    You've made the arty missions absolutely impossible. I fired a FULL load of alternative to do 5 crit hits to internal modules or crew and all I've gotten so far is 2. The burst radius is a joke, the damage is pathetic. This class is absolutely unplayable now, but for some reason you didn't change the arty requirements for the personal missions (or just do away with them altogether at this point).
    This upgrade is an epic failure on your part.

      @@bluecat9906 You can’t be serious..??? There are now two completely different HE shells that have different burst radiuses, stun/internal module damage mechanics, and differing damage potentials.
      Originally you had an HE shell and a premium HE that just had a larger splash radius.
      So please explain how arty HE didn’t change lmao.

      279e is garbage and its entire niche thing that makes players think it's broken is stomping tier 8s into the ground, which the is4 does better cause it's slightly faster in general, has more HP, even dumber armor that can actually bounce gold rounds, and doesnt take 2 years of grinding missions to get; and chieftains suck in pubs compared to the sconq or kran, literally a tank that people complain about cause they either blindly push into the thing while its hulldown instead of falling back, or they dont challenge it at all and it gets to do whatever it wants to do for free and the chief player farms 5k damage as a result.
      Literally just out play those by dabbing 2 key, tactical retreat to a camping spot/flanking them, or ask arty to focus them when they can

      These tanks are not trash at all. Of course they can be defeated when using tactics but there are undoubtfully overpowerd and the is4 is absolutely not doing better than these tanks at anything...

      @@sloppyhead5739 is4 has 0 weakspots on turret, inpenetrateable turret, extremely strong side armor, very good HEAT pen, decent upperplate and lowerplate. Its actually pretty good.

      Did you watch the beginning of the video ? You can see when the arty is reloading and from which direction it fires. Its easy to avoid arty shell. So if you cant you deserve to be bombed with HE.

      Cry . You still have to aim with premium ammo . You act like premium ammo is some magically ammo that pens everything . If you actually used it you’d realise it has it limitations ,especially heat since it doesn’t pen spaced armour tracks or destructible cover. Whereas HE was just herp derp oh look a tank auto-aim magically gets 300 dmg and a million Crits for no skill

      @@silent_6021 .....300 damage aye? with which guns? you dont roll up in an EBR and splash someone for 300 damage. 300 damage no matter where you hit is like a 152mm thing(and higher obv). and cool, you have to aim with prammo. valid point. until you realize the reason people are complaining about this. prem rounds are so stupidly expensive, and not only that, they have higher pen for the same damage. it is legitimately pay to win. with TD's, you kinda dont need to aim with prammo in tier 10. when everyone saw that the 3 arty shells did have a premium variant, im sure most people were a bit happy with that. take a look at blitz, their prammo does less damage for higher pen. and now with these premiums and hull down vehicles running around, it'll be hell for any f2p player. although i will admit, i like this change for superheavies but in another aspect, noone really uses HE against an e100. they just pen the turret with prammo. noone shoots HE at a maus, they just pen the cheeks with prammo. noone shoots he at a jagdpanzer e100, they just pen with prammo. the minority of people that use HEagainst superheavies are kinda gone now. theres only 2 things left that can go against superheavies now without prammo: arties(which noone likes), and TD's. what they did with the HE changes is BS, and hulldown vehicles will be stronger than ever. plus why remove the splash and make it pen obstacles??? it was logical that it didnt go thru obstacles because it would explode upon impact for ANYTHING.

    So if i know my explosives well the HE got changed into low pen HEAT. Explosion is always volumetric and an explosion only at the point of impact is the definition of the heat shell in real life. Call it shaped charge too but thats still heat.
    And an explosion in real life will always go the way of less resistance , thats how guns accelerate their projectiles, these changes make no sense in definition.
    What made less sense was that the explosion got armor penetration values.

    To feel more comfortable in a HT its not SPG-nerfs and HE shell remodeling that is the most needed, it as rebalance of the Gold ammo that is needed!

    You guys HAVE TO rework artillery missions wargaming. After the SPG change (biggest nerf in WoT history) the mission are now almost impossible to finish. Please take a look at the missions and update them. Thanks :)

      Many tier 9 and 10 tanks cannot pen it properly and here you are claiming tier 8 can. Absolute joke.

