This animation explains the basic principle of centrifugal superchargers as used in the Kawasaki H2. This type of supercharger is also called radial compressor.
Contents
1) Compressor impeller
2) Speed vs. density
3) V-belts, toothed belts and chains
4) Kawasaki H2
5) Intercooler needed?
The bug things were an...interesting touch
I'm feeling pity for the poor one on the blower axis.
Tommy McGuire shut up
My kid loved the video, but the metal wasps made it doubly entertaining. Good education!
Ya
@@oscarsharkslayer There actually hornets but who cares
You left bee inside at 0:50.
And what's the problem? :)
I care about its well-beeing!
It's ok...
R.I.P Bee
he turns the impeller :p
Video: *2 minutes of educational animation about Supercharger*
Comments: You left the bee!
So clarkson was right. "Air goes into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster."
I'll buy anything he says anytime
Except this is a supercharger.
no, supercharger hasn't got a turbine but some kind of screw wich give the right amount of oxygen at any time. check superchargers inside ;-)
nah youre wrong tho, turbochargers are driven by the engines exhaust. superchargers are driven by the crankshaft by a belt of chain like this one. theres different types of superchargers, this is a centrifugal , and the supercharger youre thinking of is a twin screw. ;-)
More air more fuel more HP
Those bees are very handy,
Even one knows how to weld...(2:01)
Amazed.
this animation is outstanding
what a level of animation , i loved it. pixar style.
for real men
can you freaking fuckin look at my name !!!!
And here I thought mosquitoes could never be good for anything.....
Richie Kirschner fr tho
don't stop making these. you're great!!!!!! thank you. very good tool for showing my customers as friends how there cars work
i love these 3d animations best way to learn ..thank you thomas
u left the bee and it got sucked into the supercharger and its remains came out on the other side...that was cruel
Correct me if I'm wrong. Turbos use exhaust gases to run the turbine which in turn traps the air. Supercharger uses engine power to do the same. So aren't turbos supposed to be
better or efficient ?
You're partially right. Turbocharged cars can be thought of being more "efficient" as they use the exhaust to increase airflow - by turning a turbine and hence a compressor - into the cylinder rather than dumping it into the environment. The disadvantage comes in when you're not stepping on the accelerator (connected to the throttle), this means there isn't much air flowing into the cylinder, therefore not much exhaust - which is necessary for the turbo boost. That's why when you accelerate - open the throttle - there's a bit of a delay before you hit the boost, this is called the turbo lag.
Since the supercharger doesn't use exhaust but rather the engine itself, the delay will not be present making it a better option in terms of early boost and great throttle response. (putting it simply). Hope this helps.
Awesome animation.
The mosquitoes made it itchy :)
Bee: "Wheeeee!" Great explainer video.
If Centrifugal Supercharger for cars, are they require an intercooler or not?
I thought in The thumbnail was a whistle
I'd like to know if any bees were hurt in the making of this video and also, where I can get a set of torx screw bees to install my supercharger.
Increible!!
this was a hell spectacular explanation . amazing work
Animation is simply superb. How do u do this? Very well explained in an interesting manner.
Wanted to know how the h2 supercharger works. Got exactly what I wanted.
I was just searching for how superchargers work and voila I got an animation showing my dream bike!
Ah! Ninja H2 and H2R as i thought earlier right after looking at the thumbnail of the video that one of these machine will be shown in the video and it is shown
great animation and delivery of concept....make more of such videos
Thanks. Spread the word, support and subscribe!
Hi, a bit of suggestion. Try not to dump lots of videos in a short amount of time. There's a channel I know (a good one) that published a lot of videos in a short time and he received quite a lot of complaints. Perhaps 1/day or 2or3/week.
Beautiful and informative animation, well done!
Nice video.
I liked your all animated explainer videos...👍👍👍 great videos. I've subscribed your channel
This is the best animation I have seen till now!!
Thank you so much sir!!
where did you learn to do that ? because you generally have good animations but this is at other level.
I didn't like school so much, so it's all self-taught when it comes to animation.
well, i am a mechanical engineering and your animation are pieces of art, i have seen few like those. well done.
i am a mechanical engineering and i have seen few animations like that, well done you have a big talent you should think about teaching.
I work at the University of Hildesheim :)
I am in fifth semester of mechanical engineering, i got a C1 in english and a B1 in german, i am from colombia south america, do you know a way i could do and international exchange with your university, if you have a link that might be useful or may be and advise, i know you are busy person but five minutes of your time could change my life. thanks any way great job.
Anybody know where I can but that bee ? I want it to take care of my engine, bc I cant do this myself 😢😢😢
The fly that spin it was cool but how
Great video. What softwares you use for this animations?
Houdini
@@ThomasSchwenke-knowledge Thanks
Very informative video
please make and upload more vedio
love the mechanical wasps
Quite im taking notes and shit.
Neat animation but I'll pass on using this type of supercharger. I don't care how good it works I'll go with the model that doesn't require a swarm of hornets, thanks.
Feminist video. We have a female character riding the bike. Wonderful and apt, I'm sure.
