- This is the classic chicken curry straight from the recipe book of our home. One of the best curry recipes that I have learnt form my mom, who cooks some of the tastiest foods with the least amount of oil and only with necessary spices. In this video, I have covered everything from the basics of marination, preparing the sauce or curry and how to get it right every time you make it.

Fantastic Dish❤
Looking forward to try this. I never cooked any meat dishes before and I always wondered how to know if the meat is cooked well. Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Very well explained. Will surely try. Wish you all the best.
Outstanding! I added tomato becasue I had them and didn't quite have enough red onion so I used them instead of the onion puree part of the recipe. Will do the full recipe next time and there will be a next time. ❤❤
वाह, बहुत ही बढ़िया अच्छा लगा देखकर। सबकी अपनी बनाने की एक अलग शैली हैं।
What a great recipe, lots of spices! I’ll definitely make this for the weekend. 😋
Thank you :) Let me know how it turns out :)
I couldn’t wait for the weekend so I made it tonight using bone-in, skinless chicken thighs. The chicken was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. There was plenty of delicious gravy for rice. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Gorgeous! The curry looks great too. 😅
Yummy I will try it
Thanks for posting. Its really a good explanation for beginners. I have question,is the cooking process same for desi chicken (naturally raised) as well instead of broiler?
Yes, the cooking process is the same, but you may need to adjust the cooking time slightly depending on the size and age of the chicken. The larger the chicken (whole), the older it is and the meat will be stiffer. If it is too small there won't be any meat left after cooking is done. For making chicken curry , I get chicken that weighs between 2 to 2.2 KG and we have to get the live ones here straight from a butcher. So if you are getting precut chicken , you can look avoid the ones with very big thighs and those with a lot of fat over it. They may be great for grilling but not for curry. With Desi chicken what Iit might also help to marinade for atleast 1 hour and cook with 1 of water along with curry paste. In this video I have added just 1/2 a cup.
Looks beautiful.
Thank you
Glad you liked it, let me know if you make it!
It’s a crime to freeze chicken curry LOL
It usually doesn’t see the light of the next day 😂
Anyway, thank you for the great recipe without tomatoes 🤩
Just perfect ! Can’t wait to try it !
Thankyou so much for your detailed explanations! So helpful as I’m always over seasoning 🤦🏻♀️
Abit similiar to my cooking.im from singapore we cook this way but we never use youghurt..n no grinding of onions..the rest of method same way.greeting frm singapore
It came out really well, thank you!
What is the reason for not making onion paste All together. Thanks 🙏
It gives a coarser texture to the curry in this case. The onion slices also give out their flavor slowly into the curry.
KADHAI stainless steel dishwasher safe with light weight, do you have any idea if it’s available to buy online? Thanks 🙏
Something like this , should work great . amzn.to/40XmCWD
What is the difference between curd and yogurt and Can we buy curd online. Thanks 🙏
Curd is more sour, the culture is different. It is not easy to find curd outside India easily , unless there's a big Indian community there and if there's a Indian store nearby. If yogurt is what you have then you can add a Tablespoon or two of lemon juice along with it to get the same effect.
Is there any way to fix the curry when some chicken pieces after cooking are more dry and chewy?
Yes unfortunately it can happen sometimes , In that case you have to add more water and cook on medium heat for longer. Avoid buying very large chicken and marinade it sufficiently.
@HappyBellyfish I will keep that in mind. Thanks for the reply.
Onions give me bloating almost always. Is there a way to make this recipe without onions? Especially a lot of onions?
Je ne sais pas pourquoi je me suis abonné à cette chaine alors que je suis végan. Ciao.
My mouth is watering 💦