      @@outfit5103 I agree, the salty people kept complaining so now arty deals on average 400 to 800 damage per shot. Even though the specs are still saying 1800 damage 😂
      Arty has been nerfed so much and has no way to defend itself because even a direct hit at point blank range still onky deals 400 to 800 damage

      Something utility shells to aid the rest of team such as smoke is a nice idea. Problem is how are the artillery players to compensated when they fire a shell that has no capacity to damage an opponent? The game rewards damage and stunning.

    Just remove arty campaign missions for the reward tanks and most of the arty players will go to play normal tanks.
    There are only 2 grinds to do with arty in randoms, either going up the techtree or doing personal missions with them so please, don't force players to play arty every time someone wants to get the obj 260 because (and I talk from my own experience) its painful enough

    What about all of personal missions that include module damage, tracking and damage, spg (stuning) and who knows what else...??? Sorry new players but the chance to earn a tank is much less now, and if you want a new tank: PREMIUM STORE!!! (in other words: pay or bugger off!!!)

      Dude, what are you even talking about?
      Admitedly missions may get harder, but reward tanks don't have increased earnings and are good mostly for crew training.
      Meanwhile, bond shop tanks like Liberte ARE premiums, however, and they are completely accessible for F2P, it's just bond grind.
      And then comes the referral program.

      Those missions will get reworked at some point if needed. You don't really know how things will change until you have at least a solid month or two of data on the live server. It's really a simple concept in game design, see how it works and then change it, not before.
      Also FYI, when I started in 2011 it was unheard that you would get a free premium tank through, mission, marathon or anything really. Yet we kept playing. These days you are literally showered with stuff but you complain.

Players don't leave if things are getting better in game, they don't care about the gifts any more, if they get angry and frustrated playin a game that should be for fun and relaxation then it's AltF4 and uninstall... (just look at S.Foch, on that day how many more players followed his example...)

    Adding new shells new mechanics (tO lImiT aMounT of StuN ) bruh just remove arty missions or re-work it coz YOU NEED TO DEAL STUN DAMAGE so it doesn't change a thing or just limit only one arty per game coz Tier 10/9 is absolutely garbage with 3 cancer devices (new perk is useless for slow tanks) , 9 of 10 games is 3/2 jeffs per team just think wg think , just watch reaction of Skill4ltu DezGamez Quickybaby I only appreciate brighter tracers and nerfing M44 , new HE )

      You have no idea. A simple movement from a heavy tank is enough for an arty shell to change from 300dmg to 50dmg. Shells take 2-4 seconds to arrive which is plenty of time to make it less effective

      Hull down the 4201 is a insane but that makes it stuck in that position, once it moves it's easy to nail

    sigh, you guys just cant listen to your player base...
    1. HE is not the problem... Gold ammo is the problem
    2. If you want to introduce sound detection as skill....(kinda usefull) give it to the radio operator. The commander is already burdened with tons of required skills, while the radio operator usually needs 3 (BIA, repairs, vision increase)
    3. Artillery in itself is not the problem. Having 3 arty in one game 80% of the time is a problem. Reduce to 2 arty max.
    4. The arty shell type really do not give players a choice. The only viable shells will be those with the largest splash radius due to the massive rng involved in hitting a target with arty.

      in most tanks that have 4 crew members commander is also radio operator so same problem and idk about limiting arty to 2 per team because in ranked they were limited to 2 per team and every game had 2 artys per team i think they should rework/remowe arty missions that will decrease arty in mm

      2. Good idea TBH, but I don't think they'll change it at that point.
      3. 50/50, arty needs more skill but 3 per battle are indeed excessive

    I've been a player since 2015, and this isn't the game I started playing World of Tanks with, it's something else.

      I agree I have been playing since 2011 and I don't want to play anymore. After they introduced the swedish tank destroyers (which was a good addition) it's been going downhill hard. Before that there was some stuff that was bad. But after the swedish tds it's mostly been bad.

    The new arty HE shells should have been named "Timed" and "Impact." Their new functions would reasonably match those real types of artillery fire. Timed/airburst HE would affect a larger area and could be reasoned that it needs a slower velocity to decrease the margin of timing error, while an impact fuze would affect a smaller area with greater damage.

      😂 Well if your the top tank on the enemy team I'd target you first too mate, an Artys only job is to support its team and the best way to do that is to target the most powerful tanks first, well that's onky true if the arty player actually knows how to do teamwork.     I highly doubt this HE change is good when you play like tier 8 tank versus tier 10 tank. At least old HE shells let you do SOME damage if you were lucky. It seems to me that now you cannot do any damage at higher tier heavy tanks with HE shell. Not a good change. Would have been better to nerf certain few tanks which were and probably still are a problem after patch. But whatever we'll see..

