All these fast food companies complaining that raising wages is unsustainable, and yet In-N-Out has been paying a living wage with benefits for years.
In-n-out is busy all the time though
they don't have shareholders they have to kiss up to
Everything In-N-Out does is to a higher standard so it’s hardly worth comparing them to other fast food chains.
And they charge less than bigger chains now as well.
Most places pay 15 an hour starting now. Their wages aren't special, and their benefits aren't that great. I moved from in-n-out to a local grocery store chain because they paid more, had better benefits, and the work was easier, the hours more flexible and the uniform is wayyy less strict.
I know a lot of people think its overrated burger, and in some ways it is for some of the hype. But when you look at the burger, the price point, and the quality. Its a really really good burger at a really good price. It's always consistent no matter what. That's why I really like it.
Also the service is just great, generally. They are fast and friendly every time I've gone to them
In-N-Out runs a tight ship.
@@sushooligani bet you love tv dinners
Every time I eat in-n-out I get sick food there honestly isn't good enough to eat there all the time it's good for eating maybe once a month it really is over rated
What about its overrated burger?
I’m from New York. The first thing I did when I stepped off the plane at LAX was get in my rental car and drive to the In-N-Out Burger directly behind the runway and watch planes land while eating there for the first time.
I grew up right there in that neighborhood, Westchester, where the airport is and the In N Out. When I was a kid the closest In n Out was out in the valley or Pasadena. I drove a delivery truck for an electrical contractor when I was 19 yrs old and my route took me by a couple locations and I would always have lunch at one.
The location at LAX was built in the early or mid 2000 and from what I've heard that is the busiest In N Out location of them all.
Here's a piece of In N Out trivia that is fairly unknown.
I moved to North Bay Area of San Francisco over the Golden Gate Bridge about 15 minute drive in what is Marin County. Marin is known for it beauty, Redwood forests, quaint small cities and vast amount of wealth. Many very wealthy tech, musicians, actors, sports figures, it's one of the most expensive places to live in the country. I lived there for 11 years and my mom and sisters and nephew and niece live there. Well, the city of Paradise, adjacent to Mill Valley allowed In N Out to open a store there and everyone was going crazy in anticipation for the opening. Now, the people that live in Marin are like old hippies who became wealthy, they live in a bubble of crime free, living in the woods hiking, biking, eating granola and voting Democrat. It is ultra white bread place to live.
So In N Out gets built. Then the city tells them they can't have a drive thru because it is too unsightly and the traffic won't be good. So, In N Out has a drive thru window and driveway and is all set up for a drive thru but they aren't allowed to use it.
So there is one location without a drive thru. A company built on the concept of a drive thru and their first dozen or so location don't even have indoor dining only a small box of a building and double drive thru windows.
Of course now after they opened without a drive thru the people who live in Marin County complain about the lines being too long inside when ordering. Stupid people. That's why I moved back to LA.
I live in los angeles, and have been eating in n out for as long as i can remember. I have so many family members, and it makes me so happy when they eat innout for the first time for some reason. never have one of them companied about the taste or anything. also everytime i fly back from el salvador after a vacation my family always stops at the innout near LAX to eat
I know exactly which in n out you’re talking about 😂 I stay at a nearby hotel once a year and always walk there
Well, how was it? Seems like most of the opinions I’ve seen from people eating there for the first time is that they are underwhelmed.
@@gigglybeast somewhere in between fast food and fast-casual. Worth it if it has to be gatekept to the west coast, but nothing that can’t be replicated closer to home that would be of any significance. 7/10 if you’re from out of town, if you’ve never had it before you’ll have it maybe two, three times tops during your trip. I always go there at least once when I’m in LA, but I’ve only been to the particular restaurant I mentioned in original comment the first time I ever went there because I’ve seen pictures from there and thought it looked cool to see planes land while eating burgers.
Former INO guy here, According to our regional manager, the Company doesn't have debt. Never has. This is why they have exponential growth. It's all cashflow reinvestment.
Here in Socal - In and Out is still the only chain that offers a cheeseburger meal - including drinks and fries - for under $10. If they can hold that line and set prices under industry inflation then the future is bright
Here in Seattle, you used to be able to get a Jumbo Jack meal from Jack in the Box for under $10.
Same meal costs...(quickly checks Uber Eats)...yikes. $17.47, and that's before King County's "every time you buy a burger, you buy the government fries and a Coke" 10.1% sales tax (10.25% in the city proper) or delivery charges. Get it delivered and you're out 30 bucks.
@@SimuLord thats because its delivered, delivered will always be 2-3x the price when you buy it ur self
It won't be easy with the new $20/hr law effective April 1st, 2024 in CA.
stop.lies..McD Big Mac..Med Fries/Drink is only $6.50 on the App.
And guess what the fries are way better.
Double Double is now $6.00
@@SimuLord well we can still get under $10 meal at Dick's. but i'm so sick of dick's.
I once wound up on a flight sitting next to the Regional Manager for In-N-Out's NorCal Division and got to pick her brain for two hours. What blew me away was all the other ways they take care of their staff.
If an employee is going to college it's mandated their schedule's accomidte thier classes.
