    Fun fact: Not only does In N Out not use frozen beef, they actually own their own cattle ranches. The rule is that the restaurants cannot be more than 1 day's drive from their ranch in a refrigerated truck. This is one reason they are very slow to expand out from the western states. On top of that, they are family-owned and do not license franchises.

      Strong family loyalty towards one another is also a key to their success and they pass on that same mindset to the store employees. If you look into their history, each Snyder family member from each generation after the next tries to do their best to honor a previous member’s wishes and legacy.

      The best thing about their ingredients is that they're genuinely fresh. They cut the raw potatoes in the back to make the fries right in the shop, they cut all the veggies right there in the store too, and the patties are never frozen. I once talked to a manager at in-n-out years ago, when they were just starting to expand into texas, and I asked why they weren't expanding further. It's because they source all of their ingredients from specific growers/farmers, and because everything needs to be fresh and never frozen, they had to build up their processing and logistics to be able to give the expected quality half way across the country

      Exactly- That’s the thing about In-N-Out. The menu is nothing groundbreaking, even the secret menu stuff is just the same food/ingredients used in creative ways. The food is, dare I say, generic
      But the thing that makes In-N-out special is just how well-executed that generic food is. How fresh the ingredients are. How it comes together. The chain has an Alton Brown-like laser focus on the freshness of each simple ingredient
      It’s like someone took a top of the line 1950s fast food burger joint and transplanted it to today
      They don’t try to reinvent the wheel, they just keep pumping out the same wheels you’ve seen a million times before. But they’re as well-engineered and designed as wheels get

      Go to R&B drive-in in Hutchinson, Kansas and order a beltbuster with cheese add bacon and tell me In-N-Out is better. I went there to visit my aunt who was having health problems (I live in Los Angeles) and she had me pick her up some burgers and fries from there and I figured I'd try it and let's just say... I was completely blown away at how good it was, for a small city in Kansas it was insane.
      I've had In-N-Out well over 500 times in my life and this quant drive-in built in like 1960 was so much better that I would consider moving there if I didn't have a good job and family/friends where I live. I mean, it was seriously that good and I'm not exaggerating.
      It was kind of greasy but you could tell the ingredients were quality and the cheese was melty, the burger patties are similar to smashburger's, and they were well put-together.

    Excellent video and review. I live in L.A. not far from Baldwin Park where In-N-Out (still a family owned company) started back in 1948. It's the best classic burger around. That's why cars line up down the street to enter their drive-thru, and many In-N-Out locations have two drive-thru lanes. A true California success story. And it made quite a splash in London when they did pop-up restaurants there in 2016 and 2018.

    In & Out makes the best fast food chain burger. I like how the salty fatness of the meat contrasts with the cool crunch of the salad .Their food is fresh because all their locations are within a days drive of their distribution centers. That is why almost all their locations are in the western US. In & Out is also very good to their employees, associates make almost twice what burger king and McD's worker make.The location managers also make 2 1/2 to 3 times what the other chains pay and they stay on the job anaverage of 15 years vs 3 years for the other chains. In & Out is the only fast food burger chain that Eric Shlosser author of FAST FOOD NATION will eat at.

I'd love to see him at more places away from the tourist zones. So far in this series besides In and Out I thought the Brooklyn deli and the Mexican restaurant were the most reasonable. Every other burger chain is corporate and they cut away that freshness by using frozen ingredients to increase their revenue

  • @heyjim52

    Finally Danny tries the In n Out burger , it's the best fast food burger in the west. It's a corporate operation but I think it is still being ran by the family that started it and they limit how many restaurants they will open so they don't get to spread out and ultimately lose the quality service and food. Growing up in the 60's and 70's I lived in the city where they opened their first restaurant , a drive thru back then if you got in line it would remind you of the movie American graffiti , 50's style cars and roadsters guys with the girl friends and others just hanging out right down the street from my high school it was great.

    • @garystreile9143
      @garystreile9143 Рік тому +2

      Yes, they are still being run by a family. And one of the reasons why they only exist in Ca (and a few nearby places) is that all employees who are going to be managers need to go and take classes at "In n Out University", which is a building in southern CA where they are taught exactly how to maintain the consistent high quality of all the outlets in the chain.

    • @josephharper3714
      @josephharper3714 Рік тому +1

      Actually it is not a corporate operation. The company is still fully owned (private) by the family and is currently under the direction of the grand daughter of the family. Many attempts have been made to buy them or to get them to offer franchising but they have not done that. It was the founder's wish that the company stays in the family. Of course, he couldn't have imagined the wild success that it has become. Best burger on the planet in my opinion.
