The latest from George Dobell in Multan, now live on The Cricketer website. “Park the recriminations, Pakistan rolled the dice and it paid off.” www.thecricketer.com/Topics/pakistan-v-england-men-premium/park_recriminations_pakistan_rolled_dice_paid_off.html
As an England fan, i have no issue with the pitch, especially after how flat the pitch was last week. Pakistan did a gamble that worked out and played well. Was an entertaining test match.
It is not the fault of Pakistan that English batters cant play spin or why England dont have a world class spinner. If England lose another Test in Rawalpindi, whether due to toss or spinning track, all English Press including George here will find an excuse, which if summarised would be"Why English batters have been asked to play Proper Test Cricket", which can be attritional at times on a spinning track.
How about this: if both captains want to bat first - Replace the coin toss with both captains putting in bets in a sealed envelopes of how many runs they think they could get in the first innings. The higher bet gets to bat first - BUT for every run under their bet they end up with, they have a penalty run applied to their first innings score? This would seem to eradicate the toss issues. If both teams want to bowl. - then have a toss. If one wants to bat, and one wants to bowl...no problem!
Toss is over rated. I hope Pakistan prepare another raging turner in Pindi, which turns square on Day 1. Now that we know that apart from sweep and reverse sweep, England batters have no other method to negotiate spin, even when they know which way the ball is going to turn and there is no mystery bowler in Pakistan team.
It should not have been allowed. Every innings was noticeably less than the previous one. That tells you the pitch was the only thing that won. No sport should be based on a single toss of a coin.
@@aaronread7988 Hmmm yes I have watched Test Cricket before, for over 50 years. And that moronic sweeping statement you have made isn't just rude and ignorant, it's wrong for a variety of reasons. Mainly because Test Cricket has other variables besides pitch - they include weather, temperature, humidity, quality of light and the skill of the cricketers. So why don't you try basketball, or coin tossing, they are more your level of infantile simplicity!
The English media, pundits, journalists, ex players etc are all very quiet regarding the use of an used pitch for this match by PCB. I think the reactions would have been very different if such a pitch was used by BCCI as when the English team face a turner pitch in India, they start complaining about how unfair it is for them.
@@johnnyloco11 Looks like you don’t understand simple english which is not a surprise bcos we know how westerners have difficulty understanding basic things. Why don’t next time England comes to India for a series, don’t start shouting about the conditions of pitches 1 month before the series starts. Just say we accept that each home board has the right to prepare pitches that are favourable to them like ECB does .
The pitch controversy reminds me a bit of when (I want to say Border) tried to use an old ball to start an innings against England and a fuss was kicked up that they had to start with a new ball.
Many of English experts themselves asked PCB through Twitter,to conduct second match on same pitch...now you guys lost, and suddenly started complaining for the pitch itself😑.... accept defeat mannnn

ECB don't like turners, ask Somerset.

A toin coss. Thank you Rev Spooner
Should there be a penalty for review a nick caught at first slip?
Using same pitch did happen recently in Ind v Eng 2021 test series in India where first 2 matches were played back to back in Chennai pitch.
Same ground not the same pitch

This is definitely the first time in history that a match has been decided on a toin coss 😂😂😂😂😂
Pope is a weak link in that lineup.

English pitches are doctored
Not everything is about India, however much chippy Indian fans want it to be.
Indian cricket fans are like three year old kids, so self-centred. Not everything is about India.
so you admit india can only win by screwing up their pitches?

That was Yallop in 78/79 🤓

Green wickets are not exceptions? Are they?
Have you listen to the actual video or just want to troll not complaining and all for home advantage

A disgrace and fixed so that they could win a game at last. Who agreed to use this pitch? Made their bowlers look good under false conditions.