      60TP is pretty much the only tank that was causing any significant issues when it comes to HE because it had both armor and a big HE gun. Now they did away with a fun mechanic just because of this one tank lol...

      Tank armor is designed to protect from shrapnel and fragments.
      HE shell is going to more reliably penetrate side armor of squishy light vehicles due to track/sideskirt penetration though

      @@anonim-8572 the armor below the tank are less thick. Mostly 10-30mm, those armor can't withstand a big HE shell explosion (122-150mm) realistically.

      At that point all I can do is to shrug, point at game balance and say that that splinters from HE hitting Maus turret front not damaging engine deck are not realistic either, and that is one of the factors why the change greatly benefits Maus.

    Even though I personally don't see the point of HE changes I understand why you did them. What I don't understand, however, is why you changed the fact that you could splash enemies and not shoot through objects with it.
    I don't understand how this is something so gamebreaking that you had to remove it, as far as I know it was just an unexpected and useful way to leverage your knowledge of the game's mechanics to your advantage.
    Examples:
    Like hiding behind a small obstacle when a deathstar is aiming at you, knowing that he'll not even hit you if he first hits that object
    Or when a low HP enemy is hiding around a corner and you're able to just splash the ground to kill them

      The former will no longer have fragments packed into their thin roofs from explosions in turret front and the latter will have their trollish wheels and tracks made inefficient protection against HE.
      This change turns HE from anti-anything to anti-soft-target

    It's pretty pointless to have different shell types for arty when you have a half hour reload time. Different shells for different situations is only useful when you have 5sec or less reload. I miss the arty shell sound hitting the tank, metal on metal singing .... now it's a floof of sparks and disney animation. too bad, back to steam I go.

    just did a match in the Maus to debate this point:
    HE Rework - nobody asked for it, you only catered to the Clan War Players because they were being dealt with in the T95/FV4201. soon as half the enemy team saw me and bounced normal AP, they flung so much gold at me they could make California blush.
    Gold ammo spam is a major and significant problem in the game for tanks that NEED to rely on armor.

    In the description for HE arty shells, it says that damage to internal modules and crew is possible upon penetration. Does this mean no arty shell is capable of causing internal module damage without penetrating anymore? I ask this because in the article on the portal, "Sandbox Test: Reworked SPG Mechanics - FAQ", it states "Also, unlike standard ammo, the alternative shell will be able to damage internal modules and injure the crew.". What am I to make of this? Does standard ammo just never cause internal damage even when penetration is achieved? Or do alternative shells still do internal damage and it's just written incorrectly or incompletely in the info card?

      For the stun shell there isnt module damage on splash, I dont know if it does damage if it pens but I doubt it.
      For the damage HE round that doesnt have stun it still does module damage on splashes/non pens as well as on pens.
      And obviously the AP round does module damage which means taking dead eye on your arty isnt a waste of a skill anymore, which is nice

    All arties are fubar but not only arty will suffer . It also means LTs are spotting for nothing and get less damage upon spotting . Introducing AP shells to all high tier arties is just not the brightest idea as long as the accuracy has been nerfed . There is no point on loading AP if you know that there is 99.99 chances to miss the target and do 0 dmg . The less annoying HE has the splash radius smaller than the gun dispersion , that means you always hit one meter further away from the target than the distance required to do damage . The first HE shell type , the annoying one , will get more xp for arty for stunning and less xp for almost no damage done . In other words , all LT and SPG missions are simply close to impossible to complete . Of course in this presentation is shown the one AP round that hit , one out of few millions shot and missed , and not shown the AP round with 370mm pen that hits a target with 40mm armor and bounce . I think all test results in the Test Server are corrupted and implementing them in the live servers will lead to some decrease in DPM (Dollars per Minute) . What makes me say that ?! First of all only tier 10 vehicles were tested , mostly without the participation of the vehicles that were subject for the changes . Second , All vehicles in the test were equipped with improved equipment and all skills crew and all this was expected to performe just as well with normal equipment and no skills crew . Third , there is no point in buying premium tanks or/and premium account to enter in a game where everything that could be considered as fun is systematically removed from the game .