Holiday/spacial occasion bonuses/celebrations were comon.
EVERY member of the company started out flipping burgers (she began as a fry cook in '88).
The list went on.
As a San Diegan who travels frequently for work I've eaten at almost every "cult burger chain" in the US. Nothing else even comes close. In thousands of vists, In-N-Out ALWAYS delivers.
You need to look around more because In N Out’s best years are behind it
That sounds like socialism which leads to communism.
@@bigbosskingpingeorge god forbid a company treats their employees like humans, instead of slave labor. What a nightmare.
GTFOH with that trite BS.
@@bigbosskingpingeorge huh?
@@bigbosskingpingeorge So treating your employees well leads to communism?
It costs less than McDonald’s and it’s 10x better.
THAT IS NOT THE ONLY THING. IN-N-OUT IS BLESSED.
Living in California all my life, In-N-Out has been a part of my culinary delights for decades. We cannot say enough about it. We’ve done several videos on our channel praising In-N-Out about the quality of their food and restaurants. And yes, I love the Animal-Style Double Double Burger.
typing this from an In-N-Out Drive Thru in Colorado. good shit Company Man
lucky bastard
I ate at an In-N-Out in Lakewood CO today. I got there at open, 10:30. It is about an hour after that they will be super busy for the rest of the day.
I was in Denver transporting a vehicle in Dec 2020 when they just opened 2 In-N-Outs. I've been to a couple just after opening when they import employees and managers to get each location running effectively. About a week after I went, they had a massive Covid outbreak there. Just missed it...
I live in the Midwest, have spent some time in Utah and Nevada. Have been to In-N-Out probably ten times. One word fantastic! You could go to your average McDonald's or Wendy's and find five employees. Everytime I went to In-N-Out , 15 employees on average.
@@randallsmith6617there’s also the price point comparison.
In n Out easily has significantly better prices than McNasty and Deez.
I was born and raised in San Diego all my life. I can confidently say that In-N-Out's food and service quality has stayed consistently great and that I regularly go there a lot!
It’s not consistent. I had it in Los Angeles and it was good. I had it in Arizona and the burger resembled a fat lettuce sandwich with a super thin patty. And the lettuce looked a little old. It was a little shocking
Same I’ve lived in sandiego for 5 years and my sister currently works there and loves it, although I lived in Japan for 6 years on and off so that was tough going without it for that long😂
I was born in San Diego! My family lives in AZ and still in Cali. I still never seen a terrible In-N-Out! Even the Texas location was busy, clean, and top tier. I hope they open in Minnesota 😂
Ayyyy fellow San Diegans! I have an In n Out 5 minutes where I work, the first guy to go to lunch in my depwrtment when he wants In n Out I pay for his lunch to bring me some as well. Best investment especially when I'm super slammed
When I was stationed on 32nd street, I used to hit up that one in Chula Vista on the Mile of Cars . My car battery died in the parking lot once, even….thankfully it was a slow night so the tow truck could get in haha
I wasn't hungry when I started watching, at the end I'm hungry, it's 4 AM, and In And Out isn't open! RIP!
I grew up near Eureka, CA and that city finally got an In-N-Out a few years ago. Before that, it was always a staple of road trips since the nearest one was several hours south in Santa Rosa, so we would always eat there on our way to the bay area.
Love northern Cali 🙋🏽🇺🇸🦅💯 love from the bay. Cheers 🍔
Best thing about In-N-Out is the prices. My gf and I (we're both from California, but she lived there longer before moving so she LOVES In-N-Out) go to In-N-Out all the time when we don't wanna cook. We can get 2 Double-Doubles, A cheeseburger, medium pink lemonade, and fries for something like $22-$24 bucks. Sometimes she'll get a shake and it's still under $30. It's actually a lot of food for the price (for fast food). It's actually cheaper than Wendy's, McDonald's, Raising Canes, AND Subway order if you aren't using coupons. They're just great and even when they are busy it's not as bad as waiting in a busy McDonald's line.
I agree with it being NOW cheaper than McDonald’s and Wendy’s etc. this is why every time we get fast food it’s always in n out. Can’t beat their quality and price for what you get.
The fact we are referencing fast food and the priceing is 30 dollars for 2 people is fucking wild...this isnt gourmet food, its supposed to be a belly filler for 5 or 10 bucks...we live in a joke economy
It's a much cheaper than McDonald's in Cailfornia
I agree! I’m in CA also and I go back to in and out because of the low prices!
Not anymore, they had to raise prices on April 1st due to Commifornia and their stupid $20 min wage for fast food places!
I worked there years ago, but to this day it is still my favorite job. What I liked was when I walked in I KNEW what my position was for my shift and I was well trained on it too. I also got lucky and had a store manager who was willing to not only call me out on my youthful angst about certain jobs, but also show me up and shut me up. One time he told me to do something I thought wasn't possible, told him, and in response he did it faster than he was asking me to do it proving that it wasn't excessive I just needed to get better. That was the moment I respected the hell out of him.
I was lucky/unlucky that our district manager lived less than a mile away so he'd often (and randomly) show up at the store. One of his speeches he was telling the newest hires really stuck with me and changed me attitude (at work at least), I won't repeat the whole thing here, but it basically boils down to "a smile is part of your uniform and we pay you more than the managers get paid at the Carl's Jr. across the street. If you can't or won't smile, then leave now and work across the street."
