      Most of the so called RCT (randomized control trials) are usually sponsored/funded by giant corporates & industry. So, they intentionally scripted (false RCT) it as per their own purpose & doctors /scientists are driven by them, because of prior agreement & sponsorship. So, globally trial is not solution until government takes initiative (without involvement of industry/corporates) and its free from corruption.

    I had an umbilical inscisional hernia mesh repair in 2009. Ive had so many problems, and like others was told it had nothing to do with the mesh. Mine polypropylene. I ordered the sticker page from medical records which proves implantation, manufacturer, and UPC. 2019 mesh revision surgery (removal) so painful, watching all these videos proves to me what I had known all along. It has been rotting inside. I feel like I aged 20 years. It took two surgeons to remove it. A 10 inch full open incision. Cant do anything like I did before. ITS HORRIBLE. I have not worked in 4 months recovering still. I cant lift anything. Crucial pain, cant sleep, not hungry, feel sick, needles and pins or the feeling of being kicked in the stomach real hard. I've been a plant based Vegan for about 6 years now, and I think that helps out a lot. If you remove the cause of mucus you remove the cause of pain. This is something you might want to think about. Got my left inguinal hernia surgery done with mesh back in 2015 at Hillingdon Hospital London.
    I was a normal average build person. Now i am a baggy belly ugly looking fella.
    Continues left leg pain. Stretch feeling. Pain. Can't wear underwear and belt in my jeans. Its painful. Feel exhausted whilst driving or walking very uncomfortable feeling 24/7 cant sleeping facing up. There is an inflammation in left side of inguinal canal. Was never pain free. Continues 5 years.
    May God will punish those heartless N.H.S planners and management. Nurses and staff are our heroes management sucks.

    You can request to have your hernia repaired without the use of mesh. This is what I did following a hernia repair 7 years ago. Surgeon was bemused and asked me why, and I said I believed I was at high risk for rejection as I have the kind of body that reacts to everything including fake jewelry and even buttons or zippers, let alone something foreign inside. They did it without the mesh. Just ask and be firm. He did say the likelihood of the hernia occurring again was greater without the mesh, but I've had no problems since. Sometimes you have to be a difficult patient. Same getting it removed.

I would ask and ask friends , family and conduct your own desktop research before getting operated on. Having a professional highly skilled surgeon will save you the pain and life headache. It is a very bad abdominal hernia, with the only thing between the outside world & my intestines is an increasingly stretched out layer of skin. I should've had the surgery over a decade ago, but the surgeon said they had to use mesh & I said "see ya"! But, I will start looking again for a surgeon who can do the non-mesh method. I had double groin surgery done at Shouldice abut 7 years ago. It is a tension repair (mesh is no tension) so they keep you at the Hospital about 5 days or more if required. After my double, I was kept over a week. Immediately after surgery the tension is certainly evident. But it just gets better. Also, Shouldice doesn't use knock out gas. If you can have your Hernia repaired at Shouldice, you are fortunate.

    My father died in severe pain from a faulty BARD Mesh and a faulty staple gun, in which he had tons of mangled metal (wire-looking) strewn everywhere in his abdomen and even behind his lungs. (Some of the mesh even worked itself outside of the skin, coming out in small pieces.). It showed up on an xRay and it looked awful!!! I refuse to EVER have MESH put into my body, if I have any other options. MESH manufacturers had recalled the mesh, but the DOCS and hospitals NEVER pulled them out of their stock room!!! This had made his last ten years of his life a LIVING HELL!!! Avoid MESH if u can!!!

    I have lived with a groin hernia for 11 years. In 2019 I had an examination at the Luton and Dunstable hospital. I was told that they no longer use mesh but I was told " After the operation you will not get an erection or be able to orgasm, but as your 66 years of age that won't worry you". I told the surgeon that his sex life may be over but I'm still very active, so I have been wearing a hernia belt reinforced with a wooden disc. My hernia is now the size of a cricket ball and sometimes enters my scrotum but usually disappears after lying on my back for a while. I just have to be careful when having sex. The problems from the operation have put me off having an operation.

    • @markuse3472
      @markuse3472 9 місяців тому

      Well, did you have an operation or not? Sorry, but your wording can be twisted.
      If you had the surgery, how is it you are okay with the intestine or hernia entering your scrotum since that is VERY not normal?
      Any other thoughts or follow up information since your possible surger?

