I commented before saying i been lifting since 1995, but my son became sick and I just couldn't lift anymore ,my head wasn't in and I couldn't get the motivation, however almost 7 years now my son is 90percent better and I am back lifting , loving it to and seeing a feeling the benefits , you gave me the power to keep wanting to lift and I think without you I think I would have left it behind , THANK YOU FOR BEING WHO YOU ARE , Your awesome .

If I remember rightly & my facts are correct, this is Kai Greene, getting paid to build muscle (arguably one of the best bodybuilders of our generation) You're just a gym goer, monthly payer, few people at work call you "muscles" vest wearer.

One important thing I learned is that muscle is built up over a long period of time. You can only build up so much muscle after recovering from a single workout. I used to think if I completely blasted my legs in a 2 hour workout, that I’d gain more muscle. Actually muscles can only grow so much after a workout. One can’t gain 10 pounds of muscle, or even 1 pound of muscle, after a single workout. That helped me lower the weight and focus on slowing down the movement, stretching, contracting, and using control throughout. Still sometimes when I go no brain mode I forget this and just try and squat as heavy as possible. Then I realize I’m just focusing on the weight and not on the contraction and the technique gets very sloppy. The body doesn’t know how much weight is on the bar. All it knows is overload due to mechanical tension and metabolic chemicals. You can actually inject the hormone that makes you sore into your muscles and it will grow the tissue. The body only knows reaching failure it doesn’t know how much weight there is or even how many reps, but higher reps help achieve the metabolic stress. That’s why Kai can build more muscle with lower weights than some guys in the gym who lift big but look like shit. Too many people, myself included, feel the pressure or conform to machismo dumbassery and just put as much weight on the bar as possible. This is performance lifting it’s nothing to do with bodybuilding. Only the builder himself can know when he reaches failure and can feel the muscles contracting and burning. One guy can reach failure benching 95 pounds while another guy can sloppily bounce 225 and NOT reach failure. The first guy will build muscle the second guy will not. Bodybuilding is internal and the outside world can’t know when you’re burning and reaching muscle failure.

I find if I slow down and control the movement with flexing at the top of every rep, then a single 25 pound plate is usually enough for 3-4 sets of 20 on the seated calf raise.
i would give more than effort training with Kai