We got In-N-Out In Colorado couple years ago and they have delicious food that actually taste fresh so take a note other fast food
Absolutely love In & Out Burger... Grew up in So Cal, and the original one was just around the corner from my great grandmother's house in Baldwin Park. During my years in middle school & high school, the big treat for everyone was when the In & Out truck would be on campus for special occasions. Everyone, both staff & students alike would line up to get their hands on some burgers, fries & a shake. In & Out made a truckload of cash those days & this video brings back some very fond memories.
One major factor you missed: the price. $3 for a burger compared to $10 for a burger at Five Guys.
Yeah, Five Guys is now so expensive that my credit card gave me a 5% cash back deal to eat there and it still wasn't worth it.
I’d rather spend the $10 on a good burger
@@jrm0206Buddy, let’s not pretend Five Guys is good. It’s overpriced mediocre food.
Whether it’s a good burger or not, that’s a matter of ones opinion, however, I will agree that it is a little pricier than others
I love In-n-Out, but I was excited to try Five Guys….
Major disappointment! I thought bad day. Tried a different one. Same high prices and mediocre quality.
Holy shit are you telling me that if you treat your employees like actual humans and offer livable wages and good benefits that they will be much happier and the customers will also leave happier? Nahhhh, that's impossible
You forgot to say the government didn't have to pass a law to force them to pay a decent wage
I had a supervisor at my old dispensary job 6 years ago. While working at the dispensary, he also worked as a manager at In-n-Out... for 10 years. He worked 60 - 70 hrs a week between both jobs until the dispensary offered him management role, and then he finally quit In-N-Out after 12 years. He said they were really good to him and threw him a party when he quit.
As a current employee/subscriber, been waiting for this video!! Love all the points you brought up, and completely agree with it being a great place to work!
We will never see one in Rhode Island 😅😅😅
They opened up our first Raising Cane’s a few weeks ago and the traffic was WILD!!
It’s crap. You’re not missing anything.
Yeah I remember when they opened up Canes in Ohio it was crazy. That was in maybe 2014? 4 years later their quality, at least near me went downhill.
And there will probably never be a Tim Hortons location in California.
HA HA You live in smol state.
@@davidberchtold3859 I doubt that! I fully suspect SOMEONE to open a Little Canada strip mall soon enough with Timmy's, Harvey's, Swiss Chalet, Second Cup. After all LA is apparently Canada's 3rd largest city when you count the ex-pat community...
I currently work at In-and-Out and have worked at many Fast Food and Sit Down Places in the past and while I still don't like this line of work, I can guarantee that In-And-Out is the cleanest place you will ever eat at. Our rules are so strict you would think its Nazi Germany. But the pay is great so I can't complain.
Well it was founded by German-Canadian's from Vancouver... I checked... ;-)
makes sense lol@@stickynorth
Agree on keeping the place clean. The one I ate at today, a guy was cleaning up outside the building, even in the grass. Later inside. No rubbish to be seen anywhere.
cool
I love how clean In-N-Out is. I hate when I go to other places and they have tables that look like they haven't been tended to in a long time. I love when restaurants take pride in cleanliness and making great food.
former in n out employee- the quality is real. again, like Company Man said, i’m not trying to sound like a commercial but it’s true that every morning every single store has ingredients shipped by truck form the warehouse, and the morning shift employees have to handwash and handcut all tomatoes and lettuce and potatoes etc. it really is as fresh as any fast food gets and even more than most restaurants!
There’s an in n out by the airport we always stop by and my dad was returning from my grandma’s funeral. We stopped there to pick him up. Just in the parking lot. Didn’t even buy burgers. Our car stalled and I went into the in n out for help. 5 employees came out and pushed our car to have it jump started for us. We had a big ass mini van too. I’ll never forget their kindness and empathy. Long live in n out. Five guys deserves the grave
Up until I was 17 years old, I never liked hamburgers. When my family was visiting Las Vegas, my dad had us go to In-N-Out. I was put off because they only serve burgers. Got one and it completely changed my view of hamburgers. Now I love hamburgers but I will always attribute them to why I enjoy eating one now.
What was wrong with you :)
@@urukadooedwards7637 My friend asked me the same thing when I told the story. I just always got chicken whenever we went anywhere up to that point.
I live in Florida but I was in Austin last month and I had In-N-Out for the first time. It was 3pm on a Sunday, the place was packed, and the drive thru was wrapped around the building twice. It was by far the best fast food meal I've ever had. I would be THRILLED if they opened one near me. It is just that good.
I’m from West coast but now in FL, it’s gonna be a long time before they come here. Desantis tried to entice them to expand here during COVID but it didn’t happen so it seem like a pipe dream for at least the next decade
Five Guys is better.
@@SIoyvenheaven1T800m101That may be true. I can't say, having never had a Five Guys burger. But I can say that a Five Guys basic hamburger at $10-12 is a bit out of reason. I don't care how much crap you can load on it. In-N-Out is definitely a better value at less than half the price.
