    I’m really glad to see how awesome the new JLU turned out. Very well thought out parts wise. This is what years of overlanding will teach you, what works and what doesn’t. Keep up the great videos and maybe one day I’ll spot you guys on the trail somewhere.

    Very nice Jeep build! Love both Jeeps and the dependability of each. It's good that the entire family can enjoy spending all that time together, something you dont see often nowadays. It was surprising to see the video of when y'all came to Padre Island, I'm from here. Yes its beautiful and worth the drive. Stay safe and happy travels! God bless

      If you're going to do this much modification I HIGHLY recommend not getting a rubicon. Just get a sport or willys. It'll cost you 20-25k less and you can build it to this level and capability for 8-15k in mods depending on which labor you do yourself. If you're gonna put a 2-2.5" lift and 35's and change nothing else, get a rubicon. -20 year jeep/offroad veteran

    Hi, I love the videos!! I will be out there soon. My son is a Senior in High School (online) and I can't get him to go with me now. Why? His friends. I get it. So I am trying to figure out how the tent is supported on top of the Jeep? So, you sleep on top of the Jeep? How does the support system work? It looks like you would fall right through the bottom of the tent. Thanks!!

    • @EFRT
      @EFRT  3 роки тому

      Hi there. The tent bolts firmly to the roof rack on the jeep. There is a ladder that comes down to support the tent while you were sleeping in it. It is very solid and secure and folds up nicely for traveling.
      Hopefully you can talk to your son in to getting out with you and adventuring. Have a wonderful day and thanks for watching our videos. 👍🏻

    Fantastic setup! Are those jerry cans on the roof the Front Runner ones with the tap? It was a little hard to make out. If so, how are they holding up? I’m looking at getting them with the brass tap replacement and just wondering about durability and leakage.

    I didn’t catch if the rooftop tents ceiling panel unzipped? I would be great if it did. Would be great to be able to standup and stretch my legs. If it does I might consider this tent over the pricey Ursa Minor. Thanks 🙏🏻

    • @EFRT
      @EFRT  4 роки тому +1

      To stand up you’d have to take the rain fly off. Rooftop tent are wonderful but with the Ursa Minor you get more of a camper type set up. There are pros and cons to each I guess. It really depends on how you plan on using it and where you plan on going.

      Epic Family Road Trip I’ve done week trips around New England in the back of my cover truckbed with my 80lb Malinois 🐕 and have found the worst thing is having to pee on my knees in the middle of the night! I’m almost 60yrs old and yoga positions to do this is no fun. I just realized with a dog the ladder could be a problem. My wife and I have enjoyed watching you guys. I’m really impressed with how you’ve kept those good looking kids together on this adventure. I think you got them hooked on it just in time. Take care.

    How much does the LRA tank hang down? Is there a noticeable loss of clearance? Does it seem susceptible to rock strikes/punctures?

    • @EFRT
      @EFRT  4 роки тому +2

      Keith Hanson - hi there. Those were my concerns at first too.
      The way they are designed is amazing. They fit tightly into the space opposite the existing fuel tank. On the JL it is almost flush. On the JK it shows down maybe an inch or so but neither affect clearance at all.
      They are very durable and puncture is not really a concern the way they are designed and the way they fit into the frame.
      Hope that helps.

      9Fifty4Girl - Hi there.
      When things started getting weird a few days ago and we started hearing about potential border closures etc. we packed up and started heading north from southern New Mexico all the way to BC Canada.
      We rented a small place in the mountains for a few weeks to rest up and see how this whole thing goes. We plan to get back out in the wilderness and self isolate in the mountains.
      Living on the road is great, but the only time you are exposed to potential infection is picking up groceries but as long as you take the proper precautions you will be great.
      Have fun and we’ll see you down the road.

    What made you go with different bumper companies?

      Preperation Concentration - Just wanted to try the Poison Spyder bumper out. That being said the ARB rear bumper and tire carrier is excellent.

    Wonder why you guys went with 37 instead of 35 to match the other Jeep?

    • @EFRT
      @EFRT  4 роки тому

      intelbrain Y - yes, we thought about it and going with the same tires on both jeeps is a great idea especially if we’re doing or international travel.
      In this case our plans were to do trails throughout the US Southwest so we gave Pete and Dan their wish and got 37s. 😀

      The stock Rubicon is about $55,000 and there’s approximately $25000 + added on.

      Vimal MSK - we didn’t re-gear, didn’t seem necessary. We’re pretty happy with the way it runs. 👍🏻

    目前在中国,我就没看到过一台改装的特别好的jeep,法律不允许改装,导致人的创造力被严重限制,相关的汽车改装产业也得不到充分的发展

    The title of this video should be how to make an already over priced jeep into a $120k 5000lb turd. Do yourself a favor. By a 5th wheel next time and save 60k and go to sleep in a king size bed at night. This is just dumb
