- We finally have some progress for you on the Mk1 Transit V8 conversion. We took a trip over to the fabricators to check up on all the progress of late and to remove the engine from the custom made subframe which is now bolted into the engine bay. We got the engine back to the workshop and turned it over for the first time, now to start getting it stripped apart for the rebuild.
Yeah, can't wait to see the result

Thanks mate 🤣 we’ve only really started pushing thing properly since just before Christmas so this year we’re hoping to gain some traction with the Channel but honestly that means a lot and nice to see people noticing us 😎

I don’t think they are going to be showing process as it looks as though they farm-out most of the technical bits.
For the fabrication part of it we have another guy sorting it for us but the engine rebuild / repaint / air install / rebuild of the van in general will all be done in house 😎
Check out the mk1 supervan replica by Central panel company to see how they have overcome the steering problem it might be of use for your build

Is your van already English registered I'm doing a similar thing though diesel and cut bulkhead worried I can't get it registered
Yes our Mk1 was already on the road in the UK before we started the resto
@@maddercustom I shouldn't tell you this because I would be dead jealous if you made one!! A walker rear body, what's a walker rear body? It's body made by walkers in the 60s,70s & 80s for mk1 & mk2 transits very rare only see one in the flesh when I was a kid, I'd love to build a single wheel pick up with a walker body, i have a few pictures and I could make one from those pictures but I've got lots of other projects going,
You might be able to find my pictures on Internet if Google transit walker body, regards Adam
It sort of defeats the original purpose of the Transit (which made it unique amongst vans at the time) - the driver didn't share the cab with the engine.