@@kevincleek8389 It is true and you need to go to Five Guys ASAP.
They built a location almost an hour drive from me, and their drive-thru is still fairly busy. I went there in 2021 and went in to order, and I waited about 40 minutes for my food.
I remember going on roadtrips with my family and being SUPER excited to stop at the in n out in Redding (which was the northernmost one for a while). I’ve since moved to LA, but I still go to in n out pretty regularly
Culvers and In-N-Out are THE two fast food chains that you can tell the employees enjoy being there AND every location always has at least a dozen employees on staff during business hours. I have never been to either where they are suffering a "short staffed" shift which is usually the biggest reason for slow service at the other major chains.
Having a dozen employees on staff is only a good thing if those 12 people all have something to do and are actually doing it.
There's a Wingstop near my apartment that has 12 people getting paid to stand around and do nothing but gab amongst themselves and ignore the customers. The order takes forever and it's never sauced right. The manager needs to be fired, like, yesterday.
In regards to Culvers I have to say that the service was excellent. But I wasn't thrilled about the quality of the food. Except for the shakes. They are TOP NOTCH!
your comment got stolen by a bot :(
I could care less whether the employees enjoy working there so long as the food is good and I’m treated with respect.
@SimuLord never seen an in n out employee doing nothing lol... they are always busy doing something. Cleaning, prepping, taking orders, etc. That's why their place is so clean and organized.
Great video. As an In-N-Out enthusiast, you made every point that I’ve made in defending the greatness of In-N-Out. Whether you’re in a store in LA or Dallas it’s consistent, great quality and simple. No need for gimmicks.
So it's a Communist company
Consistency is one of the main selling points of every fast food restaurant. If they're not consistent they're failing at their mission.
@luke5100Expectations isn’t the problem, it’s the lack of taste and awful fries. The value, freshness, and quality are excellent, but taste is what matters most when it comes to food.
I’m a Southern California boy born in 1949. In-N-Out has always been my favorite place to get a quality burger and fries. I live in Arkansas now and my closest In-N-Out is in Texas. There’s a number of us that have talked aboutchartering a bus just to go, get a double double. I’ll be 75 this July and I hope I can get in and out again soon. By the way, the first place I stopped when I go to California for a visit which is very seldom is In-N-Out Burger.
Its not overrated, its consistent and has good value. You always know what you’re getting and how its going to be. Also its not going to cost a ton
The Virgin Five Guys: “wE nEeD to MaKe oUr bUrgErs CoSt $30 cUz wAgEssss”
The Chad In n Out: “We pay our employees between $20-$24 hourly and a burger and fries are still $5”
Bingo! A stark difference in values... Both offer good products but the price point leaves something to be desired at 5G...
Five Guys was expensive before wages went up here in AZ. My meal was always $15, which was insane before it became common.
They raised prices 4% on April 1st in California.
@@swoleavocado A quarter per double-double or cheeseburger. Still less expensive than just about everyone else.
@swoleavocado their price raises are miniscule conpared to that of mcdonalds and 5 guys
In N Out catered my wedding. To say I’m a fan is an understatement. But the quality is always constantly the best. They are easily the best fast food burger and so cheap.
You were smart to save money and do this. I never had them because I'm not near one.
When I was in LA CA in 1995, I didn't know about them.

Great burgers, fries and shakes!
My first time ever eating there was just this last October in Reno, NV. And it lived up to the hype. Customer service, cleanliness, speedy service, food quality, all were on point.
Hope they come to the DC area one day.
In N Out is very popular in the southwest region! Here in Texas, their lines are very fast, that even they offer takeouts for community colleges, and even some high schools are having their burgers during lunch after the standardized testing!

the idaho in-n-out has gotten so much flack because everyone thinks they’re “overrated” but it’s been months and it still takes at least half an hour to get through the drive thru. people love to pretend they hate popular things
McDonald's and every other crappy things are packed with people all over the world despite multiple locations in the same areas, doesn't really mean anything.
Idaho should be thankful for the increased 🥔 potatoe sales...
Same's true of Starbucks coffee here in Seattle. Everybody says "nobody who's actually from here drinks that swill" but they have to post traffic cops near the one on Elliott Avenue close to where I work or they'll stop traffic with cars practically parked in the lane of travel on the street in line.
@heroe1486 mcdonalds has closed many stores over the years due to low sales, in n out has not
@heroe1486 i have never seen a mcdonalds with 20+ cars in a drive thru though :/
My wife and I will celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary June 5th. Our first apartment was near the first IN-N-OUT in Baldwin Park. My wife belongs to a book club and just gave her book report on the history of IN-N-OUT. Everybody loved all the things they never knew about the worlds greatest burger.
We are both pushing 80 years old and trying to live long enough to see an IN-N-OUT in our town.
Theres a great spot available next to the freeway and Walmart.