That anime piston looked awesome
Sir this is really an awesome animation!
Please tell me which softwares you used for this.
Carrara 8.5 Pro.
Can just someone explane to me why h2 doesn't have intercooler like all other motorcycles?
Animation:
Me: Someone help that poor spinning bee!
Not trying to nit pick but i dont think those welds from the wasps are going to hold.... Haha
So thats why super charger is more prefered at higher altitudes as the density of air is lesser on higher altitudes nd super charger increases the density of air
Very well and perfect
Nice work. Except the female rider animation. Let's keep this rooted in reality, not über liberal, feminist bullshit. Motorcycles are a safe haven from narcissistic, needy, broads. Chicks and bikes are mutually exclusive-like food and porn. Insistence to the contrary will alienate your audience.
Believe it or not. There are girls on bikes out there ;)
Those hornets, or whatever the fuck they are, know what they're doing apparently.
very nice and helpful, I want more videos like this
Nice video! Wish it was captioned though. :)
Hello sir, please tell me .. Soundtrack name? Share soundtrack link
level of animation
Coolest video ever
now i know why the honey bee's are disappearing, welding with no helmet, over stressed by heavy bolts,AHHAHHA
Love your style
Wow I like this vid so much info how it all works
How does it stop... if it stops instantly when the engine stops it will wear... please explain
These animations are movie like
Liked your animation style
안녕하세요. 저는 헬기정비학과를 다니는 학생입니다. 이렇게 유용한 자료를 찾기가 힘드네요. 유용한 자료 감사합니다!
고마워요!
Awesome!
Could use me sum of em' lil' worker metal bees in the garage if you can spare a few.. Bob's always slung over a pile o' tires drunker than Cotter Brown... I'd fire him, but he's actually my boss. Thanks a bunch.
Turbochargers look much better.
Superchargers sound much better.
Your explanations are fucking awesome
nice bees.
Top
I always knew tiny bugs were stealing my bolts and welding my shit
so, what you are saying is, that it's just a powerful mechanism that automatically feeds it's feeds air to mix the the fuel to make the air/fuel mixture that is fed to the piston by the spark plug in order to create a controlled explosion, but with this mechanism it's more powerful of a controlled explosion inside the cylinder? wow, that's so cool!
I guess you can say this compressor can bee sucking in air for powa
Wtf 😂
This needs more views
This was a very informative video! Wonderful animation!
you are great!!! and animation is awesome ....
0:50 you left the bee inside the supercharger, ohh you poor bee :(
I really really love the animation
I'd like to become an engineer, where do I get robotic bee workers? And do they come in black?
YOU have to build them....
Thanks a lot
well done.keep it up sir
I killed 3 mosquitos while watching this video.
Oh, and one more got killed inside the compressor
Your voice changed Thomas! Is it still you behind the mic? :D
Nope, that's a professional speaker :)
My, oh my! Your channel is getting better and better! I love the worker bugs, awesome touch, much better than having the components fly in by themselves. I've been watching your channel for a few years now. Just keep doing what you're doing, at your own pace. We love it!
Cheers!
I liked your old voice better:D
Love the animation, superb cool
Nice bugs how they unscrew...
this is animal abuse :v because its in animation so it's ok :v
Very good animation, thank you.
Great video and superb animations. But this a turbocharger and not a supercharger, am I wrong?
You are wrong :)
@@ThomasSchwenke-knowledge hahahahah good to know, I did a research and found out that there are actually 3 types of superchargers and what's the difference
So what would be the best option supercharger, turbocharger or , centrifugal supercharger
I use Centrifugal Supercharger for a water pump
which software you are using bro ??? could you tell me please ???
Carrara 8.5 Pro
Wow! the bug rotates the turbo
it was awesomely explained
you didn't say why the h2 doesn't need an intercooler can you please tell me
Don't know for sure, but intercoolers are used to pump even more air into the cylinder. So, I think the air doesn't get too warm and doesn't expand alot, so an intercooler isn't needed.
Well explained! Thanks
nice animation! and a good one
Thomas, what software do you use? Thanks for answering!!!
Houdini
Top notch content, as usual.
This animation has been taken and reused for another video on another channel with the only difference being they changed the name by adding _HD at the end
What's the link. Do you have it?
@@ThomasSchwenke-knowledge ua-cam.com/video/R9LPbkRapKU/v-deo.htmlsi=yZ0Js8wfH9QpHz9a
@@ThomasSchwenke-knowledge seems like my revolt with the link was removed.
@@ThomasSchwenke-knowledge the name of the channel is Muhammad kh and the name of the video is basically the same
Loved your animation quality..
Hi..can anyone tell me if the car can work without turbo??
Yes, however you would lose a lot of power and would have to retune the engine
i wish i can afford an H2 lol
So is it like a turbo charger but then spun by the crankshaft instead of the exhaust gasses?
Or am I just completely lost
You are correct. A turbo would look similar to what is shown in the video but instead of a gear assembly driving the impeller it would be a turbine spun by the flow of exhaust gasses.
