The things I like about Alien: Covenant can be summed up in one word, David. I like how after ten years; he's been obsessed with creation and used the materials he gathered to create his own species of xenomorphs. He really came off as a smart intelligent threat.
The first 4 Alien films have showed that the birth of the xenomorphs takes some time. When the facehugger gets on a person's face it's on there for a while until it comes off. And then when that person wakes up it takes a few hours for the embryo to fully awaken and finally burst out the chest. In AVP, AVP Requiem, and this movie it only takes a couple of minutes... WTF?
I wish they wouldn't have treated the fans like idiots with the "twist"... Why not show David kill Walter and then when he pretends to be Walter, it is already established and more cool to see rather than pretending to fake us out when every one over 2 years old knows exactly what's happening.
watched all of your Alien Reviews And looking forward to what you guys have to say about this one! I am starting it right now! I will leave A comment Again when finished. I enjoy You 2 working together, you make me laugh! I love you guys! And like I always say keep up the good work! I enjoy watching both of you, alone and together! Thanks!!!
I'm 50/50 with the new Alien film I enjoyed it because I love Prometheus but then being a Alien fan I hate. Its like a love and hate relationship with this franchise. I hope the next film will tie up the loose ends. Great video guys.
I'm more with you Cody, I really didn't like this movie. Michael Fassbender is my biggest positive, he's a great actor. I actually liked the ending, I like the idea of it and it was kind of creepy. I did appreciate that it wasn't afraid to get gory. I totally agree about them rushing the Alien parts. And what the hell was that Xenomorph pov!? Great review guys.
Much of the necessary footage that was suppose to be in this movie to help connect the dots to this movie from Prometheus and have necessary character development was deleted and put on UA-cam. This movie is terrible. I hated this movie. The Astronauts in this movie are making so many stupid mistakes like going on to a new planet with no space suits. That is so stupid. WTF!! That is lazy writing.
What I hate about this movie was at the end when that messed up android David fooled everyone and took control of the whole friggin ship and continue to go on with his ungodly experiments on the unsuspecting colonists. That I hated with all of my heart !!!!! A total crap end to this movie, not to mention all the very bad acting from folks who are supposed to be in the top's of their field's.
What I didn't like was the cast. To be fair, they aren't as insufferable as the cast from Prometheus or as stupid and some of their decisions are understandable. Like after the solar flare screwed up their systems, I can see why they'd want to pick a planet closer to colonize. What I can't forgive is everything Cody and Durbin pointed out. Not wearing space suits, breathing in everything, not checking their android to make sure it's not David etc.
Why the stupid characters don't bother me is the Alien franchise and its genre, cosmic horror, is all about the insignificance and incompetence of humanity. The first alien is filled with it...Kane and Lambert being pristine examples. Part of it is our own curiosity and arrogance of our perceived dominance being the hubris that destroys most people in these stories. The David twist wasn't meant as a twist. It was a tension builder cause you're meant to either expect it or be suspicious and hope its not.

I know it is kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Jefferson Lyle try Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
This movie ruined any expectation for any future movies having to deal with this franchise. The ending pissed me off so much.
+Joseph Martinez Yeah it crushed my interest as well. Such a shame

@@CodyLeachYT you are very welcome! i am now watching your ranking and so far i am by your side! pretty sure we will agree on everything!

Thanks man. Im not too hot on Prometheus as long as it tries to tie into Alien. It should have been a stand alone movie.
100% disagree with that guy, this movie was really bad
This was by far the most disappointing movie I have ever watched, and in my opinion it’s the worst Alien move ever.

Love your reviews! Keep it up! Have you considered reviewing the (original) Millenium trilogy?
Have you ever considered reviewing the Friday the 13th or Resident Evil series??
I plan on reviewing Friday eventually but Leatherface and Chucky is next for me. Resident Evil? No interest honestly.

Naomi was killed off in a deleted scene
