Home Depot and Lowe's always have big bins of discarded branches trimmed off their Christmas trees for sale and I'll bet I could find a nice assortment of greens and stumps from which too choose, and for free! What a gergous, natural table centerpiece! I've seen that, but using a tree truck and 5 foot artificial tree in it! You did a fantastic job!!! Love it!!!

I have a juniper, use a few branches at bottom of the tree for my 2 pots by front door. Those little trees are beautiful. Love the deer standing there too.
Why not add lights on your triple trellis
Give it some design.
You could put a couple heavy rocks under moss to hold everything down.

Oh you gave me an idea!! I wanted to trim out our chimney with lights but didn't like the look. I have a diamond jasmine trellis growing up it, I should run lights up the diamonds! Thanks for such a lovely idea.

This is so cute. You could use rocks to help anchor the trees in place. I think the rocks could also be decorative. I can also see you adding a water feature. I love it when you get creative. Thank you for another great video. Helps while I am laid up stuck on the couch after my back surgery.
Turned out so cute, moving the short one offcenter does look so much better. I'm going to get some branches and do one in a planter for the front steps.

I loved Laura's face when she got to the Princess Pine (around 13:28) and she wasn't quite sure how its airy branches were going to look. I've been trying to figure out what to do with the pot at my front door that will last throughout the winter and I think this project might just work. Thanks again Laura for inspiring me.

This was a cute, easily done project. Probably something I could do that would look good. Thanks for the excellent camera work that clearly illustrates how you attach the branches to the center stick.
Maybe some small rocks scaled to the overall display would also look good among the moss.
