I like the concept of this a lot but it seems like so much extra work. Hull building can be daunting at first but I feel this would just be more work thank building it by hand. If the smoothing was better this would be awesome.
It doens't work I upload the obj file it loads a bit then shows a picture about some missing texture when I already removed them after that the hull builder just crashes.
You have to use meshlab to reduce polygons - in some cases using microsoft builder to correct errors - Hull builder is buggy so you do have to try different things to get it to work
Loved the video @Endoskull Gaming! About the Ship that you were puzzled by (The Ship with the Red-Brown colored deck), I think that might be a Cimarron-class Fleet Tanker from the U.S. Navy during the Second world war. You've just given me an Idea for a Convoy Escort Scenario, kind like the one I typed up for you all in your "Target for Today" video, but on a slightly smaller scale. Let me know if you're interested in this idea and I will try and come up with something that might be fun but also won't lag the game out too badly.
ok i dont really understand how to import a 3d model, both into meshlab and in hullbuilder. i tried to follow along but you just showed when you had found the right file not how to get to it. there should be an instructions book on how to use stuff, not just a little tutorial
funny enough I used this yesterday before this video was even out, had no clue they updated it.

When I use the hill builder all it does is turn any model I import into a ball of chaos, seems to be extremely bugged
“once it’s done doing that, you’re not done…”

You should go to skunkworks and ping me - that's what we're setting up - a convoy mission with all the bells and whistles.
@@EndoSkull Upload to Workshop!!!!
The other link doesn't even work!
Oh wow man that’s awesome
i don't know why, but it crashes every time i open model. Don't matter what is it, just a simple box, crashing
it does that for me too
This will save a lot of work. I actually use Stormworks for digital mock-ups of my ships I design.
GD BIW?
would meshlab work for it?
I wonder how well it could capture the the cab of a CN SD60F locomotive
think of 3d imports and reference points
@@EndoSkull personally i dont really know a single thing about 3d importing
whoa he revisited it
how do io upload a 3d model to it?
thank you!
also i’d like to know if this works with jets
The rebuild of the F14 was done with a 3d model reference ua-cam.com/video/9jFha1_JEAw/v-deo.html
This should work with anything.

Pretty much said search google for Free .OBJ 3d Object with the name you're looking for - sketchlab has a lot of models available.
That is useful, but don't be a copy cat))
if you need this you got a skill issue
Upload this to WOrkshop!!!
Some day!
@@EndoSkull Thank you!
I will gladly make it into something beautiful.