Please come to Cedar City, Utah.😊
Small world. I spent the first part of my childhood in the Baldwin Park area. I wish I remember the address, but it was this shabby little trailer park next to a car wash over on Grand. I remember the Albertsons being a few blocks north. I’m pretty sure it was within walking distance. The In N OUt was just a few blocks up the road. One of the few memories from childhood that is positive. Here I am at 31. I live in the Northwest on the water. I own properties. Have my own company i started from the ground up that is worth a small fortune. And I did it with literally nothing but hard work and the want for better. But In N Out still holds a special place to me. Because when I was a kid not only was it a good burger. but it was the great equalizer. My family could barely afford the necessities and I remember times we simply just went without here and there. But In N Out was something everyone could afford. Didn’t matter if they were a millionaire. Or a little family who literally had nothing who this might be their only treat for a very long time. Everyone could do it and more than even the quality I think that is why people like me defend it so much. My wife is from just across the boarder in Canada and her family moved there from Japan when she was 14. So she had never experienced it. I took her with me when I flew to LA for something with my work. And the first place we went was to the In N Out right there behind the airport runways. She said when I got my food she got it finally I guess I lit up like a big kid because it brought so many good memories back. I could just be happy and not stressed about life and work and all that madness for a little bit. And on our way out I saw a guy asking people for a couple bucks so he could just get a burger. I stopped and asked him did he really just want the burger and he said yeah. So against my wife’s better judgement we went in with him and I told the girl behind the counter get him what ever she wanted. She looked at me like I was nuts and I just told her the day I see someone who can’t even have something as simple as a good meal at a good price that’s the day I want off this planet. He was grateful for it. And it cost so little that it was not even a drop in the bucket to me. But to him that will be a happy memory he can have with In N Out like I have. We got to our hotel and she just gave me a big hug and looks at me and goes “I get it now. Its not just the food for you. It is the reminder to always value things for more than just money sake.” I’m glad she got it. My kids will never go without. They’ll never have to see what I did as a kid. But I want to make sure they always understand the little things in life like this. Sorry not even sure why I’m writing all this. Your comment just sort of brought back memories in a really positive way. Congrats on 60 years sir. That is a wonderful thing to hear in this crazy messed up world and should truly be respected and celebrated. I too hope you get one in your town soon. They are opening one in Ridgefield, WA which is only a couple of hours from me or a 30 minute flight to Portland and a trip across the river. I’m excited for it. Keep going strong
This video dropped a few days before the first In-N-Out opened in my town! Super long line but handled really well, and worth the wait
As a kid I never knew how insanely fortunate I was to live by an In-N-Out literally down the street from house
"insanely fortunate"
Breh you lucky
@@vooteimer1234lucky for me 😭 I know not everyone feels the same about In-N-Out, just a matter of perspective
Living a short walk from a good place to eat, especially if Mom is a godawful cook (and my mom was a _terrible_ cook!) is the best thing a kid can ask for.
When I go back home to Boston to visit family and old friends, I always make sure to stop at Billy's Famous Roast Beef in Wakefield, the place that saved me every time Mom tried to make Irish boiled dinner (which is vile even if a Michelin-star chef cooks it.)
now they’re building one in nashville im only half a day’s drive from an in and out instead of a day’s drive
In-N-Out expanding to the East coast is gonna change our lives forever
as a californian part of me was salty that in n out won’t just be a west coast thing soon, but i’ve decided the mature thing is to be happy for y’all
@@andrewblair370 Don't worry, I will never eat there. It has been so hyped for over 20 years that I will never eat there because I know it could not possibly live up to the hype. So instead of ruining the hype I'll just completely avoid it and let that false hype live in my mind.
For real, I had in-n-out regularly when I lived in California. Now, I rarely have burgers because the closest equivalent is Five Guys which, though the quality/quantity can be much higher, you pay a LOT more for an experience that can sometimes be subpar. Never once had a bad experience at in-n-out.
No it won’t. We have superior options already.
@@andrewblair370Five Guys is better.
I have a close friend who lives in France. One visit to LA he told me he wants to try “real American food.” He’d eaten at McDonalds and Burger King - which have locations in Europe, but he’d never had an In-N-Out burger. And he went totally crazy over the Double Double, fries and shake and couldn’t get enough. He keeps hoping that they’ll open even just a pop-up store in Paris someday. But he has to come to the States for now to get his fix. The French really know a few things about food.
Of course I love In-N-Out too. They’re a Southern California tradition.
Maybe the next year or so, you should check out CVT Soft Serve which is expanding rapidly across the country with CVT2Go pouches that lots of supermarkets are carrying. It’s soft-serve ice cream in a pod or pouch that you just take out of your freezer and eat. CVT is also based in LA and they’re following the model set by In-N-Out. You might like it. 🙂
I am from the east coast Pennsylvania to be exact, been to the west coast many many many times and been to In & Out burger's many times and have never been disappointed and so wish we had them here in Pennsylvania love them totally !
I moved away from Cali years ago and finally have in n out coming to my area in the next year. Not complaining. People can call it overrated and sure, there is some truth to that, but for me its mostly nostalgia. Nostalgia aside, their patties are never frozen, their fries/potatoes are chopped in the drive thru window. Its a fresh burger/meal, the price is reasonable, the quality is consistent across all locations. They deserve props, because most other fast food places fail in at least one of those.