    This means you cant even do 50 dmg to donkerers and 279e s, and they just load the gold and you´re screwed, or hit a wheel in an ebr with high explosive and no dmg if theres nothing behind?? HE wasnt even a problem to begin with, just buffing heavys, what is an is3 supost to do when it finds an 279e? Shoot HE? No damage, Flank? Get recked by campers, camp? c´mon.. and WHY the hell have Sound Detecion on the commander??? TF?? We already have 30 skills on an commander and want more, why no on the radio operator? Its "Sound", I have no idea why they dont listen to players, and still the politic "no nerfing premiums", they nerfed all the ebrs except the premium one, I have that one and dont mind, keeping the balance of the game is important

      Honestly, I couldn't care less about it. I thought let them have their serieus reduced fun, most players in arty already didn't do much damage in a battle, now everybody does even less. My average damage with artillery of lately dropped immediatly with around 35%-50%. And I'm an arty player that with alot of the arty's get in the top 10 of monthly beta hall of fame. The nr 1 is not strange to me either. But now, do not rely to much anymore on the support of artillery.

      Well actually better armour or double hp would be a good thing. I'm an arty player and always support my team. Artys have been nerfed so hard since the games release to the point that even with gold shells I only deal 400 to 800 damage, where the death start deals double that.
      I've lost count on how many times my team has abandoned me to die and Artys can't defend themselves because even if they're loaded 8 times our if 10 they'll miss and the 2 time out of 10 they'll only deal small damage even at point blank range.
      So because we can all be practically one shotted by every tank in the game its not fair to have no defences when the teams are stupid or abandoned you

    AP could be good for counter arty. If you dont oneshot the enemy (Aka hit it), you might not scare it away from its position.
    I think i finally have a reason to grind to the BC arty with clip.

      I have the "155 58". I have had it for years and currently have a 5 skill crew. Before arty changes a few years ago the "155 58" could fire 4 shells in a clip instead of 3 as now with a fast (4 second) interclip reload and with a third more damage (>1000). The other change was a reduction in engine power so that it could not run away as easily, which I have no idea why this change was thought necessary.
      AP rounds on a autoloading SPG mean a lower damage yield since many shots will not hit the target and many that do will not penetrate solid armour or due to hitting tracks of being deflected.
      AP/HEAT rounds are best employed at point blank to closer ranges against targets that HE will not penetrate or do much damage against, but where a penetrating AP round will cause notably more damage.
      Problem being is that artillery does not have the luxury to switch shells to meet changing condition because of very long loading times.
      Whatever SPG you user, take nearly all standard HE shells with a very few AP shells. Don't bother the "middle" type HE shell.

    Well, intuition skill is awesome except when you are using it on Progetto 65 or any other auto-reloading guns. You must reload the full mag (roughly 46 sec) just to activate the skill, which loads only 1 shell in the mag.... Why would you even try to do this, if you already have 4 shells loaded. You have literally better chances to deal dmg with 4 normal shells than 1 gold one. +Meanwheile standard autoloaders changing their full clip in no time.
    Massive nerf to autoloading guns like IS3a, Obj 703, and all the Italian auto-loader heavys and meds. If you already reloaded all the shells, then they should have the buff too, of course, according to the loading time of each one, one by one.
    The other changes are fine, except that we still don't know how much they buffed for example m60, and we still have 3 arty games. And t92 should receive rather some top speed buff if they really want to buff it.

    i shot 13 tanks with less armour than 86mm with the 152mm canon on the KV-2. all of then did not penetrate the armour that was around 30-60mm and the angle was flat... this games makes no sense.

    Just played a few battles with my KV-2 in this new update, I just ''bounced'' the flat side of a Cromwell and no damage to a KV-3 4 times in a row... It's worse than I've expected, MUCH WORSE.
    Total disregard of all the players who use HE to save credits and/or to damage a tank that you can't pen, even with gold. This game just got a lot more unbalanced and depressing...

    Will this 3 shell types apply to all arty? Even those that currently only have a single type? Given that arty accuracy is already nerfed and more is due, I remain unconvinced so far.
    I'll wait and see what happens in practice, but all these "here be arty" indicators are simply pandering to the dedicated arty-haters, the incompetent and those who simply don't want to learn. In the vast majority of Random maps/matches, any player of any level who is paying attention can very quickly work out where the arty is because there aren't that many spots available to arty where they can't be seen. (Hmmm. Wonder why they brought in those dumb wheelies???)
