  • Hey, guys so I hope this video was helpful I wish I would have known this during my first time getting braids a while back. Now that I know this I keep my braids in for much longer. I know I said it doesn't matter what your hair looks like cause your the only one who will see it. But there are certain people I'm around that see my hair and I can be looking like a troll. So yes every time you rest your head you should have a durag on but when you're up then you need to have your hair out and getting air. The only other time I wear my durag is in school or at work for a few hours because the braids are looking crazy after a while lol.

    bro i am from middle east and my braid is back straightg and it stops on back/top means it is half braid until top of the head. So what do you recommend in shaving sides and back of the head?

    • @jolttv1727
      @jolttv1727  2 місяці тому

      I like keeping my hair as clean as possible. Imagine you have a hat on you still want it to look fresh on the sides/ back. That why nowadays I always get some fade which makes things look cleaner. So yes id recommend a fade or tapper of some sort get a good barber they will understand.

    • @jolttv1727

    Bro I’m a white caribbean (3c hair) and when I did my braids, the next day when I went to sleep, some of my hair was poppin out, idk cuz it was short (2 inches) or because I need Afro hair, any tips?

    • @JanuaryXVII
      @JanuaryXVII 3 роки тому +2

      Hey, hope the progress is going good im NO EXPERT but here's my opinion. When you go to sleep have a du-rag or some type of protective cover on your head that can tie it down eliminating friction. Also, I had my hair redone 2 weeks or so just to look presentable. But if you not around anyone for the time being let it grow crazy and don't manipulate it (touch, fix, or redo) it too much.

    • @jolttv1727
      @jolttv1727  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, give it time to let the natural hair oils work. No use in washing those out daily. You can still smell extra fresh without washing the hair daily or getting it wet. So try getting the hair wet every 3 days.

    How long should you air out your braids after putting in the oil

    • @jolttv1727
      @jolttv1727  Рік тому +2

      So I leave a durag on for a few hours until it settles and it's not going to frizz. Then I take it off and give my hair some air for about 6-8 hours. This can be you at work, school, or chilling. Don't do any exercise or sleep that could cause frizz though.

    I think cornrows are the answer or for African Americans because it's what our culture knows about us we copy others hair styles but in the end we should remember how our ancestors wore there hair they didn't have relaxers perms or twist nor dreads look at some family pictures most have dreads mw friends family like my niece and her son my sister and her kids I understand if you don't comb it will grow but to me it's personal clean and what our people did no time for personal care means every no one will escape homelessness because being well kept is a mental health issue God willing we show our children how to take care of themselves or slavery was for nothing ❤ Jackie

    • @jolttv1727

      So regular hair growth is going to be slower imagine a plant if it gets a little bit of sunlight a little bit of water it will grow regular. But by making sure it has the max amount of water that it can take and the max amount of sunlight and products it will grow faster and healthier.
