In this week's episode, we head south from Exploration Outfitters in Mead, Oklahoma to The South Padre Island National Seashore in Southern Texas.This is our maiden voyage with our newly retrofitted Jeep Rubicon after it spent about two weeks in the shop being built into an expedition vehicle at Exploration Outfitters. This Jeep is our newest member of The Epic Family Road Trip in addition to our original 2012 Jeep Wrangler Arctic Addition named Vandi. We had retrofitted Vandi at Exploration Outfitters in 2016 before shipping her to New Zealand for a 6-month overseas overland expedition. The early mornings are always the best at the beach, worth being there at sunrise.
The off shore rigs and workers litter a ton. I've collected a dozen hard hats on trips down there. Nothing like living with a dog on the beach, sand forever!
I enjoyed watching your videos showing beautiful landscapes, rugged terrains, beautiful beaches, etc. The iconic Wrangler Jeep symbol of American 4x4s is so amazing. Keep safe guys.

Amazing shortcut film! This family would survived in anyApocalyptic event or The Walking Dead thing. Really, you can go almost anywhere with this skills, equipment and Jeep vehicles! I honestly enjoy the video edition!

It is a very supportive community of women who love all things diving and you would be most welcome. Get yourself somewhere for a dive with beautiful reefs and do more diving without that heavy surf, murky water and nothing to look at. That was a hard way to start into the sport.

My wife and I are empty nesters and we bought a 2015 2 door willys edition 2 days ago. The next day we bought a GSP to ride with us. She’s only 3 wks old so we have a few wks until she comes home. Lookin forward to our future adventures.

Beautiful and awesome place to enjoy as a family. I love the two Jeeps but the white JL in particular because when I bought my TJ,I asked for it in white but it took three and a half months to arrive and I decided on a navy blue one,but the white one is my favourite for a Jeep.

Epic Family Road Trip Unfortunately here by law it is totally forbidden and you can only make routes trough mountain areas or deserts with prior permission,otherwise you risk a heavy penalty. I'm in a Jeep club ( between 25-30 CJ,YJ,TJ,JK and JL) in which we go out of the route several times a year and they are responsible for managing those permits. You are in paradise and at least I enjoy watching your videos and the wonderful places you visit. Take care and enjoy.👍😁

just remember to wash your Rubicon before you head out the salt water will kill your sway bar disconnect and lockers.
Yes, that’s a great reminder. We hit the first power wash station we could find and gave it a good thorough cleaning. We’ve done it a second time since just to make sure. You’re right that salt can do a lot of damage.

I noticed at 15 minuets and 5 seconds into the video with the cast iron skillet cooking 3 eggs that your propane lighter was laying almost over the fire or seemed to be. You all seem like fantastic people, hate to see one of you get injured.
Where you were camped at the 25 mile marker (called Big Shale) I live about 40 miles NW in Kingsville. We go down 25-40 miles quite often. I worked in Canada 7 years, love my Canadian friends.
I saw your Big Bend episodes too, usually make it there 5-6 times a year. Keep making the videos.