    • @davidsage6575
      @davidsage6575 9 місяців тому

      @@markuse3472 I have not had the surgery but came very close to it. I had a swollen lymph gland in my armpit for 4 weeks, not causing any discomfort but thought I should get it checked out. My Doctor thought it might be associated with my inguinal hernia so sent me to the hospital. There I met the surgeon and he asked me to undress and laydown for examination, very strange as the hernia is prominent when standing, he then pushed two fingers up through my scrotum and I felt the pain as he split the inguinal passage open. He then noticed I have a Hiatus hernia, which I have had for 42 years without any problem, he put his fingers together to make a blade and then forced all 4 fingers through the wall of my stomach, again I felt the pain of being split open. He then said he would operate on the inguinal hernia tomorrow, I must wear a corset for the Hiatus hernia and after the first operation he would remove the lump under my arm, which he diagnosed as a fissure. I was laying in a ward awaiting my operation when it occurred to me that I am here because I visited my Dr with a swollen lymph gland and am now about to be cut open by someone who has done more damage by either intention or incompetence. I discharged myself not having any trust in this surgeon. I had some 8mm thick plastic board in my garage and made myself an "L" shape support that goes under my scrotum, it took 6 trials with the design before it was perfected. I wear this constantly, even when asleep. The damage done to my stomach and Hiatus hernia means I have to be careful when sitting up from a prone position and I now suffer with a lot of burping.

    Had my hernia mesh fitted 15 years ago. Severe pain for a few days, forgotten in a week or two and no pain since. Long term pain occurs in around 2% of patients who have it done. Any op can have different effects on different people - this video is just highlighting those few who have experienced problems. Don't let these few people make you think that everyone who has this op suffers long term pain.

      Please provide factual evidence for your claim that "Mesh has injured & killed millions of people worldwide." Peggy Mitchell. According to data from NHS digital, more than 97,000 hernia mesh operations are completed in England each year, yet only around 2% suffer long term pain afterwards. I appreciate that runs into hundreds, but there are very few deaths occur from mesh implants - you are more likely to die from heart disease, cancer, a stroke or a car accident. Get things into perspective and stop scaremongering over mesh implants. It's a choice you have, suffer a hernia or have it treated with a mesh and take a small chance you may suffer with pain afterwards. There's risk with any operation, that's why you are asked for permission for an op to be performed. You can always refuse if you aren't willing to accept the risk.

I had to have a pituitary adenoma removed and 1/4 of my pituitary removed, but the surgery was not successful. I have been in constant pain and I have been bedridden for 8 years. I had a surgeon at a leading U.S. hospital to tell me that it is because of the trauma of the mesh on my body. I have been to four leading U.S. hospitals and no one seems to be able to do anything to help. I was working and active before the mesh was put in. Can't sleep on my right side or stomach, sometimes a shooting pain, always a pinching, annoying pain. I think the corners of it dig into me when I move. How infection works is that if you are sick with some infection, it can travel to the foreign body (mesh) in the body. Not caused by mesh, but travels to there. (A surgeon told me this and that he had removed some seriously infected mesh areas and they are big operations.)

  • @krippaxxuseredarlordofthes9940

    what i dont understand is why they fixate the mesh on the fully flexed belly wall. can the mesh move, after it has been placed? usually nowadays self adhesive mesh is the normal way to go. so after youve placed it and stitched the wall back together, removing the gas will contract the tissue where the mesh is on. how can this work out? imagine a balloon where you stick paper on and then let some air out. or is self adhesive mesh not very sticky and as the tissue cntracts back to its normal form, the mesh slides over the tissue, instead of folding? or what is stronger? the mesh staying intact without folds or the tissue contracting after gas release?

    There are some heart-breaking accounts over several videos on this topic. None of it meshes with my experience. I count myself damn lucky. 17 years I had my mesh implant and so far no complications. Knock on wood. I didn't even know this was a thing. It's most likely the new mesh materials which are potentially toxic and dangerous! I'm seriously concerned if I need hernia which I might. • @happyhaze1526
      @happyhaze1526 5 років тому

      Metaorange
      What you said about the likelihood of the problem being more related to the newer mesh materials sounds plausible. I cannot and have not opinion re the alternative you are pursuing. I'll say this, though, based on my experience, when the mesh works, it really works, and if I find myself in the position of needed another, say on my left side, I'd research the brands myself, when I'm sure I have one of the oldest and reputable ones, that's when I'd approach a doctor and tell him which one I want to have implanted. Or, better, procure it myself bring it to said doctor. If the doc wants to overrule me, that won't fly. It's my health and my call.
      That said, I hope your situation works out in the optimal way. Take care.