That "potatoes chopped where you can see them" is exactly why the fries are terrible. You can't double fry made-to-order. You need to keep the par-cooked "first fry" fries refrigerated or frozen and then do the second fry when the customer orders them. McDonald's does this in bulk (the first fry is done at the factory before the fries are shipped to franchises in big frozen bags), so do just about all of the McImitators from other fast food chains to the mom-n-pop places in my native Boston suburbs.
@@SimuLord their fries are one of my favorite things about them lol. I get two orders of fries when I go. They're generally crispier for me than mcdonalds fries which are often cold, mushy, and bland. You could try adding salt to the in n out fries.. they generally include extra salt packets.
Cali? Something tells me you never lived out here. Notice all the other posts say SoCal, NorCal, San Diego, California.
No one uses that term unless they are trying to be “dope”.
My first job was at In N Out and I was with them for nearly ten years. It’s a great company to be a part of and I have nothing but good things to say about my time with them.
Living in western PA, many chains feel almost mythic: In-N-Out, White Castle, and especially In-N-Out. For the few people I have heard of going to In-N-Out... nothing but good things. Makes me want to know why it's so great.
I’ve lived on the East Coast (Atlanta) my whole life, but I’ve had In-N-Out probably ten times before… With the exception of Chic-Fil-A, all other fast food restaurants are shameful compared to In-N-Out. It’s so delicious, I would kill for one here in Georgia.
Nice try East Coast
Company Man is easily my favorite channel and the most informative.
As a potential employee of In-N-Out, I can testify to the amazing work culture here. Very clean work environment, senior staff are always ready to guide new hires and of course, the free meal is always a bonus. 10/10 working experience.
I moved to Washington state a number of years ago, and just a few years ago they opened their furthest north In n Out in Kaiser Oregon. Whenever I find myself anywhere near it, I visit.
I lived in California for 16 years and loved em.
Now I live in Tennessee and they're opening their first store in Franklin near Nashville.
They have the most interesting fries, a texture you don't see elsewhere. You can get em well cooked and they're nice and crispy.
Franklin’s nice I miss it, is it gonna be in the downtown area on main?
@@juliuscaesart My guess is no. The first is going to be by their corporate office (idk if also a paddy processing plant) but it'll probably be on the border between commercial and industrial districts.
"They have the most interesting fries, a texture you don't see elsewhere." That's what you get when you use potatoes that are peeled and cut just before they fry them up for your order. Other places use pre-cut frozen potatoes that have been processed and had who knows what else added to them to make them "perfect" and "uniform".
@@Calipeixegato now if only they would stop cooking them like a frozen fry and cooking it like you would fresh fries they would really be on to something.
Do the fries have a fluffy interior? If it's just crisp, forget it.
Currently watching this on my break at In n out
OMG!! Thank you In & Out! My favorite…I actually ask for gift cards to this heavenly place for Xmas and my Birthday!! I do regulate by visits to one a week and that’s hard to do!!
Being born and raised in Southern Cali, I got to experience INNOUT as a child. I moved to Denver, CO in 2010 and was pleased that we got an INNOUT here in 2020.
I waited for two weeks after the Aurora, CO location opened, and waited in like 2.5 hours. I love gettting a 2x4, whole grilled onion, no lettuce no tomato
Company Man is the In-N-Out of UA-camrs
Great reputation, does one thing and does it really well, consistent, high-quality, reliable. GOAT
meanwhile in Brookings, SD, they're getting a new Wendy's after the Hardee's closed. Exciting stuff.
Better than demolishing an existing Hardee's to build a Carl's Junior from the ground up..... /s
Where I live we'd be excited to even have a Hardee's 😂
😂😂😂
Hardee's is a little overrated but I heard their fries are good.
Sorry for the Hardee’s loss but congrats on the new Wendy’s 🎉
Makes me wonder why an "Expanding Near You?" has yet to be made on Sprouts. I would like to see a video on how Sprouts has expanded geographically.
Both my kids work/worked at Sprouts.
The college scholarship is the icing on the cake!!
I feel like Sprouts is overpriced. Anyways the location in my Bay Area/NorCal is 😢
We love our Arizona Sprouts!
It grew on me. I first moved to California 14 years ago. I went immediately, didn’t care for it.
Now, it’s my favorite spot. Consistently a great burger for a good price. Fries are still just okay.
Their strawberry shake is absolutely wonderful!
You should ask for their neopolitan shake next time you go 🙂.
I was born and raised in SoCal. Moved to Atlanta almost 10 years ago. In-N-Out is the one thing I miss and crave the most. The other burger chains out here don't even come close. The consistency and attitude of the workers is the best!
In-N-Out is the GOLD standard for fast food burgers. Amazing food, excellent service, and very reasonable pricing. As a bonus, the staff are treated and paid well.
Florida is one of the hugest markets that they are missing. They should open a distribution center outside of Orlando.
i remember in the third grade they had this thing where our class got to take a field trip to the local in n out and tour the inside of the building. this was in the morning so they haven't opened yet. we got to see the potato peeler and the stacks of buns on the shelf that has to be sold that day and the massive fridge. there was also the potato slicer thing which we all got to slice one potato!! at the end we all got in n out and went back to school and the rest of the school looked at us in envy lol
California here. They are expanding near me.... down the street from my house. The connection to your channel... this will be the old K-Mart parking lot.
