I repair speed queen commercial equipment and have worked on these older machines very durable and seem to have a long service life

If they still sell to the consumer market, why aren't they available at any of the major retail outlets? Sears, Lowes, Best Buy - can't be found there...

those were great machines. They only had one flaw. because they were solid tub machines the fill was timed. If you didn't have good water pressure they didn't fill with enough water. A friend of mine had one and she was always having the agitator shaft replaced.,

That answers something I have always wondered about those washers. My grandmother used to have one of those washers, and I noticed that the tub frequently overfilled and water would overflow into the outer tub. I wondered why those washers didn't seem to have a good fill control like other washers. But why would this filling problem cause an agitator shaft having to be frequently replaced?

No, I'll tell which agitator tears your clothes up. The high speed agitation of the dual action auger style agitator of the 80s and 90s Kenmores and Whirlpools. That's why they've garnered the nick name Shredpool and Shredmore

Oh what nonsense. You need to load the clothes properly and it will least likely to do that.

Hi this is Michael I was just wondering that if one of you guys make a video of a Old Bolt-down Kenmore washer on the whole entire cycle?

  • @BroccoliBeefed

Ok, after doing some research, now I understand what you mean. But isn't that sad, that what used to be standard is now considered specialty. Quality used to be reasonably priced. These washers cost upwards of $900 for a standard top load washer. They're made with much better quality, the way they all used to be made..

That is mean, cause there is nothing special about this machine. It's old school crude technology that works- what most of us in the USA are used to