    Before having any surgery done, educate yourself. Shop around for a surgeon. Realize that while a surgeon may come off as brusque or cold, he or she may have a great track record and excellent technique. That’s the other problem I see, people want to go to a,certain surgeon because they are ”nice” or because family members or friends went to them before. I’ve worked with surgeons who are sweet as pie but I wouldn’t allow them to water my house plants. I’ve worked with surgeons who are complete and utter assholes, but they are smart and competent.

    I had laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair (with a mesh) six (6) months [not days/weeks] ago and it has been horrible. My condition is actually worse than before the surgery. The mesh feels like a piece of sandpaper was surgically implanted inside of my body and the area where the hernia was a half year ago is still painful and swollen. My right testicle has been swollen and inflamed and is still approximately 100% larger than my left testicle. My condition is worse because of the pain and aching associated with my testicle being affected as opposed to just the less sensitive abdominal material that would occasionally protrude though my abdominal wall. My condition is affecting my activity level. I cannot walk for extended periods of time before the aching spreads to my lower belly area causing an upset stomach and ultimately headaches. I am dealing with chaffing because of the abnormal size of my right testicle. I can no longer complete a full yoga workout, ride a bike or jog/run and this has caused my physical condition to continually decline since the surgery. I have lost notable muscle mass, flexibility and my energy level is continually lessening. I am considering have the testicle removed.

      Mesh has absolutely not been banned in the US and the newer mesh used after 2017 has been shown to be more bio-compatible. ProGrip is one mesh being used that is not tacked down/stapled or sutured in place which eliminates the likelihood of nerve entrapment. Prior to 2017 there were issues with the mesh used but the FDA has removed/banned them from medical use.

    • @lewis1544
      @lewis1544 4 роки тому

      Strengthening the abs? I don't know. I used to go to the gym most days and did a lot of ab work. I got a bad cough after cancer surgery. Coughing uses the abs and intercostal muscles. I think the strength of my abs pulled the internal weakness apart and caused the epigastric hernia. I'm going to be very careful about ab workouts.

    • @Sam-tg4ii
      @Sam-tg4ii 4 роки тому +1

      I guess it really depend where exactly the intestines pop out from? If the hole can be tightened by tightening the ab muscles in those regions, at least theoretically it must help. They say a strong core works like powerlifting belts, holding the mid-section organs all in place. Try to picture your abs muscles and fascia. Holding their surface area constant, it's not possible to have them distended and weak without introducing holes and spaces between them, and that's recipe for hernia.

    Can agree with all comments on mesh... got hernia mesh Oct 22, 2010 and before 2 weeks it had to come out on Nov 5, 2010.....along with abdominal muscles, nerves, bellybutton.... this was put over a aortobifemoral bypass and the scar tissue has been working against it, had to get FemFem 2013 and 2015, had bowel obstruction also in 2015.... afraid of not getting autopsy so had tattoo requesting one and signed/dated it... I hope that they find out what the mesh causes inside human bodies... the FDA did not require mesh to be tested in humans to be put in humans before giving manufacturers a 510k to provide drs to put it in humans then destroy people because mesh attaches to things in human body.....thank god there are some drs that can and will do surgery to take this crap out, doesn't do any good because there is something in mesh that goes in our body and is killing us.... :/

No UTIs, kidneys are fine, prostate is fine, my doctor sent me away saying it’s just a mystery I need to live with. Any other males or females had these similar symptoms???It may not be due to the Hernia repair but i have met an older gentleman who’s had similar problems after a similar operation. I ve done many darn repair... and now a days desarda repair... these are good .... it depends upon the floor of inguinal canal.. some pt have very lax floor.. so in such cases it is good to do mesh repair. but one thing is must.. good clear dissection and nerve preservation is must thing. Other wise even in fascial repair if nerve is entraped it may cause this chronic odynia.... and for umblical it is better if u modified mayos repair...bcoz in umblical and paraumblucal hernia in these patient fascial edged are very lax and if put mesh in sublay area. It may get tract onto the peritoneal area and got adherent to gut.. so for these mesh system is present .. in which one site of mesh is proline made and other side ptfe.. one is sticky and one slidy ... put into defect and thats all.. gut will not then adherent to the mesh.. ur surgeon should have freedom during surgery in order to have to select the technique for this... and yes shouldice is best... but here in asia less people are fully trainned to do that