As a native socaler I grew up on this burger. Nothing beats one of those tiny In-N-Outs that is just a shack with 2 drive thru lanes. Those kids working there are champions
If it's not possible to eat in ... I'm not stopping at those locations.
Grew up walking dostance from an In N Out and Tommys. While I love In N Out, Tommys is just my jam. Since I moved out of state, I'm glad they opened an In N Out near my house. I just need a Tommys, now.
Tommy’s is just bland. The chili is disappointing. It has a lot of oil but no flavor.
Pico Rivera by chance? Tommy's is always the "Well lN N Out is around the block and I need to eat now" choice.
@@777RLI agree don’t like Tommy’s I’d rather go to a fosters freeze for their burgers and chili cheese fries!
@@BNGamesYT Norwalk also has an in n out and a Tommy's in walking distance. Heck there are 2 in n outs with in walking distance from that Tommy's.
a double double with chili cheese fries goes so well
U can never go wrong enjoying some In-n-out in the sun while watching planes land just outside the fence at LAX runway 24R. Great variety of aircraft types too
I have always liked In-N-Out and several years ago we finally got one in my town in So. Cal., so I don't have to drive many miles to get one of their burgers. However, I do not eat fast food often, so I do not frequent them. I do love that they are a well ran family business.
I love In-N-Out, but the only thing that keeps me from regularly eating there is the wait times. There are some drive-thrus that can take 20-30 mins to get through. The one closest to me has fortunately kept their pace pretty consistent to 10 mins, but it's also a 20 min drive away. I typically will only go if I'm in the area already or craving specifically their food. Due to the infrequent visits, I'll get both an animal style burger, but also get their animal style fries.
Best way to get the fries😋
I usually go only late at night on weekdays. That's their least busy times
I always dine in, it’s way faster than drive through
How about you get out of your car and go into the place in person when you get there? Has that thought ever crossed your mind before? The wait times are much shorter inside usually.
@@thespaldo i've done both and the wait times aren't that different
In 2016 they opened a London pop-up for ONE DAY & the queue was so long people spent over five hours waiting.
I used to live near one and I went all the time, still stop there whenever I'm on a road trip and see one. Unless I already went today.
3x3 (3 patties 3 cheese) with grilled onions and chopped chilies, fries animal style, and either a coke or a chocolate shake. Beverage varies but the rest of the order stays the same.
Having grown up in Southern California I am very familiar with in and out. One of the number one things is every time you get a double double and fries it is exactly the same way every single time- Delicious. No matter which In-N-Out you go to? It is exactly the same. In and out maintains their staff by offering, better pay and better benefits, and therefore cutting their training, budget way down not having to hire new people and training them over and over again, this save tons of money.
I lived in California since 2008.
In-N-Out is really that good. I live close to the only In-N-Out that ever closed in Oakland. It was a short drive for me, and was practically attached to the Oakland Airport.
They opened that area to introduce In-N-Out as fast as possible to people coming to California.
Unfortunately, crime around that area has been going rampant, and In-N-Out didn’t want to risk their restaurant being broken into.
Luckily, I live close to another one.
It is always an a fun experience there, whether you sit down or go to the drive thru. They’re always nice, attentive to your order, and just overall polite.
Their prices have also remained very fair in years of inflation.
I would love to see In-N-Out expanding as much as they feel comfortable with. Maybe one day the East Coast will get it too!
The food is delicious. The menu is simple.
Plus, I love the retro California vibe the company has.
So excited we might get one in Clark County in Washington State.
We’re going to get one before Portland or Seattle!
I live in Canada. Every time I get off an airplane with an In-N-Out location nearby, it's my first stop. Looking forward to my California trip.
I grew up in Southern California, and they were king, now I am in N Texas and they are here 😊 every thing that was said in your review was spot on an well done! 👍🏻
The consistency is what is key as well... Every In-N-Out chain I have been to has always been consistent with their burgers. But if you go to a McDonald's in one city and travel 5 minutes down the road to another, it's always different and sometimes garbage.
I live in the Eastern San Francisco Bay Area and our In-N-Out always has its drive thru full
Same here in Utah. I like the place but it's definitely not good enough to sit in some of those lines.
I'm 81 yrs old, In 1960, Foothill Blvd Pasadena, my first experience with INO, live in Sacramento now, local in-n-out is about 6 blocks from my home, I still eat there. Just like that Foothill Blvd in-n-out, there is always a line here of hungry customers - Must be some reason for that! Keep on cooking Lindsy, I'm still one of your customers.
What I appreciate about In-N-Out is that you can tell they put a lot of stock into training their employees because they're always so great. I'm 32 and have been going there my entire life and am not exaggerating when I say that an In N Out has only ever messed up my order ONE TIME.
In September to October 2008, I had In N Out 45 consecutive days. The order was a 4x2, Animal Style fries, and an extra large Dr. Pepper, $9.95. I knew I was moving from Burbank at the end of October so I made the most of living 4 blocks away from an In N Out.
Bruh
@@scose Yes. Bruh.
