PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale combo video showcasing what Kratos is capable of, be that old, new, practical or impractical.
COMMENTS
Been a pretty big fan of the God of War series for awhile now and always wanted to make some sort of combo video for Kratos so the chance has finally arrived. The combo system for the game is easy to get into so that's a great thing for people who aren't so good in terms of execution. Not sure how much depth there is in the combo system but Kratos is a pretty simple character. I aim for the most damage therefore some hits in the combo might not be practical. If you want to practice the combos, just take out the impractical hits (you should know which ones).

How to play Kratos
Step 1: Forward+Square
Step 2: Repeat Step 1
Step 3: HADES AWAITS
Kratos is the God of war! He says it himself. He doesn't need to be "nerfed"
Creators of PSASBR: oh yeah we'll give Kratos all these epic moves with amazing range and unbelievably fast recovery time... ok now we will give Toro, Big Daddy, Parappa and Heihachi the exact opposite of all of that. Yeah this is gonna be a fair game.

It was indeed. One of the better things I've read recently too. Love how Circle Nine basically surpassed most everyone else's expectations with their coordinated attacks. And the backstory was very well done and appealing enough that I almost would like the story to be canon.

Was hoping for some combos after grabs and maybe some combos into supers. But nice stuff regardless!
Of course. And yeah, I agree. Kratos is pretty easy to read, a bit spammy yes, but his supers are pretty weak in comparison to others. Lack of an easy LV1 hitconfirm, LV2 hitconfirms aplenty but that's a waste. And LV3 is readable, without any effects on the opponent like Drake or Sackboy does. His grapple was one of the few things that made him worthwhile, he was already easy enough to dodge as it is.
Ground Down Circle doesn't confirm into LV1 btw, Air version does as the landing reduces the recovery that the Ground version normally gets. Sucks that Kratos doesn't have much stagger-causing moves. At best, he has Down Square for a trip-up. LV3 is getting too easy to read without assistance. About the only way you can effectively confirm a hit with the Circles is to actually land a Ground version after an Air, because that is way too quick for them to dodge the second shot after a roll.
These combos are very practical and easy to do. The best thing about these combos is that they build Super meter very quickly and they are great for crowd control. Almost every one hits the opponent to the other side of the screen lol
Don't press crouch square more than once. If you mash it out, he'll swing on both sides. Just press crouch square once, and wait a split second, before you go into the launcher.
all of yall just hating on kratos just because he is the best video game character in all of existence! just because he made all of the other chacters in the game look pathetic compared to him. I BET MONEY HE CAN BEAT ANY CHARACTER IN ALL THE HISTORY OF GAMES!!!!! only person to put up a fight(but still lose) is asura. ON ME!

Yeah, Kratos indeed has his strength in bar gain to offset those weaknesses. Online, you have to consider the lag so you might end up wasting the bar because they were farther away/jumping/dodging,etc. when you thought otherwise.
All the haters got their wish... that forward square got nerf'd for angles and the recovery on the move is more punishable. Consequently, a few of these combos cannot really be done anymore.
But what if there isn't a side of the stage for the other player to bounce off to let you complete the combo?

Stupid amounts of AP gain. I want to know how in the last combo Kratos gains altitude after the two hits at 1:08 into another 2 + 1 hit to finish the combo.
Do some combos that don't require wall bounces.
just a lil tip 4 u guys, when you have a super level 1 ready, charge up Helios Flash (Down O) and immedietly press R2 for an easy kill since your opponent will be stuck in a crumple state and can give you a VERY easy kill. ;) no prob.
you press square and then down square. instead of square square down square. i was trying to figure out why i kept turning around also

kratos is really op in this game any times on fighting him?
advanced kratos playing:
step 1:foward+square
step 2: Repeat step 1
step 3:save for a level 3 supermove
step 4:keep spamming the giant aimbot shots
I too have the problem with kratos sometime turning around for no reason. I turned on the attack display in practice, and it seems to verify that I'm not pressing back. Frustrating. Maybe 1 time in 6.
Sometimes after i do Crouching Square, Kratos turns around and messes up the combo?? How do I stop this?
for some reason side square to grab and smash them in mid air, he won't reach upwards. maybe in a recent patch they changed it but idk..

something you cant escape from is square,square,triangle,R2(level 2)
neutral triangle causes that attack...i know its weird but i guess they ran out of square button options.....
The range of kratos is ridiculous.
press down square to trip he guy in front of you
press down square down square to trip the guy in front of you and the guy behind you for saftey.
down sqaure once will help, unless you like mashing buttons with blind fury!
You do know that this game is played with 4 people, right? So you can't just focus on countering one person?
try dantes counter, its doesn't work because kratos's square range is unbelievable

I agree that Kratos needs a nerf. His move priority and range (not to mention the variety of attacks) are the best. and he still generates AP normally....

Actually, Kratos can focus on attacking multiple people. Not even ground.
its hard to counter an attack from a character that has unbelievably brilliant recovery time, extremely long ranged weapons and overpowered attacks
Exactly, I will admit I do like what they did with Zeus - A very hard hitting slow class that does more damage when he charges, but does he REALLY need a teleport move let's name the characters who have a teleportation.

Some characters are capable of doing that but you can't cancel moves into supers.

As a Drake player Kratos is only trouble when he combat grapple spams and when he's a mother fucking kangaroo (Jumps a lot.) As for Zeus...

Combos for Kratos? The only "combo" you need to know is forward + square.

nice combos here. to bad most kratos players don't know what triangle or circle buttons do.. they only know what forward + square and R buttons do.. -_-

Kratos needs to be nerfed in one of 2 ways. Either reduce his range or reduce the rate in which he earns AP. Too many players online get away with spamming forward square or just square in general and usually end up getting level 3 even though they're bad. In a 1v1 that sort of stuff is easy to deal with and adapt to, but in a ffa it can be a nuisance because even if you can get around it they'll still get away with doing it to the other players and still earn quick AP and level 3

At least his supers aren't that good. In a 1v1 nobody lands the lvl 1, I'm not a big enough jackass to stand above him when he has a level 2, and just roll under him during his level 3 when he tries to attack. Also, just block if they spam his longer ranged moves. He can't really punish via throw without getting closer to you.

you guys are scrubs just because you lose to something doesn't mean its op and needs to be nerfed. It means you need to play the game and learn how to beat it. I could understand if maybe the game didn't have all the extensive beta testing plus being worked on by well known (Ed Ma, Seth Killian, Clockw0rk) vets each with over 2 decades of tournament experience at the highest levels of competitive play. But the game does have that pedigree so own up hold that L and come back stronger.
Combat grapple was nerfed so now kratosi who rely on that thing are gullible and easy targets...that and 90% of these combos are invalid now that you can't forward square people ten ft above you, they gave it a pretty good homing angle reduction :P That and if you block his forward square (do to the added downtime) you can strike him back right after for all the pain he's caused you >:D
