Thank you so much! I'm a chick and new to cornrows, and all the advice I got didn't even come close to keeping my hair frizz free. But yours did! Thank you!!!
I tried this method and I subscribe to it! I used to wash my cornrows and they'd be a disaster after the first wash, making me have to take them down in less than 2 weeks. Tried your method & it worked beautifully. Thanks for this video! I might actually be able to keep my braids in for a whole month before replacing them!🙌🏾
Just subscribed fam, I have a dreadlock channel and I been growing my locs for 13+ years after years of having long locs like Samson I decided to start over and grow my hair out. Keep it up!
The first time I got my hair braided I kept them in for 3 weeks. This past Saturday made a month that I kept my braids in the second time so I’m getting better thanks to you. For future reference when do you recommend I wash my hair?
i'm a moroccan boy i don't got black hair and i wanted to try cornrows for the first time and i was asking myself if all of this proccess also applies for me. I also watched the other video about taking care of them and i wanted to ask you if i should put oil everyday or less
Hey bro, when I wash my cornrows the part of the braid thats hanging gets so frizzy and it almost doubles in size. It get really loose and I have to get it rebraided to fix. Do you know what could I do with that?
Yeah this my second time getting braids, going strong in my first week, only problem is that I’m Mexican, I have wavy hair almost curly, but I like the style even when it gets a little messy. Thanks for the help.
I was making a mistake when I washing my hair everyday I haven't been growing my hair for that long hopefully my hair gets long enough so many can start picking it tomorrow will be The 3rd month of growing my hair
Thank you for this, just started rocking some rows and I was freaking out because I’m on week two and they are still nice and tight but I know it’s probably past the time I need to get them washed!
Hi Kozact, Is Palmers Leave in conditioner Olive oil, Something that i can put in my 4c hair also What other things can i put in my hair, that can promote thick and healthier Hair
You said to not moisturize your hair with a leave in, but wont your hair get super dry? What are some tips tips to prevent frizz if you want to moisturise?
@kozact vid helped a lot but I swear a lot during workouts. I workout 6 days a week should I be cleaning like this 2 times a week and applying oil everyday?
Kozact, pls you're gonna have to do a video, or many videos about the awkward/ugly phase of afro growth, how long it would last, how to manage it, deal with it or even hide it (to resist changing/removing and in turn damage it.) If possible how to deal with people telling you to cut it. Yes I've been to the barber twice since June and no one is having it, and now even I am not, help!!!
kozact, So basically rn i'm trynna get an afro and maybe braids in the future and i've been growing my hair out for the past 3 maybe 4 months or so and the hair growth has been slow but recently i've been oilling it more and so on. Should I restart and start fresh even tho theres no split ends or keep on going? and also random question but how often do you wash your own hair, Kozact?
I’d say you don’t need to restart, as long as you start keeping your hair in the proper conditions from now on your hair should adapt well to the Change So oil your scalp , Condition your hair with a leave in conditioner , And seal in the moisture by putting a little oil in your actual hair now And to answer your other question, I wash my hair Once every 2 or sometimes 3 weeks
bro i am from middle east and my braid is back straightg and it stops on back/top means it is half braid until top of the head. So what do you recommend in shaving sides and back of the head?
Thats what im gonna try, makes sense to me. What he does works for him but i dont think he knows everything as he said shampoo is only for the scalp which isnt tru because dirt, oil and sebum and product get on the shaft as well and you do want to wash that off every once in a while imo to prevent buildup and allow your scalp to breath.

I would recommend against washing every day , hair needs moisture and an optimal environment to grow, by washing every day your striping ur hair of that moisture and in some cases can even be slowing it’s growth. Try wash less often
Off topic but If you put a leave in conditioner & hair oil and the next morning you use conditioner. Does the conditioner wash out the leave in and oil. I thought that you were supposed to conditioner on your hair everyday. But your also suppose to leave products until ur next "wash day" IM CONFUSED PLEASE HELP!!!
Kozact is it ok to pick ur hair everyday? Because my hair loses shape easy and if i dont pick my hair it wil look short and flat and some poeple say dont pick ur hair everyday and some poeple say its ok
It’s fine to pick your hair every day as long as you’re picking it properly, meaning your taking your time starting from the end and working your way all the way to the route of your hair Something else that you can do as well is finger detangle your hair, I usually pick my hair once a week and then throughout the week finger detangle it to keep it detangled You can watch my videos on how to properly do both here How to properly detangle your hair ua-cam.com/video/XN_Dpz4gZzw/v-deo.html How to finger detangle properly ua-cam.com/video/mv31AE6nnMg/v-deo.html
I’d recommend against washing your hair every day as it’s extremely stripping and will dry your hair out. Instead wash once a week or once every two weeks.
Kozact I just got my hair braided and a haircut right after I want to shower and rinse the hair off but the braids have only been in one night it it ok to shower without shampoo or conditioner in hair just water
What if I’m a hooper and I’ll get a cornrows like in a month, and now, with my normal hair cut, I usually go to shower twice in a day, because I run at the morning, I go to shower than I have a practice and I go to the shower… What should I do? If I continue going to shower twice in a day with cornrows, I’ll ruin them, but if I won’t they will be sweat all time and stinky… So what am I gonna do?
It’s normal for your hair to sweat. What I’d advise you would be to do the shampoo twice a week. Rest of the time just put a durag on in the shower. I myself do a lot of sport and that’s what I do. It works
Brother all i can say is to continue to moisturize and deep condition ur hair, and check to see if u aint vitamin deficient , vitamin d i heard is responsible for hair growth , if not it s probably based on ur hair care routine, thas all i can say to help
@@jkratos9958 I just received all my products I got the Jamaican clearifyinh shamooo, African pride miracle moisture (shampoo, conditioner ,leave in conditioner)Millie deep conditioner, Cantù heat protectant, hair mayonnaise treatment , wild hair growth oil, sunny isle Jamaican black castor oil, vital miracle growth pomade, virgin hair fertilizer, shears for my ends and a 5 in one blow drier These are all I need right Also how do u out moisture in your hair Let’s say using lco method bc Im low porosity So I spray liquid (water), then my leave in(what if it’s also liquid), then oil my scalp right(do I also put the oil on my hair or only ends
I heard it s better to wear a bonnet bcus dyrag presses ur head inward and cud be verybehard to deal with and pull out in the morning, bonnets ar ebeyter because they dont compress ur hair as much as a durag . U can use a durag but add some slack so that you dont restrict blood flow to ur head to allow good circulation to ur head and promote great growth . But depending on ur hair , when it s pressed with a durag u ll have to apply a lot more water to loose the strands so that u can pic it or whatever. But u can gain alot of split ends from this so i highly recommend a bonnet. Also hair might struglle to grow if ur vitamin deficient , vitamin d is for hair growth. Hope this helps 🙏
For my looser hair type i recommend a durag as a bonnet would allow movement in my braids and cause loose hairs as it rubs against my braids. but im gonna try a bonnet and see if it works better.
Why are you washing your cornrows in the first place. That is a no no. Your only supposed to shampoo and condition your hair when you take braids out to get redone.