In N Out burger will always be my favorite fast food restaurant!. Love their fries
That's interesting. I've always heard their fries are not good
@MBarberfan4life they are pretty good by themselves but with their sauce and animal style, they are exquisite 🤌
I had my first and only experience when I went to Las Vegas. The burger, service and the aesthetics of the restaurant was impressive.
There is nothing like going Animal on all aspects of the menu. My son in Houston told me when he got to the new one there when it arrived had stumped the window when he ordered Animal Fries. The Supervisor had to take the order. Which means that opening new stores that means their supers are from other locations. Good Ops for the employees. Go In and Out! Life is good when you have one close.
4:06 Damn, In-N-Out has had long lines since day one 🤣
The Quality, The Friendliness, and Cleanliness
Another thing about why people seem happier working there, they have great old fashion uniforms, you can’t take pride working at another fast food restaurant with their thin see through cheap polos. However you can take pride being and in and out worker with such a fresh uniform and presentation and demeanor. Like a fancy bellhop, just extravagant
Being from Arizona, I've been eating In N Out my whole life. They are the king of the fast food burger, no doubt! Also I love their fries.
In-N-Out experimented with a pop-up location in Hong Kong and it was insanely popular. They could be looking internationally as well.
I bet that was prior to 2019
@@jr2904no after, burgers came with free covid
@@jr2904 No, it was 2023.
That's cool as hell!!
There have been fake In-N-Outs found in China.
It already has in Denver. It's alright. The affordability is good, but the long wait isn't really worth it and the burgers aren't groundbreaking imho
Ppl not frozen and it's obvious. Do a taste test comparison side by side
You might think their burgers are nothing special and you are correct, they are not some world changing burger. But when you consider one of their burgers compared to any other fast food chain burger, McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, etc... there is no conparison in freshness, visually they are far superior to the slop smashed thrown together things served by the other chains. In N Out wins by far.
In n out isn't gourmet style restaurant or pub style burgers. It's fast food. The quality, freshness, extremely friendly service and doing so consistently at all locations can't be beat. Their actual burger looks just like what you see in their commercials.
I travel to Nashville to visit family every year, excited to hear a location is opening up!
The IN-N-OUT livery on that semi has got to be one of the coolest I've ever seen.
Shake Shack recently came to my city. Was initially very good, but has gone a little downhill since then. I would LOVE if an In-N-Out came to my area, since they have that good reputation, but I know it'll probably be a while until they come out to Pennsylvania.
i went when i was in NYC before they came to my city… they were okay but i wasn’t that impressed
As someone who went to LA for vacation in June of 2018, I felt like In-N-Out was overrated af..
it is, they are just consistent at what they do.
There are a ton of gourmet burgers I'd rather have once a month than In N Out.
Yep it really is. If the fries are only good when they're fresh thats sad. When they're not it's bland and have no flavor.
@@runrafarunthebestintheworld I can say the milkshake was good
In comparison to what? The price you pay to what you get is pretty undervalued and unique.
I don't understand how anyone who likes cheeseburgers or hamburgers can say "over rated"
One soon to be open and first ever in state of Washington in my neighborhood of Ridgedield!!! Cant wait!
Whenever I'm down in Irvine visiting my uncle Max I would always make a point of going to the In-N-Out on Campus Drive near UCI! One of my main reasons for travelling down South to SoCal! Even though In-N-Out does truck up to Langley, BC once a year for the Show-N-Shine car show. And had rumours of wanting to start a location at UBC to entice American students, etc.
Sadly, it will probably be quite some time before we see one in Michigan. We're still waiting for Chick-fil-a to build out here.
Chick fil-a is already on the west side of the state and has been for a while. A patty making facility for in n out in or around Chicago might be enough to get them to Michigan
Yeah you guys need Chic Fil A. I’m in Ohio so I feel your loss. I wanna try in n out. There aren’t too many nicer quality fast food places.
well if they’re opening one in nashville… lets hope for a food facility in cincinnati or indianapolis. both close enough to Nashville but will get you into michigan
There’s chikfila in Michigan already, there’s one in okemos, the drive thru line in always insane tho hahaha
I tried them when I went to In-N-Out in phoenix and honestly, it is 100% comparable to steak 'n Shake and it's really mid at best. I don't understand the hype at all.
Totally fair and understandable... Can I ask who you would consider to be better than them?. Or who's on your best list?!!!
I've seen it where McDonalds and In-N-Out went _head-to-head_ competing for road travelers . . . it's in Kettleman City, California, along the Interstate 5 freeway.
At that location, it is around 100 footsteps separating the In-N-Out location to the McDonalds, on the same side of the road. So, it is an easy walk between the two.
The contrast with patronage between the two:
On average, I've seen the customers standing in-line at In-N-Out run nearly 80 people deep; indoor and outdoor seating packed.
At the same time at McDonalds, less then 10 in-line, with about 20 customers seated in the entire place.
I've been going to In-N-Out my whole life. My parents took me to In-N-Out when I was a kid in the early '90s and I still go to it today and I'm in my mid-thirties. Probably one of my favorite places to eat that's cheap enough compared to the rest of the competition
McDonald’s is forsaking their “value customers.” In N Out is cheap and a great value - half the price of Chipotle or Five Guys.
